  1. Ha my mistake I must have mis-read your post or failed to spot that bit. Anyway glad he is ok. Yes mate I agree its often hard lessons learned too late in life, the above happened to me when I was 17 and thought I was invincible. Tbh I still thought I was invincible but learned that some parts of me are not so took the fact that I was lucky as a sign & didn't question it from there on. I think my son thinks I'm a nagging dad but he listens to me & does what I ask. By the way Ian I'm also a dental phobic & feel your pain bruv. I am still struggling with my own phobia I'm glad I'm not alone in this
  2. I'm glad your ok Ian that pic makes me wince. When I was a whipper-snapper apprentice, back when health & safety on building sites was in place but more of an after thought, I was walking past a builder who was cutting a bit of steel with a 9" grinder, as I passed I suddenly got what I thought was a wasp sting in the corner of my eye, the pain was seriously intense, I'm not much of a wimp so my reaction caught the attention of the site manager, who asked to have a look, I took my hand away from my face & he went white as a ghost & called for an ambulance. When I was waiting for it to arrive the pain was getting more intense & some of the guys on the site came over to have a look, one dude looked like he was about to faint in front of me, basically I'd got a shard of red hot steel that had pierced my sclera (the white case that all the soft gooey stuff is kept in) and it was bleeding like a tap. I didn't realise it at the time but my eye simply turned off & I could not see through it at all. The really scary bit was when I went into casualty, I asked if I was going to be able to see again & the nurse looked at me & said "I don't know" I don't mind admitting I shat my strides when she said that. It turned out the injury wasn't as serious as it looked, after the shard was extracted and a fair whack of pain, lots of painkillers and a few out patent appointments all came back to working normally. Although during the healing process I got a feeling for what its like to be blind in one eye & that scared the brown stuff out of me. Ever since I've never risked my eye sight for anything. If there is a gap bigger than 6mm in your eye pro, plug that gap I mean it guys when I say, you can be macho for 5 mins but your blind for life.
  3. From what I know its usually a decent turn out. I've never been but lots go from the site I attend they have nothing but good things to say about the Gaol
  4. Yeh the unknown quantity is putting me off making the order tbh. I think I will leave it & go back to the drawing board.
  5. Quick question about ordering from evike. Anyone know what the extra costs will be for the following: Hand rail & red dot sight costing $89.99 I've Google it & keep finding conflicting info.
  6. Like I always say to anyone who has never been before, Buy some cheap combat trousers, some mesh goggles & some boots from your local surplus store or on line. wear a muted coloured top/jacket/fleece for your top. rent your gun for your first day......play & see if you enjoy it. don't worry about looking like a special forces operative for your first game, just go and have fun & if you don't like it or its not for you its cost you very little. Your kit will build up in time so don't worry about that. Hope you enjoy airsoft mate
  7. Here is the spanner in the works lol I own a G&G LR-300 & its an awesome bit of kit. I swear by G&G as the build quality is cool & solid. with over a years worth of rough and ready skirmishing its never missed a beat for me. But: my son wanted a starter rif, so I got an Ares M4 for him to use. this rifle has been to every Skirmish the G&G has & matched it in range & performance, Although its not as pretty as mine or fires as quickly it still does the job with no hassles at all, he is 13 now and it has stood up to a years worth of battering as he is not by any stretch of the imagination a light handed kid. As a matter of fact his stings like a bitch when your hit with it. Although I'd always recommend the G&G I'd never discount an Ares in my own future purchases. And I do like the look of the Amoeba its a nice looking bit of kit
  8. My sentiments exactly good sir.
  9. Strange this. My other half is on the high risk list via the department of genetics for developing breast cancer, she undergoes 3 monthly inspections, scans & blood tests as part of the scheme she is on. During the regular appointments she has, the staff on the cancer ward always warn against any full contact sports for her because physical trauma to the breast area has been link to the development and acceleration of cancerous cells. I'm not saying your wrong there but this is advised to women (like my other half) who have a risk of developing cancer in the future.
  10. I just told the mrs to buy stuff for my son as I'm struggling for money this year. Watching him smile make my day as he will be the proud owner of a 1926 Thompson Chicago which I know he will be chuffed to bits with.
  11. Dammit why is all this kind of cool stuff always too far to go for me? not fair
  12. My opinion only: All three questions: the answer is Yes they count, they are all splitting hairs. Just play the game & take your hits. When you start making exceptions the rules become complicated. KISS principle and have fun
  13. all kept in a gym bag the rest stuffed under the bed in a completely chaotic way

    Got a question

Yeh not a good idea. Especially if your in military gear.
  15. I always carry a full hi-cap as a spare because one weekend my son was having a bit too much fun & managed to empty ALL FIVE of his mid caps in one game & had ran out of ammo. He couldnt see where I was & some dude threw him a full hi-cap so he could fight on. Back in the safe zone I refilled the hi-cap to hand it back to the dude who told me that my son could keep it as he never used hi-caps, it was just his spare & he had a few. I now keep this full just in case anyone would ever need it. the next time someone ask's me, that hi-cap is theirs & I hope that person will do the same. I also do this with Gaffa tape, I have given out loads of rolls to people in need. It comes from my mountain biking hobby, I'd never leave a fellow rider stuck with a puncture or at the side of the trail. Same with any airsoft dude.
  16. Given that it was the last game of a day, it depends on what the person is like, if he was a nice guy I would have given him them no worries.
  17. I used to listen to "Hostile" before a fight when I used to box. great band
  18. E-Bay mate. My son is 12 and I have pretty much got all his stuff off either E-bay or Amazon. its a struggle sometimes to get stuff that fit my son as he is short for his age but the gear is out there. If you get stuck mate drop me a private message & I will help out the best I can

  20. Did anyone else read this thread title with odd punctuation? To me it looks like a news headline about a recently deceased blues musician.
  21. You should see our street fitness group. the gym bunnies turn up with their 20" arms & never come back after their first session. Last month a power lifter threw up after being beaten by a size 12 lass. Big muscles are for show, yes they can pick up something heavy but their fitness is geared up for slow lifting only. Everything else they are hopeless at. A couple of months ago a few of the testosterone junkies joined us, the job we were doing was running up & down a concrete tennis court with gas cannisters full of sand tied to our waist's. they couldnt even complete one run without almost having a heart attack. At the start of the session they were laughing at what we were doing half an hour later one of them was worried that he might pass out in his car on the way home. I thought he was going to have asthma attack. Green eyed monster is probably their cardio robbbing their skin of oxygen before they pass out lol
  22. Alan's Ball sack? I'm off to play Alan's Ball sack this weekend........We all wear uniforms & protect our eyes.
  23. Lol Yeh man. I wore them as a extra precaution. When I was standing with my arm up I got a funny feeling about "that" BB....it sailed straight into Captain Winky....The padding cut down the worst of the sting but I was glad I was wearing them. The only things I really protect seriously is my eyes (Hero shark all the way) my ears (I play bass in a band so wont risk injury to my hearing) and my palace of fun. all the rest will accept bruises no worries.
  24. These are the ones I have....High waist line & padded bum n happy bags. not flattering at all. Me & The Mrs calls them "Lurve me pants" although she looks better in them than I do. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CAcQjRxqFQoTCILFq4Xpo8cCFUTYGgodQ2UDdQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tredz.co.uk%2F.Endura-Mesh-Boxer-Padded-Undershort_44387.htm&ei=_GDLVYLXNsSwa8PKjagH&bvm=bv.99804247,d.d2s&psig=AFQjCNHsDN944auVTAaFTDzmH3gtLyP9UA&ust=1439478393601150 Dont stress by the way, you can get them cheaper than that silly price
