I think that could be an extention to teh Smooth criminal game, the night before wash a kerbab down with lots of Guiness & start the day with 6x raw eggs. hmmm toilet fresh !!!!

Thats not a sin, it is manditory !!! When people ask how it goes with my 12 year old son. I respond "Kick his arse as often as possible" lets be fair he has entered into a game where shooting people is the point of being there. I say if it moves shoot it, if its small and moves shoot it more!!! so I think your clear on that one. It could be worse, you could shoot a kid in the head at point blank range who is on your team!!!! which is what happened to my son. He copped one right in the centre of his forehead, the guy couldnt stop apologising but we thought it was hilarious my son was chuffed to bits

Nope thats a school nickname. long story Dropping one in public is a sport me & my son play......we refer to it as dropping a "Smooth criminal"

I often let out little farts during a fire fight just to see if I get away with it.

I have 2x pairs of trousers (1x DPM & 1x MTP) Two UBACS (Same as above) the rest is the usual gloves, ricas, and pouches.....and 1 primary rif. Although I'm about to sell off every poor choice purchase I have in my spares box.....which isnt much. My other half doesnt realise how lucky she is sometimes

I was just wondering more than anything. the forums seem slow nowadays just nice to have a chat about something other than the usual. I was looking at differant camo patterns and it's a bloody minefield out there. Muticam tropic looks nice but cant see anywhere that sells mag pouches. Mandrake looks really good but silly money.I dont envy the shopaholic airsofter. I'm glad I have a "It'll do" attitude towards kit. Saying that i do sometimes look at stuff thinking "oo thats nice" but my mortgage and son usually takes priority. After much badgering I'm going to go to my first Mil-sim event this year so need to get a MC chest rig but this will be done on a strict budget, I''m not looking to become serious about airsoft, to me the fun is the laughs with like minded people, the kit is just a small part of it.

Cool thats kind of what I was thinking & you confirmed my thoughts. Not looking to reinvent the wheel it was just idle banter. I may have a mess about with this, I may not......dunno its just a game innit ?

yeh kind of my point really. Now I'm all DPM/OD the rig does kind of stand out because of a single distinct block of colour which I think would be better if I break it up a bit. The MTP looks good when the sun is shining through the trees but not great when your trying to fade into the shadows, hence why I dropped it in favour of DPM. I think MTP does look great but my son demonstrated that DPM was working better than my MTP every month without fail. Here is a pic of my son on the same day at the same site. when he is snug against a tree he's much harder to spot than I am in my MTP loadout. I'm guessing the answer is "No" noone knows or has any experience of what I'm asking which is cool, I may do some experimenting and see what I find out. editted for last bit & a bit of poor spelling

Good idea. This is not a pic of my loadout as it is now. The MTP is gone & I have replaced it with a OD UBACS & DPM trousers. I also now wear a fast helmet but that bit is not important (Thinking of getting a Kryptek Mandrake helmet cover for that)

Yeh I remember doing a full day about that kind of thing when in the kadets years ago was top fun I loved it. I'm more thinking out loud & asking for opinions wondering what other people thought about it than anything else

Yeh I usually look for shapes rather than colours (Well i'm serverly colourblind so thats how my eyes work). I'm not expecting camo to make me invisible, I'm just thinking of breaking up the patterning I have at the moment.

Hmmm I'm not sure weather to leave it as is or not. Not looking to change things for the sake of change but I was surprised how much I stand out to my background. The way I spot people is usually their silhouette, with plate carriers & helmets that is often the bigger give away. My son wears DPM & he blends in much better than me in MTP thats why I changed to the woodland camo I just think the large area on my chest is letting the colour range down a bit. Hmm ***strokes chin in thought***

Advice needed guys I was sent a pic of myself in the field during a skirmish & noticed that my loadout isn't as good as I'd hoped when it comes to concealment. Although I'm happy with the kit I have, I really think breaking up the colours I'm wearing will help. I have dropped the MTP scheme because I mainly play woodland in Autumn and didnt think it was working as well as the darker como's so now have DPM trousers with OD Ubacs & RICAS. The issue I can see is that my upper half is a big flat area of OD green. so I'm thinkig of changing my pouches & command panel to a differant camo pattern to break this large area up........ Well thats my thinking anyway. The natural option would be to go for a woodland camo like A-TACS FG, DPM or Mandrake etc but when talking to a mate he pointed out that to break up my shape maybe going for a colour change like A-TACS- AU would work better.......Now my head hurts !!! So I guess what I'm asking is does anyone have any experience with this kind of idea ? I have been googling this but nothing is really answering my question. Cheers in advance for useful opinions

Hi Qlimax I kind of pop on & off forums because too much involvement in any hobby can be oversaturation. Last summer I had a few bad games & then some bad luck that really hit me hard financially and it almost ended my airsoft hobby, I then went to a skirmish & it was an attrocious day (poor turn out, poor games, some of the regulars were being a bit arsey with each other & there was a really bad atmsphere) I just pretty much decided to quit. I really didnt see the point of it all. I have other hobbies that I love so have now gone back into them with more enthusiasm than before. but yet again I feel like going back to airsoft, so made a deal with myself, I will get on with my other persuits (Playing bass guitar & mountain biking) during the spring/summer months & go back to Airsoft in Autumn & Winter. for some reason because I will have a natural break between all the differant hobbies I have it feels as though skirmishing will feel new again when I go back to it. Because I have been away from it all for almost a year now I'm actually excited to go again......I'm riding my bike almost every weekend & playing Bass most nights, I now feel like I have found a balance in my life that wasnt there before. To me being creative is a part of me, feeling freedom & solitude is another.....then adrenline of being in a intense firefight is also a part of me. I found balance & it worked for me.....Maybe it may work for you, i'm not sure but thought I'd share my weird mind drivel with you in hopes that it could help. I hope this makes sense lol When My son was little I did find it hard to be away from him & if I did do anything away from home, I kind of felt guilty about leaving him & I was never that into what I was doing because of that. Now he's older I do most things with him so I kill two birds. All I can say mate, have a break, ask yourself what makes you happy & do that. Life is too short to worry about playing soldiers with others. life is about enjoying whatever your doing, not trying to enjoy it. I know If I wasnt getting a buzz from it, I'd chuck in the towel tomorrow with no regrets & move on with my life. Hope you get sorted mate. All the best & good luck with your decision Fumps

Ghillie him up & give him a M200 Intervention sniper rifle. He will be a scalp collector!!!!! My boy is really short for his age & wears all DPM, on his first skirmish he earned his airsoft nickname of "Ewok" He now has velcro tags that a regular made for him. My only issue is keeping up with him. If I ever loose him I just look for the most viscious & intense fighting & he will be there at the front giving it full welly!!!!!

I should have put more info on my first post really. look like the first one dancing.......dad dancing anyway. My son who was 11 at the time went to a paintball party, when he was coming back to the safezone he saw the guys coming back from airsoft. he never stopped talking about it and asked for a BB gun for Xmas, I decided to see how responsible he would be with one so I bought him a cheap springer pistol & he was extremely careful & respectful. the following year I decided to get him something with a bit more bite & found this community.....the more I read about it the more I kind of got into it myself. We now go together & use it as our time. fast forward to him turinging 13 this year and we are still loving it. Great people, fantastic community, top fun shooting strangers and laughing about it in the safezone.

To be honest now I have gone a few times I would say to anyone thinking of going on your own. Dont worry, its one of the most friendliest hobby's going people are always friendly & willing to welcome newcommers. go for it mate, you wont regret it
