  1. +1 on the OPS covers. They're bloody good for the money!
  2. Yeah, he isn't everyone's cup of tea! I met him in person at Red Alert and have been playing with him (oo-er) for a while. He's alright, just liked to wind people up on the internet (and sometimes took it a bit far). He's actually selling off most of his airsoft gear if you now anyone in the market for a tricked up SRS with a load of bits and bobs.
  3. Odd. It's an ASG M11 with 2 mags and a suppressor. From old site favourite @Duff in fact!
  4. +1 for AltaFlex pads. Before I moved to trousers with built in pads these were my go-to and they never ended up around my ankles. Top tip - try crossing the straps over in an X behind your knee.
  5. Yeah, at this point he's just kicking over pieces and shitting on the chessboard.
  6. Nice! Be interesting to see if it's all it's cracked up to be!
  7. If they declare a zero value on the CN22 it should be fine. Won't stop UPS losing it for all eternity of course but there you go!
  8. *moot point. You need to learn shit before you can forget it.
  9. So yeah. That's why we all started trying to help. But hey, you go for it. Just remember to get those push ups in, M4s and LA85s weigh more than your super specialised SMGs. You said that you assumed you'd need a longer barrelled gun to play outdoors, we explained why you didn't need to. All you've done since then is tell us that we're all wrong and that you didn't actually say that. Don't let the door hit your arse on the way out.
  10. Wow...OK. "Specialised platform" is marketing spin. It may be better in a CQB environment purely because it's short but that again isn't entirely true. At it's heart it's exactly the same as every other aeg out there, a motor spins gears that reciprocates a piston to provide motive energy to a BB that is given backspin by the hop as it travels down the barrel. As far as range or accuracy goes those are the parts that matter. Not the length of your handguard or the ergonomics of the mag release. As for age...you know what yes, I am older than you but that is totally irrelevant until it comes to running up hills (my knees are fucked but we've covered that elsewhere). The fact that I've been airsofting for a LOT longer than you IS relevant though because that gives me more real world experience than you have. If we stick to our beliefs then more often than not it's because we're right not because we're "set in stone".
  11. It's not hindsight if you knew it was going to happen To be fair, it probably is a bit disingenuous to blame Brexit for the entire shitshow. UPS are doing FAR worse than anyone else it seems.
  12. Nobody said it was your problem. I was explaining why your post may have been misinterpreted. The platform (specialised or not) is irrelevant, the critical points remain the same. Past 200mm barrel length you will not get massive improvements in range and accuracy by adding 100mm or so length. The most important factors are bore quality and hop effectiveness. Getting a longer barrelled M4 will not make you more accurate or have way better accuracy unless it also has a more effective hop unit and a better barrel than either your TK45c or your Firehawk (which is ENTIRELY possible given that they aren't the best to begin with). None of which should stop you from buying whatever you please (and I'm sure it won't). As for the MK23, no I mean good range and accuracy as an absolute regardless of platform.
  13. OK, let me put it this way - you have 29 posts up to this point. Those of us with higher counts have seen this conversation time and again so it becomes second nature to assume (rightly or wrongly) that the same reasoning is being applied. As far as the short length of the barrel goes - how would you explain the MK23? That has a 123mm inner barrel and yet is well known for its range and accuracy. The quality of the bore and the effectiveness of the hop unit/nub/rubber combination has far more effect on range and accuracy than an extra 100mm of barrel length.
  14. The bit I don't get is that we all knew this was coming. I know that some of us made their purchases pre-January in a bid to avoid all this but were unlucky but seriously - who bought after Jan 1st and didn't think there'd be an issue?
  15. Because there's endless posts from people on here that say they want a longer barrelled gun for woodland purely because they're under the misapprehension that anything much more than about 200mm makes more than three parts of fuck all difference to accuracy and range (on an AEG at least - bolties are a whole different can of badger turds). I refer you to my reply in the "Why did you start airsoft?" thread regarding the physics aspect.
  16. Try running your sling over your left shoulder and under your right (basically the opposite of what you've got).
  17. This has always been the case. It's always been cheaper but more hassle to order from abroad, we just got used to quite a smooth process built up over a number of years ironing out the kinks. Still...blue passports. Oddly, it might actually be easier to order in from China once the whole pandemic thing is FINALLY under control. Hong Kong already has a reciprocal tax agreement with the UK so in theory at least it should be similar to what we had with the EU. It'll take longer and potentially cost more to ship, but I seem to remember a time when if you didn't buy from the UK you were buying from places like Redwolf, RSOV etc.
  18. Now that's a plan! I seem to have this weird thing in my brain that attracts me to heavy guns. I really want a HK417 Recon at the moment, because my EBR just isn't awkward and front heavy ENOUGH!
  19. Yeah...I don't click on shit like that. You never know. Anyway, looks like someone hasn't been paying their hosting bill!
