  1. I have a WAS 901 chest rig with the back panel. Best of both worlds that way, you have the smaller, lighter chest rig with the added protection and MOLLE real estate of the back panel. I got mine as a set on ebay for £70ish if I remember correctly. Choose your pouches wisely and you'll be fine. I run two double M4 pouches (I can carry up to 8 mags at a time), a double pistol mag pouch, triple 40mm grenade pouch and a torch/suppressor pouch and there's still space on the front! If you only use the lower part of the chest rig you can fold the "bib" part down and tuck it away inside. You could also look at things like the Condor Recon rig which has mag pouches permanently attached which while a little less versatile is certainly cheaper (under £40 from Military 1st). I guess it's partly down to looks, partly down to practicality. I find a plate carrier is too sweaty to wear all day - a chest rig with just the straps is certainly lighter and airier!
  2. This. Most sites will have public liability insurance to cover themselves against people getting hurt. Pyro is the main issue here, insurance companies will want to approve any type of pyro used and will charge appropriately. It's why sites are so hot on only using specific pyro. Even an seemingly innocuous Mk5 can turn your hand to mince if you hold onto it for too long.
  3. We don't need to but it seems that a lot of people want to have an endless laugh at the expense of someone trying to do their job. Just seems a bit childish to me is all. Granted everyone needs to know that they are guilty of overselling some of their products and that they're not worth buying from but beyond that it's no better than taking the piss out of the special kid from the council estate at school. Personally I don't think it helps the sport to be taken seriously when this kind of thing keeps appearing in threads and statuses.
  4. I have an M95 in my M4 (CQB innit). So far it's had SHS helical gears (which came out again when I realised I am NOT a shimming ninja), SHS piston head, SHS nozzle, Kanzen 6mm bearings and will soon have the aforementioned delayer chip and a Lonex 14 tooth piston (the one with the second tooth already removed) plus (if it ever gets here) an Airlab sorbo pad to sort out the AoE and stuffs. It all started because it was shooting at around 220FPS and getting about 15m range regardless of the hop setup. The gun was cheap second hand and is no longer my primary (that honour goes to a G&G SCAR-L) so I decided to use it to learn how it all works (or more often doesn't). It's been educational. And expensive.
  5. Sooo....been buying stuffs FAB Defense 1911 grips Condor Gen 2 battle belt in CT (which I may have already mentioned but it took forever to get here from the US) WAS large torch/suppressor pouch (which despite being from the same supplier is a completely different colour from all my other WAS stuff - more brown than tan) Set of MOE rails for my M4 handguard SHS delayer chip and shim set (again for the M4 - proving that no matter how much you try you can't quite seem to improve on a TM gearbox)
  6. Really? After the discussion about having a manga painted gun?
  7. I sideline in custom paint. Just something to be aware of - the gun you posted originally would cost a small fortune to paint like that. Happy to try and help you out with it if you want though just be prepared to pay around twice the price of the gun (potentially more) if you really want paint and not transfers (which despite the fancy name is exactly what hydrographics are).
  8. OK so I know they sell crap guns to stupid people but really - do we need to endlessly fill the forum with crap like this? Doesn't it just seem a bit childish or is it just me?
  9. Let us know when, maybe we can organise a meeting up!
  10. How much did you have to spend to get them for free?!?!!
  11. The Oakley factory pilot gloves that you can get for around 30 odd quid were originally designed for extreme sports use, not military use. As a result they don't always last very well. They certainly have the gucci kit appeal but the ones often seen in military use are the fast rope version which is much more expensive!
  12. Mechanix, helikon or warrior assault systems is what I would go for.
  13. Seriously - component Shop.
  14. Condor Gen 2 Battle belt and a bunch of bits to get the M4 living again!
  15. The prices aren't significantly cheaper than www.componentshop.co.uk so I would stick with them. Less likely to get damaged in transit if nothing else (not so far to come).
  16. Try tightening the little screw in the back of the fire selector, it might be as simple as it slipping out of place. Used to happen on my TM M4 too.

    EGLM advice

There's often an MED for moscarts so check with the site (The Malls operates a 15ft MED for instance). Nobody needs a facefull of BBs even at 200fps!
  18. Cleaning? Errrmmm....I'll ask the wife.
  19. The problem there is that everyone has a different idea of "perfect". I'd like a high RoF, low FPS CQB beast, the next man might want a high accuracy DMR but we both want it to come in an M4. You can't please all the people. Ever, usually!

WAS 40mm grenade pouch (currently on sale for under £5 if you want tan or OD http://www.uktactical.com/p-8886-warrior-double-40mm-pouch-tan.aspx ). I have three ZCI gas shells from Zero one but one has already failed on me (not resetting). I use green gas (which is what they recommend). I've heard very good things about the SHS shells but nobody ever seems to have stock. Also the King Arms ones. The Madbull ones are incredibly expensive especially considering they are mostly the equivalent of a low cap (18 or so rounds in most cases)!
  21. This one? http://www.airsoftarmoury.co.uk/index.html They run the site shop at the Malls (and a couple of the other Zed Adventures sites I believe). They were also recently featured in AI magazine. Nice chaps, happy to recommend them.
