I thought the whole point of a clone was you get the same thing but a bit cheaper.

The whole point of a clone is to make the manufacturer money that they thought they were missing out on.

Is there on anyone on here that can help. I am looking for a lens protection solution for a Hikmicro Thunder 2.0 19mm.

I can’t find anything that would suffice. Has anyone come across something that will work on this scope?

    There's 3D print solutions for holders https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/tool/thermal-scope-lens-protector-for-airsoft-hikmicro-and-agm-agm-rattler-hikvision-thunder

You'll need a Germanium sacrificial lens to go in it, cheap ones are available for about £30 on Aliexpress.

Don't know - feel free to ask them! That's what my local fasteners had in on the shelf - I'm guessing they're the same specifications? Fits perfectly.

As in "screws for a Tippmann" or "screws made by a company called Tippmann but nothing to do with the airsoft/paintball manufacturer"?

Did they tell you what size they are though?

I'm sure someone will demand Viton® is the One True Material. ;)

I mean....it is. It's also complete overkill in our application!

    Yup.

Always change one thing at a time if you're not sure where a problem is.

Momentum is a made up value

Pretty sure there's a good few physicists that would argue the toss over that.

As for the relationship between energy and momentum, the maths is pretty bloody simple (for non-relativistic bodies anyway).

The kinetic energy of an object is related to its momentum by the equation:

    {\displaystyle E_{\text{k}}={\frac {p^{2}}{2m}}}

    where:

    • {\displaystyle p} is momentum
    • {\displaystyle m} is mass of the body

Momentum being the product of mass x velocity.

Thank you all for your wealth of experience and knowledge. I have enough information to make the choice that will suit my gameplay.

Just to answer, and narrow down the range of, a few concerns

I'm all up for comfort, but 13 years in two armies, including stints in Helmand, the Balkans, Kenya, Norway etc. have taught me to support way worse when it comes to sweating under a heavy helmet.

     - The why ? Purely fashion. I'm not after protection, I don't need it. I will however get accessories on it, including headset, I plan on getting NVDs, probably a strobe and/or counterweight.

    *EDIT*

P.S. Oh and I'm a medium size, I will however avoid one sized options.

If you just want a FAST style/opscore, of the cheap Chinese knock offs the FMA ones are definitely the better ones. They do have both dual sized (M/L, L/XL) ones and some REALLY cheap one size jobbers (avoid those). I have a "PJ" style FAST, a Maritime and a Team Wendy (all FMA) and they have been great. The PTS Flux is an officially licenced MTek copy and is better and more expensive than an FMA but if that's the style you want then it's a no-brainer.

Yeah I had a feeling they were, thankfully airsoft ones are just printed on (it seems). The printing idea is a great shout, I might have to give it a try

I've done it before on custom paint stuff. If you can, put some clear lacquer over the letters to stop then scratching off!

if your gun is travelling at 300 FPS, and your BB shoots 300 FPS, your BB will still be travelling at 300 FPS, because the speed of BB is constant regardless of frame of reference according to relativistic physics, it may look faster but it is experiencing time differently because of time dilation via Magnus effect applied by the hop up

What if it's on a treadmill?

It's not about momentum. It's energy. As you can see above they aren't the same.

    0.2BB at 100m/s drag is X Newtons.

    0.3BB at 85m/s drag is .72X N.

    FDrag prop to v²

    .2 v² is 10000

    .3 v² is 7225 or .72 of 10000.

Drag (force) is directly proportional to the square of the speed, other variables are the same.

    0.2BB acceleration is -Y ms²

    0.3BB acceleration is -.48Y ms²

    a prop to F

    a prop to 1/m

.3BB has .72 of the FDrag of the .2

.3BB has 1.5 of the mass of the .2

.72/1.5 = .48 of the acceleration of the .2, a deceleration in this case.

Acceleration is directly proportional to the force on the BB (less on the .3), and inversely proportional to mass (more on the .3).

You can see that the decceleration is less than half for a .3 at the same energy than the .2 .

The .2 will slow to match the .3 velocity but even thenen the .3 will lose velocity slower because of its 1.5 times more mass.

Only when the FDrag on the .3 is 1.5 times the drag on the .2, about 1.25 times faster than the .2 will they deccelerate at the same rate.

    I think :)

    It IS about momentum.

AND energy and wind resistance and air density and temperature, atmospheric pressure, aerodynamics and gravity.

  10. The big issue with canted sights is that the hop will fire the BB off to the left if you lean the gun over.

That said, I have canted irons on my SR25k and I've had reasonable results with a canted Docter/RMR style sight too. Personally I run a Vector Optics Sphinx on the top of my LPVO and that works well.

No, I think I'll be back at it for a good while now... gotta justify all the money I'm spending😝.

I like my Bolle x1000 but they would be much better with a fan. I need a new lense though and Bolle have discontinued the spare, clear lenses. Having to look at the X800 etc now, or buy the yellow lense for £45! Will see whichever option is the more cost effective.

If you're going down the X800 route, look at the X810 instead. They're the newer model, I have a pair and they are really pretty good (even without a fan).

Interesting information.   Do you have a suggestion for the best setting for this feature?

Titans have an issue with cheaper/low TPA motors. They may have changed this with later firmwares as the Asters I have don't seem to suffer the same problems.

AB is best turned off if you can and use the bare minimum you actually need, but as far as the Titans go, use better motors (I replaced mine with an ASG Ultimate CNC 28000 and it's been fine ever since).

Good questions. It's a stock WE F226. I've no idea how it hops yet as my living room is only about 5 metres wide! Lol

Then I would say use what you already have, set the hop and see if it's good enough. Don't worry about what other people use because it may well not work the same for you.

As title really, which weight of bb is good for a gbbp? I'll be playing outdoor, mainly woodland, with some CQB too.

What pistol? Is it stock? Does it hop well? All these things have more effect than purely the BB weight and where you play.

Personally, I use 0.28 in my pistol because that's what I have in my AEGs (mostly). My TM HK45 with a crazy jet barrel and Maple Leaf hop flings them with remarkable range and accuracy. My standard M9A1 that I haven't even set the hop in yet....not so much.

I re shimmed, and it's the stock motor.

Think I've solved the issue, sensors were caked in grease, must have put too much on and it got thrown across the mosfet. Also crimped the motor connectors a little and it's not reading any motor issues either.

    Feel rather thick now 🤣

    We've all been there!

Just FYI, they're not as bad as they used to be but if you use a lot of AB the carbon build up in the motor can make the Aster (although more prevalent with the Titan) lose the motor again. They tend to prefer using higher TPA motors.
