  1. Thanks for that. Of course just because it doesn't NEED much spent on it doesn't mean I'm not going to throw money at it like it's going out of fashion.
  2. Having now finished messing about with my M4 my attention has drifted towards my AK (CYMA CM045A AKS74U) and its noisy ass gearbox. Now - I would like to fit a TBB to improve the grouping but the main issue I have is that even with an M90 spring in it the fps is on the high side (I only just scraped under the 340 limit at the mall last time by chronoing it with the hop on) so I'm thinking of whacking in a sorbo pad but then I wondered about silent heads. So are they worth bothering with or not? I know the rest of the GB is a bit noisy anyway (it's a CYMA - go figure) but I'm looking to use it as a simple way of dropping the fps off a bit as well without dicking around cutting the spring. My M4 has the same M90 spring and the sorbo pad + AoE adjustment seems to help keep it under 340fps (barrel length is about the same 260mm for the AK, 300mm for the M4).
  3. If the trailer is anything to go by then yes.....I MUST have that.
  4. The Mall gets 100 players most Sundays.
  5. There's some pretty sweeping generalisations and what appears to be guesswork there.... And £30K a "real wage"? Not round this way!
  6. I see famasboy is back spamming the for sale ads...

  7. ta-dah! http://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/inner-barrels/zci-inner-barrel-275mm
  8. They also do a box of 5 for roughly half the price: http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-magazines-c3/high-capacity-c51/dytac-300rds-magazine-for-m4-aeg-black-box-of-5-p2896
  9. So if he does it we need a video.
  10. The new Nanos are smaller but I've just taken delivery of the new Pico AAB. Very nice - prewired and heatshrunk so better (in my opinion) that the old barebones style Pico. It'll be going into either my M4 or my AK so I'll let you know how that goes!
  11. Just bought mine from ApexTac on ebay. Cheap as chips.
  12. Surely having the second sight bolted on just gets in the way?
  13. I agree - but I think it's down to the type of players that come on a Sunday as opposed to the ones that come on a Thursday. I've had Sundays that have flowed exceptionally well with 100 players and Thursdays that have just been one big choke point! Last trip I had there in November there were so few players that using the whole site seemed pointless and people still managed to choke up at the bottom of the back stairs! Thursdays are a bit more...tactical for want of a better word. There's less rentals and more regulars that know the layout which helps.
  14. I have an Element M600c and it is good. Just be aware that the tape switches can fail over time but that can happen with any of them. I also have a couple of M300c Night Evolution torches on the way so I'll let you know how they are as and when (they're the shorter single battery version).
  15. Nothing wrong with a bit of Mary Poppins!
  16. IMax B6 AC charger, Gate Electronics Mosfets (Nano AAB is a nice one).
  17. Main difference is the tail switch the main thing to bear in mind is that while the CREE LED is important for brightness it's the lens and reflector that determine focus and throw. Any sub £50 torch just isn't going to be made to the sort of spec that it would need to achieve what you're looking for ie - you're after something unachievable at your price point.
  18. You don't need to be a grown up to enjoy the Mall. I'm certainly not. Just the same as anywhere really - try not to be a dick. And learn to love running up and down stairs in the dark.
  19. So how many players do they usually limit to? What area is each floor? I agree that if you have a large site with too few players (or indeed marshals) it can get a bit Billy No Mates but The Mall with 100 players is generally fine. On a Thursday night with only 30 it can get pretty lonely roaming the corridors on your own. Although it can get a bit tense wandering about in the dark on your tod.
  20. Good deal, but be aware that those visors are not rated for airsoft impacts!
  21. 2000 sq feet is pretty small. For instance - the Mall is more like 250 thousand square feet and is comfortable for about 100 players. I guess if you're looking for the US style warehouse full of hessian and plywood buildings though smaller would work. Just not 2000sqft small in my opinion.
  22. It's an ICS short KAC QD one. Had to hunt high and low for it but found one on Ehobby Asia in the end. There's a couple of different short KAC QD ones out there but being a bit anal about getting the right one it had to be the ICS one as it has 9 holes along the length of the cover. Weighs a crapping ton though. The barrel extends through it so I've managed to keep it at 300mm. Detail whore that I am it is winding me up that the rail is half an inch too long, it's the wrong EO Tech and I don't have the right rear sling mount but screw it, it's cost me a small fortune in parts already! Which of course means there will most likely be some M4 front end bits going up for sale in the near future!
  23. Finally got my M4 back together after much wailing and gnashing of teeth over barrel lengths and nut threads! I present my Strike Back Stonebridge-esque impression: Assuming you can make it out in the background clutter! Laser is sat being all redundant as unfortunately the gun is front wired (plus the battery space in an MOE stock is nonexistent) so I've had to use a PEQ box (not strictly canon for a SB Stonebridge M4 but there you go - needs must). Torch is around somewhere but I'm waiting on a new short scout troch to go instead.
  24. Yep, all too often people spend a fortune on upgrades and convince themselves that their gun is better than it actually is. Plus no amount of tactical frippery makes up for being a crap shot!
  25. I'd happily recommend the g&g.
