So...camo rather than "worn" then? That'll be a tan base with brown and green splodges lovingly applied with a sponge then allowed to wear off on high traffic areas. Pretty simple really. Probably a lot less work than Chocks rather impressive dry brushing work.
Yeah - my profile says it's a TM M4A1 but there's probably less than a half dozen parts that are still original (even less since I changed the outer barrel and lost the front sight post). Probably the motor, gearbox casing and the buffer tube and screw. Yeah, that's about it. Actually the inner barrel is the original but it's been cut down so yeah...not original!
M90 spring, chronos at about 330-335fps if I remember correctly. 300mm barrel, sorbo pad, AoE correction, original TM EG1000 motor and a Gate NanoAB mosfet.
Never EVER buy a CYMA M4. Ever.
The AKs and M14s though are generally excellent value for money. The lower model number AKs are TM clones so have more plastic parts the CM40 models and above are VFC clones so are all metal and wood and built well. Don't let the price fool you. Excellent guns.
What would shipping be like from Poland though? Taiwangun have complete gearboxes: http://www.taiwangun.com/en/gearbox-set-v-3-cm?from=listing&campaign-id=20
It's a bit of a pain to get out if I remember correctly but all looked pretty standard from the top- I didn't take it out of the lower/pistol grip to see the lower part
TM - short for Tokyo Marui, manufacturer of high quality (and price) airsoft weaponry (among other things) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Marui
WE - another manufacturer of airsoft weaponry. Quite a name in the gas blowback market but making significant inroads in the electric market too http://www.weairsoft.com/
DMR - Designated Marksman Rifle basically the weapon of a soldier fulfilling a role partway between sniper and infantryman http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Designated_marksman_rifle
"they take 100% TM parts" - Tokyo Marui were the first to design a number of parts for airsoft (the hop up unit for example) so many other manufacturers have copied them This means that many airsoft weapons being based on Tokyo Marui designs will take Tokyo Marui parts which can be better than the manufacturers parts as the copies are usually produced to a lower cost. Often a phrase applied to sniper rifles based on the Tokyo Marui VSR10.
SanDisk would be my recommendation too. I use them in my camcorder (HD Sony jobber) and they're great if a little more pricey. Pixmania usually have the best prices.
Welcome! You could try here: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/12854-new-player-guides-info/
What sort of things are you looking for? Any terms you've already seen and need to know?
If you want to get stuff 3D printed without all the tedious faffing about of buying a decent 3D printer, try www.shapeways.com
Cheaper than buying your own printer and probably better quality than anything you could do yourself with a cheap printer anyway.
There is a VFC torch specifically for the 1911 but I'm not sure who would still have one in stock. It mounts without needing a rail (attaches via the slide release) if you want something "correct" otherwise you're looking at an aftermarket rail that attaches as per PT247's post or changing the frame to one with a rail moulded in.
