  1. ICS Galil, LST VSS (might be out of your price range and rare as hens teeth).
  2. Ok, at that budget the world is pretty much your oyster. Anything in that price range will have a decent metal gearbox so that's not an issue (bearing in mind that it will have a plastic nozzle/piston/piston head but that is not necessarily a bad thing). G&G - any of the top tech range which will have a metal receiver and barrel so it's purely down to looks and practicality (an M4 will be more maneuverable, an M14 EBR Long is about the same weight as Guildford etc) G&P - again pretty much any of them will be pretty decent. A lot of their range comes will extras thrown in (for example they do an M16 with M203 launcher, a Masterkey M4 with an underbarrel shotgun etc) Tokyo Marui - any of their standard range plus maybe the low end of the Recoil range. Don't be put off by their low FPS. CYMA - any of the AKs with model numbers CM040 or above (below this they will be TM clones and have more plastic bits) or the M14 range but definitely not any of their M4s. Have a gander at www.proairsoft.com as they have a pretty decent range of guns (although many of them ARE out of stock it will at least give you indication of price and looks/parts etc). Just out of interest, what are the "specific set of requirements" you have that are driving you along this path? Many of the fibre re-inforced polymer receivers on the market are stronger and lighter than the metal ones they're competing with!
  3. OK - by "a few hundred" you're covering a whole load of bases from mid range G&Gs right up to top of the line Tokyo Marui Recoils. There is a massive jump in price from that up to PTWs so are we talking "up to £500" or "up to £300"? Sorry for being picky - just trying to get the details right so we don't start recommending completely the wrong thing!
  4. Try warming the mags up in your pockets first. Could just be the gas is too cold.
  5. Actually - having said all that, sounds to me like you need an AK. Maybe this one: http://www.taiwangun.com/en/cm-048m-cm?from=listing&campaign-id=19
  6. Budget? Also - most sites won't let you use a full auto capable AEG over 350FPS so you'll need to change your expectations there. Most AEGs will have some plastic. Be it the pistol grip, the stock or the handguard it's very unlikely that you will find something that is ALL metal. Mostly due to the fact that most real assault rifles aren't ALL metal anyway. Apart from AKs of course.
  7. I've had a good look about and I don't think you can easily buy the thread adaptor on its own unless someone has one second hand.
  8. Right - you're definitely missing a part. There should be a threaded adaptor ring that is 14mm CCW internally and 22mm CW externally. This: http://aegcartasia.com/fh07.html is the D-Boys flash hider WITH the threaded adaptor you need. This is the CYMA version of the same thing which will also fit http://www.rsov.com/product.php?langId=1&currencyId=4&manufacturerId=10&prodId=17039&cateId=70
  9. Unfortunately that is still sold by Fireforce USA using Amazon as a store front.
  10. The only similar thing I could find in the UK is this: http://ant-supplies.co.uk/Pages/NeopreneButtstockShellHolders.aspx which might work with a bit of modification. Unfortunately nobody seems to want to ship the Fire Force one outside the US.
  11. Depends what batteries you want to run it with and how the Mosfet was wired in to begin with. Personally I'd say whip out the knackered module and replace it with a Gate Pico AAB. They're good, they're cheap and they're reliable.
  12. No it'll increase the rate of fire and introduce a whole host of other issues. Better to either cut down your spring a bit or change it for a lower powered one.
  13. Yes. Unless you like buying batteries of course. In that case - as you were :-)
  14. DO NOT TRICKLE CHARGE LiPo BATTERIES. You will fuck them up. If you have a 1300mAh LiPo battery for example you should charge it at 1.3A. Most LiPo batteries will state 1C charge rate although some can be fast charged at 5C (I have a 2600mAh one that can fast charge at 5C - just not so happy with charging it at 13A! )
  15. This makes more of a difference than many people realise. Also - looking at the places you play at I'd go with the M90 spring.
  16. Really? I'm hearing they tend to shake themselves apart...
  17. Eh? Why are you tying knots in it?
  18. Have it. If it's shit it's a good place to learn how to upgrade an aeg.
  19. My mistake, couldn't see the end of the barrel in the first shot. Mk18 mod 0.
  20. I'm going to go out on a limb here (I'm sure others can confirm or correct me) but from this and other pics of him and his team mates I'd say that's an M4A1 with SOPMOD block 1 parts fitted NOT a MK18. Either way, as you say all the parts are available from the interwebz and the rifle in he uses in the film (which I'm guessing is what the OP was actually asking about) is a MK12 SPR.
  21. This might help: http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Lone_Survivor
  22. Ah the good old days of VH1 - when MTV still meant music television!
