  1. £220? he's hardly remortgaged his house!
  2. mechanix are top notch, if you get fastfits they're cheap too.
  3. they're 'special' but Special Forces for the US military means the US Army Special Forces. It's a common misconception over here, largely because UKSF covers 22SAS/SBS/SFSG/18 Sigs/SRR etc so anyone in any of those units is referred to as Special Forces (or support), the US Army however have a unit that is specifically called Special Forces, otherwise known as Green Berets. Worth noting that for UK stuff now, 21 and 23 SAS are no longer under the umbrella of the directorate of UKSF and are now part of 1st intelligence and surveillance brigade.
  4. Legal to own... illegal to import without a suitable defence. Which as far as customs are concerned is UKARA or nothing. No such thing as a license, never has been, never will be.
  5. Chock, 'Special Forces' when referring to US military units ( certainly with official sources) almost always means US Army Special Forces, other wise known as green berets. They're a specific unit split into 7 groups. It's a common misconception that the term special forces refers to all SOCOM and JSOC units, or anyone that's not conventional infantry... But with the yanks, it's just that one unit; US Army Special Forces.
  6. was looking more at Milsim West, as they tend to be a bit more hardcore. Last thing I'd want is to fly thousands of miles only to find that it's a big themed tan vs green skirmish.
  7. I personally do my paintjobs in a more 'organic' way than that; I paint it so it's pristine and perfect, then I use it and the wear happens naturally! Don't go heavy with the paint, a light dusting is better than a heavy coat as it'll bond with the flat areas just as well as a heavy coat but it'll chip away easier on the rails/grip/magwell/etc.
  8. heavier the better, I aim to have between 260 and 300 fps with whatever ammo I'm using regardless of the energy output; that's the sweet spot where you have the best trade off for travel time vs BB stability in flight.
  9. Won't do you any good in your corridor, go out and get some shots in-game
  10. Yep, the combination of the fan and the thermal lenses makes them pretty fog proof
  11. Me and the rest of the Cobalt guys have kinda made it our mission to get to a MSW game sometime in 2015-16, should be good to see how the yanks do it compared to Stirling and Tier1 over here. Will require a fair amount of planning getting a load of guns onto planes and a load of gen3 night vision and various other ITAR shit into and out of the US
  12. ESS make thermal lenses for their goggles already, I have one in my profile turbofans, they won't make any for their glasses though... what's the point? Air can get in on either side so the whole premise of having 2 panes of plastic is negated.
  13. Reference condor, people give it a bad rap because a lot of airsofters use it, but it's made in the US and berry compliant. That alone puts it a jump ahead of quite a lot of the clone gear.
  14. Osprey is wank though, certainly if I were getting shot at with real bullets the coverage it provides would be welcome but for airsoft it's just not all that good an option. CKinnerley's suggestion for the tactical tailor plate carrier is right on the money, I had no idea they made a basic plate carrier for that little money. Nothing you'll be able to get from China will come close tactical tailor in quality.
  15. For less than a hundred quid you'll be hard pressed to find something 'decent', there is serviceable stuff to be had in that price bracket though. I bought one of the carriers chock linked when I first started, my advice is to avoid like the plague. They're beyond garbage, wonky molle, loose stitching, shiny nylon, adjustment holes are just circles burned into the straps. TMC and Flyye do some really quite nicely made stuff for a reasonable budget. I'd look into 6094 style carriers as they're fairly ubiquitous and easy to adjust without complete disassembly. Flyye make a very nice 6094, the TMC 6094 slick with assault panel is also quite nice for the price. EBairsoft are a halfway decent place to go for TMC items, though it'll take a while for them to ship, if you're in a hurry I'd recommend the flyye 6094a.
  16. Even then, a stirling weekender at an MOD training area like STANTA or Copehill down is normally £65. Admittedly I see that as being awesome value, but that's 24-36 hours of play at a site with facilities and features that no warehouse can EVER emulate.
  17. worth having a chat with Ian at milspecsolutions; http://www.milspecsolutions.co.uk/ra-tech-npas-valve-for-ksc-kwa-mp7-and-system-7-gbb.html says there some customers have had success using it in the VFC.
  18. that and a CQB warehouse big enough for 100 players to not make it overcrowded.... that's gonna cost more than 70k a year just in rent.
  19. yeah, put an M120 spring in that and if it cycles (which I don't think it will) you'll smash the front off the gearbox instantly.
  20. simple enough to do, but also completely unnecessary, you'll be able to fit a LiPo inside the buffer tube of a G&G gun no problem.
  21. If you order from Hong Kong you can get an element M600 for much less than that, I wouldn't pay more than £25 for one. A UK seller isn't going to honour a warranty on a piece of cheap clone hear any more than a chinese one.
