You'll need more than 1 spare mag for CQB main weapon use - the ROF is 'kin ridic, mate! That's a great job on the EOTech cover (Y) If you do the camo paintjob faster than is recommended, ie don't bother to let previous layers dry, just spray 2 layers of tan and then sponge on the blobs while it is still tacky, you will be able to easily rub the paint off high traffic areas with kitchen roll dipped in thinners. Remember that soldiers are not artists - if you get a couple of drips in the 2nd tan coat because you are spraying it into awkward cavities that's a good thing - maybe use a finger to wipe them off so it looks even crapper. The slide is a 'high traffic area' also because it moves on the real steel. Once you have it looking good, finish it with 3 coats of Krylon Clear Coat - this time do it properly, ie in light layers.

Skirmish CQB and Skirmish The Stan allow 350 +5% = 368FPS, but no full auto indoors. I think it's fine, but then again I always wear a mesh 1/2 face mask... It makes sense for their customers who have their guns set up for the woodland site to be able to use them without modification at their other sites.

I would suggest you have a hold of a few different assault rifles before making your choice. There are issues of ergonomics to each broad design type which may/may not suit you. Oh and check this out.

Yeah, your friend is talking out of his arse. It's the older Ares guns you need to beware of and their M4 is an old design. I have a vintage Ares gun, an L1A1, and it is a real pain in the hole. The CM16 and CM18 are internally the same beast, iirc, so pick whichever's looks you prefer. You will not be disappointed by either. Is there a particular reason why you want an AR-15 variant? Have you tried shouldering any other assault rifles?

No I don't think I have tried Tullemore Dew, mate. I have enjoyed Laphroaig before though but the standard 10yr old is a bit of a hooligan, in the same way the Talisker is. For a more complex and smoother drop their Quarter Cask stuff is good...

Yeah, a good greasing goes a long way to improving air seal which boosts FPS and makes it more consistent. Another place to grease is the base of the cylinder head spout so that it makes a good seal against the air nozzle internal o-ring (if it has one - if not sack it and get one that does). But only the base because you don't want it to get forward enough to be blasted off the inside of the nozzle down the barrel.

Use silicone oil to soak o-rings (just put a few drops in a little ziploc baggie with the o-ring) and CT-2 Teflon suspended in silicone grease on the cylinder and the piston head edge + o-ring and the piston rails.

I just want to point out that there are many other guns than AR-15 variants and, as much as you may see yourself with nothing else, before you buy you should at least have a feel of a few different assault rifles and an SMG or two. To see how the layout of the controls suit you and what it's like to reload I would suggest trying any old M4, or indeed the CM18 MOD1, an AK-47 or 74, a G36C or better a KV, an MP5 SD5/6 if poss or A4 for the classic style, an MP7, and a bullpup - an L85A2, FAMAS, TAR-21, or Chinese Type 97. There are loads of things which will prove more useful for skirmishing than a pistol. Spare mags, something to carry them in, spare battery, kneepads, better boots &/or socks, alternative eyepro, gloves, BFG and pouch / pouch for MK5 pyros...

Gotta respect the commitment, Cavninja. Shame it's gone into what is ultimately a spiffy version of what at least 60% of UK airsofters are wearing & carrying. Just imagine how individual you could have been with a Modern Russian loadout... there are so many patterns of camo and uniform cut that you could be pretty certain to be the only one in the UK...

Oh i dunno, i've put my 1/2 face on top of my head to have a fag in game before - long games with long walks to regen, that kind of thing, but also whilst just giving myself time to recover from running while at regen i've been known to spark up. In theory it's not allowed at Skirmish, because it's woodland... and pyro's are less likely to cause fires? My hole. So i do it anyway.

Zoomable Cree XM-L T6 + 18650 Battery & Charger ignore the 2200lm max output, that is just a theoretical maximum of the LED, but whatever the output actually is, these put out enough light for any airsoft situation and are lightweight. If you want an 'offensive torch', one that is proper painful to look towards, search XML T6 on ebay.com (so that you're buying at prices aimed at yanks, but they come from China anyway so it makes no difference) and find the zoomable type which takes 2 x 18650 batteries. Actually for a little bit more you can find these zoomable torches in 6061 and 7075 aluminium, rather than zamak aluminium alloy which is heavier.

I'm weird. Not a gear-snob, but definitely outside most social norms. I classify sites by what I call their ACF, or Absolute Cock Factor. Roughly speaking the more often you find yourself thinking, "You absolute cock!" as a result of someone's behaviour/speech, the higher the ACF, and the longer I give it as a mental cross through future dates at that site. For sure absolute cocks can turn up new to the site, but if the general atmosphere maintained by the marshals is hostile to knobheadery, without being hostile to the perpetrators, they will be either on the bus or under it. Good marshalling takes more than just knowing the rules and how to pull players on infractions without turning into a jobsworth. Sites which maintain a good ethos tend to be run by people who have been involved in the sport for quite a long time, although that doesn't mean that the particular site has been operating for a long time, nor is experience a guarantee of good psychology - Anzio Camp for eg. Your best bet is to look for independent reviews of sites you consider visiting. We have reviews on here, although it is a somewhat neglected forum, or there's the FB group airsoft sites in the uk reviewed; not sure i'd take what gets printed in the likes of Airsoft International without a pinch of salt though...
