  1. Insanity... doing the same PC based thing over and over on an airsoft forum and expecting different results and for me: 4 polystyrene heads upon which to display my gas masks and helmets
  2. Only way to get some myself really - I'm going to be wearing mine on my hydration pouch 2moz, so I hope to get a pic in game. It will be good to see everyone else's in game too - 'kin hilarious!
  3. Yeah, I'd imagine so too, but I have seen it mangled so it is possible - I'm guessing that if you don't fit the hooks properly they rip out. The only stuff I can remember the proper name for is "Twin Slot" - it's not as inherently customisable as peg board, but it is definitely strong enough to take any of the abuse hanging guns from it may present and, being steel, it doesn't scuff up.
  4. Peg board is really versatile and relatively hardwearing, but only if used right - if you accidentally overload it, it tears easily and looks so shit - like a 1970's hardware shop TBF it doesn't look much good even when it's freshly painted. You might be able to find something cooler intended for shopfitting. Perhaps even cheap on fleabay if you're prepared to collect it in person.
  5. We can only hope so, but this is only the 2nd and, of course, whether it continues will depend on how popular it is - if all places get filled, the budget for the event will work as the organisers have imagined; if it falls short of numbers, then they may end up losing money, which will obviously be a bad omen for future events. Have you read what people said about the first one? Apparently it was such a laugh charging into battle against NATO on the back of a BRDM, but this will have even more vehicle stuff plus other Russian drill
  6. OK ppl, all but 1 of them was posted at 13:02 today, 2nd Class Signed For. If anyone wants a tracking number please pm me with your postcode. @Albiscuit: I still do not have your address or confirmation of who you are IRL, so I cannot be certain it is you who paid for a patch and, even if I could, I can't post it to you... I've PM'd and emailed you; what more do I have to do, mate?
  7. I made the pads out of a couple of bits of camping mat covered in some nylon. The velcro makes it easy to wash them, because if you just stick some foam to the inside, as I did with my first attempt woodland colour mask, it absorbs sweat and stinks but is a right ballache to actually clean. The pads move the edge of the mask out a bit so you can wear pretty much any eyepro and it wont cause problems with the mutual fit. Tip: stitch the the velcro to the cloth before sewing the shape of the cover.
  8. This: Then add velcro and pads to the cheekbone areas like this: The velcro on the nose bit is because my nose is big enough to rub on the mesh, so the velcro loops are more comfortable.
  9. Here is the digital proof: Expected to be made today and posted to me tomorrow so you lot may just get them by Saturday am. To make the crown work as embroidery and still maintain sufficient gaps between it and the text, plus a margin that will protect the embroidery from being wrecked by peeling/sticking the patch we have had to settle on a new size, slightly bigger: 76x60mm. Hope that meets with your approval, because I've agreed it so if not it's tough titty...
  10. This event was sold out, but due to people dropping out, there are now about 7 places available.
  11. That's a job moved up the list of things that need to get done! Thanks...
  12. Yeah mate, I'm the same - do the 5p but not got round to drilling them yet.
  13. Oh it's an ongoing thing - gets better, gets worse, ad nauseam... but thanks for the wishes.
  14. Treating the VCRA with the contempt it deserves is definitely the way forward.
  15. There has been a slight balls up because Facebook deleted Stitch Meup's page and they lost the chats with the instructions, plus i've been unwell so not online much, thus their requests for repeats of the info had fallen on deaf ears until just now. However they have the deets now and have said i'll have the patches this week. You lot will have 'em as soon as post will allow...

  17. Those shooting glasses were not adequate eyepro for airsoft anyway, even if they hadn't been made from recycled bog paper. There are gaps all around them. Mental!
  18. I use a Thunder B CO2 grenade basically because I bought some cheap in the mistaken belief that they would be allowed at the National Airsoft Event at Ground Zero. They are not - the best thing I can say about them is that once the enemy know what they do, ie how loud they are and how much they jump when they go off, they create a definite intimidation factor, but they are very unpredictable in how long it takes them to go off from the moment of spoon release - not that you need to worry about them going off in your hand, but that they can take ages, half a minute or even longer... I've also recently bought an Oshiboom impact BFG which i've used effectively at a woodland site for approaching enemy cover under suppressing fire and dropping over/around it. I would never be without lit stick bangs though, just because you can throw them a lot further: ideally MK9's just because they are big enough to throw properly, but MK5's will do. The thing to remember about them is that the strikers can be quite unreliable, so keeping half the cover of a box of Cook's Matches handy is the way forward, or one/some of our own NH Shooter's MK5 flashbang holder/strikers. To prevent loss of expensive reusable grenades I attach key finder fobs to them with tape.
  19. You may be surprised by how much goes on behind the scenes to police the content of the Classifieds. I think I speak for the entire mod/admin team when I say that it is a point of pride that what we do does remain mostly unnoticed, because we want the forum to maintain its relaxed atmosphere, but when questions which involve legality are asked openly, we must respond openly. I totally get it that sometimes people do bang on at unnecessary length and sometimes, because what they have said is incomplete or seems misleading to another member, that provokes further discussion. However it's an internet forum ffs: surely everyone knows when they first post that some members of the forum will be more knowledgeable than others and that whatever they ask may take a few replies to get a complete answer...
  20. I often wonder just how far people who claim to support Castle Doctrine have thought the consequences through. Do they really want to live in a place where those who decide to burgle consider a deadly weapon as essential kit for the job? If history has taught us anything about crime, it is that, no matter the harshest deterrent, people who are desperate or nuts will still do it. Apparently escalating the arms race between homeowners and criminals does not prevent crime, but it does increase the expense of feeling secure. How many people can afford private security? Who wants to live in a gated community, even if they can afford it? Who would rather pay the premium for such houses and obey the lawn-height, et al, neighbourhood bylaws, than spend that money on a bigger back yard, or better holidays, or more RIFs/gear? For the sake of what exactly? Be honest... All this hardcore talk is not about protecting anyone, it's about pride. The outrage of it! How dare somebody mess with you!
  21. ^^You think we should not concern ourselves with the possibility that something may be stolen? Or is it the legality of sales of RIF's which bothers you? Personally I think the VCRA is bad law and actually does nothing towards its stated aim, but nonetheless it is the law and we, as members of a responsible forum, must advise accordingly.
  22. Between pics and asking you to measure bits once i've seen it, yeah I may well be able to help.
  23. Yeah but you go light to 2 dayers, because you don't have a car, right? So you're not likely to be taking a heavy wooden box with you, eh? So extra charging facilities in it are neither here nor there. As others have said, just get another spare battery. 3 x 1300-1450mAh LiPo's between them will last for a 2 day event unless you're a support gunner. If you are concerned that you may be running low by Sunday afternoon, or want to be able to help other people out, you could take the charger and the crocodile clip leads so that you could attach it to someone else's car if the need arises - I did that at NAE13, although it turned out that I didn't have a combination of adapters that could charge a battery with a Large Tamiya connector and that was the only request for help for which it would have come in handy - gear lugged and never used V^^VGrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
