  1. Don't encourage him! He'll never end up with a working gun on an airsoft site at this rate!
  2. Soviet 6B5 Body Armour Cover - $61.95 posted ~ fleabay
  3. Yeah, I really don't like FB either, but with so many people using it for events and info, I had to relent and make a profile. I have been sucked into playing games on it a couple of times, but these days my attitude is fixed curmudgeonly - airsoft and actual mates only / everything else can fuck off and die.
  4. Chock got the Black Viper version and turned it into a just-skirmishable RIF. Check here for the full story.
  5. 551 replicas are good for limited rail space, but you can't fit rechargeable batteries in 'em. I'm not so sure that the WE one would be any better than any other Chinese manufactured clone, like this for eg which is cheaper. But if a 552 will fit, that is what I'd get, because it will take rechargeable AAA batteries. At some point in the future you could also add an EOLAD laser fitted cover to either a 551 or 552, although tbh except indoors they are strictly for the coolsies because they're no use outdoors. The T1 on a high mount is currently the height of fashion but, unless you can get it fairly close to your eyes, the fact that it is small and a tube, as opposed to a simple window, cannot but put a fairly sizeable chunk of blind spot on your dominant eye, which for sure will be compensated for by the brain filling in based on what it gets from your other eye, but i'm not sure that's adequate when you're looking for camouflaged opposition in bushes at 60+ metres.
  6. I have one and I was getting around 260 from the stock set up, iirc. Definitely no lower than 250. As 2_0 said, contact the retailer - who knows whether it's the piston head, the O-ring, or the air seal nozzle not making good contact with the hop rubber, but whatever it is the retailer should either ifx it or replace the gun.
  7. For more details join the FB group Russian Military Airsoft Loadouts UK. Those who went to the first one all say it was a great day - this time it's going to be a longer event
  8. In theory new members should say hello here, but this is a more popular forum so i'm OK with leaving this thread here. Welcome to the forums
  9. I just measured mine to check for you. There are 2 problems: 1) the shape of the attaching-flanges is for a simple dovetail, not an offset 90° angle like a Picatinny rail, and 2) it's only 18mm wide. You would be able to file the right shape and width into the front of the carry handle, but not the rear because it's too thin, there would not be enough width left for strength. The only way to overcome that problem would be to glue some aluminium or steel plates to the sides just under the scope and then proceed with the file. You could use a power tool if you had the right shape cutting wheel and, if not, i would try to find someone who does, because doing it by hand with needle files would be extremely tedious.
  10. It depends on the site. Recently @Skirmish The Stan i went into battle with a Cold Steel Black Bear training knife against someone with a Cold Steel tomahawk... killed him with a tap on the shoulder... and was killed by someone with the standard M9 plastic M4 bayonet... I've seen 29.5" Cold Steel bokkens at Ground Zero and their gladius at Skirmish Woodland, Budby, where I have used a 2' hollow plastic machete. I've also seen a hollow plastic baseball bat at Tac House Spartan and taken a hard plastic telescopic lightsaber to MCG The Gaol. Weekend just gone Bottledtorment used a mannequin arm to get a kill at Combat Ready, Derby and before that he has used a bar of soap at MCG The Gaol, although the victim declined to take that hit. But some sites are very strict on the flexibility of any blade and the shape of any point. The rule is always that a kill is achieved by a light tap on the shoulder/some other part of the body and whisper "knife kill" whereupon the victim is supposed to put their hand up and walk off to regen silently, ie without shouting "hit!" and giving away the knife killer's position. So since we are all wearing eyepro and nobody should be wielding it anywhere near the face, risking knocking someone's eyepro off, it makes sense that Cold Steel trainers are allowed, because although you could in theory hurt somebody with one, if you whacked or jabbed your victim really hard, you could do that to them with an AEG... my point being that that is not how you use an AEG and nor is it how you use a melee weapon in game. Edit to add: thanks for the link. I ordered one, but they are not in stock they have to get them in so it will be 4-6 weeks and then they send an email with the payment details. in total it will be about 2700 Yen including Registered Airmail, or about £14.50 happy days!
  11. Nearly right. It's an ARSE. ^^Bet that bloke in his pants is from Texas.
  12. It's manufactured by Modox and afaik they have a good reputation, but i don't think it is a general issue item. Having said that, Russian armed forces are not completely centrally supplied, like the MOD here, so for eg units have been photographed wearing surplus German flecktarn (with the flag still on the left arm), so it wouldn't surprise me if some unit somewhere are using that Modox SS Leto suit. Same with the Bars one I ordered from profarmy.
  13. I wouldn't last long because my health problems require some complex and expensive meds - i do have a stash of the most difficult to get hold of which would last a few months used as frugally as poss and a lot of camping and survival gear, so i spose i would give it a go. But tbh unless i could link up with some people whose company i enjoy, i wouldn't bloody bother. I've reached a stage in life where survival for the sake of surviving doesn't seem like a given. I'm more concerned about quality of life and if it degenerated into living in fear 24-7, scrounging the merest calories necessary to sustain life, being cold & wet more often than not, not to mention in pain due to health problems, fighting people over what today we would consider the poxiest of resources... nah, a nice peaceful bottle of scotch and a massive handful of morphine and good night...
  14. Trunk hits don't count, but you will have to paint him half a bright colour unless you get a UKERA licence.
  15. On the 15th I bought a KWA Tokarev TT-33 mag from AEGcartAsia.com and a few of us have chatted about their low prices for mags; if anyone was waiting to see how others got on with them, it arrived yesterday. Eight days is pretty good from Hong Kong and they enclosed a 5% discount code for my next order. So yeah, I'm recommending them.
  16. You might want to consider a microphone connected to your timer circuit to count shots fired.
  17. Don't need one anyway is my point.
  18. A fuse is a high resistance component. Thus it has no place in my guns, because I'm always wanting the best trigger response I can get. Yeah, it provides protection against things like short circuits melting your wires, but they don't prevent the short and burning out will not prevent the short from cooking a MOSFET, so it's not much use to me, because the only time i ever get shorts is while i'm teching a gun and not paying full attention.
