  1. When you click 'view new content' make sure that you've not clicked off 'new since my last visit' or 'content I've not read' over on the left hand side of the page. I had the same problem a while back!
  2. D'oh. VZ58 woes continue. It chronos at or around the stated 320fps...without hop. But in order to get enough hop to lift .28s, it increases to the equivalent of 365-370. D'oh. :(

It's certainly possible. Never had an Aeg where hop increases the power!

Gonna drop the store a message & get them to have a look at it.

May as well make use of my warranty whilst I have it; especially with an Ares gearbox! ;)

Prompted me to give it bit more of a google as hop-up increasing fps was v curious. Seems there is a threshold for it increasing it, although you getting 40fps off it suggests it's bit over-volumed too (not to a point where it'll cause issues firing 0.2 as intended)

Well I've contacted them & let them know the problem, fingers crossed it'll all get sorted.

If I'd known it was going to be so much trouble I wouldn't have bought it!

Cheers for your help fella. :)

  3. I don't know if I'll be there then, but hope to see you guys if I am!
  4. Got my new shiny VZ58! Dear God the battery space is a massive ball-ache though!

I don't think there's any way you *could* dremel or file, tbh.

The way the thing's designed, if you take anything off the areas that *would* increase space you're going straight into a structural part, and then that opens up a whole new can of worms!

Thanks for the help, but I think I'm just going to have to struggle on with what I have at present; at least unless someone makes an entire top cover that's actually a LiPo! ;)

  5. So, either of you able to make it Rifleworks Sunday?
  6. Decided to take a risk on Ares & order a VZ58...

My ASG MK43 is a rebranded Ares, had 12,000 bb's roughly so far....never missed a beat and always feeds and as I've said before, nearly matches my TM recoil for range. My vz.58 also shoots well and hops .28 very well

Well it'll be staying completely stock until it eventually dies, so I'll see how long it lasts.

will prob be alright, even the dodgiest guns can't have a very high % of guns sold having issues

  7. It's a little rubber sleeve & nub that pushes down on the BB to give it 'backspin' to help increase range.
  8. They're not running on the 26th fella; they're open this Sunday, which I'm off to & then fortnightly.
  9. Yeah, there's a few around here of varying quality. You have Rifleworks, Nsc, Ntac, No Limits in Gateshead and Northern Alliance down past Northallerton, and more a bit further south. There's also Stirling that run weekend events at catterick too!
  10. Hi there fella & welcome I'm from Teesside too; over in Hartlepool. Depending where you are, you're welcome to grab a lift; I play at Rifleworks in Consett & Khe sahn at Otley. I'm actually off to RW this Sunday, so hit me up if interested!
  11. I like you already, PT. A man after my own heart!
  12. The G-spec comes with a rail for mounting scopes on, whilst the basic version has iron sights. The Standard one also has a longer barrel, whereas the G-spec has a shorter barrel & suppressor. There's not much in it, as you can replace the irons on the basic with a rail, or get a replacement muzzle on the G-spec to install a longer barrel and/or different suppressor etc. **Beaten to it by Prof!
  13. I've got one of both. I'll test them together once I've woken up properly.
  14. Is it all youngsters nowadays that need spoon feeding, or just airsofters? >_

As a complete new guy with no friends that do it I have found it a little daunting but the folks on the forum have been fantastic. Mind you some people surprise me that they survived to adulthood...

It's not ignorance that annoys me; there's always something you don't know after all.

It's when people are just so lazy & unwilling to expend the slightest bit of effort or thought and insist on having everything done for them that I get annoyed!

  15. I bought both a core & a zci barrel from Ak2M4 when they had them in stock (6.03 & 6.02 respectively). The core worked really well originally, not actually far off my Prometheus 6.03 (up until the gearbox started playing up) whilst the zci was decent, but when put side by side with the Prom was a bit lacking. (Note; all AK length barrels, used with G&G .28 ammo and G&G green buckings). At present I have two AKs with Prometheus barrels (one G3 length though) and one with the Core. The zci is in a drawer until I scrounge up enough parts to build the rest of this other AK.
  16. Not in the slightest, personally I find it a bit silly.
  17. Have you looked at ordering a PDI 6.05 direct from X-Fire? Shouldn't be too expensive that way.

    We glock 17

That could also work; providing you have somewhere to shoot. However I didn't have anywhere to fire the pistol except on site; by which time it would have been too late. I think it's just down to WEs quality control. Some will come through fine, others are sadly lacking.

    We glock 17

I had the same with my WE 226. The bucking's likely a stiff one, so it can't apply enough hop. Replace it with a softer one & it should help somewhat.
  20. There was Lightfighter in Sheffield about ten years ago that was an old industrial complex with lots of buildings & outdoor areas. One of the best sites I've ever been to. There's more out there still running, but nothing as good as that one. Also; you've posted this topic three times.
  21. Did you get yours second hand? I ask because when I bought a skorpion it came with one included.
