  1. I've got an IMI and a WE holster; had both a TM and until recently, a WE 226. The WE 226 IS slightly larger than a TM and wouldn't fit in the IMI and other genuine holsters; it would only go in the Nuprol.
  2. Biggest disappointment? My children. Barring that; the WE pistols I bought.
  3. Why is it that some people expect site chronos to adjust to their RIFs and not the other way round?

NEVER try to cheat chrono - often they give you mag to test but even then they can just speed fill 6 or so 0.20's into most mags, so really don't ever think of trying at my local site

  4. *Finally* managed to get some more Prometheus flat Buckings from FS. Last time I got a re-stock notice, it was too late!

  5. The only problem I've found with them is the size of the damned packaging! For two pairs of boots and a couple of T-shirts, they used a box the size of a medium-sized Fridge!
  6. Humber Airsoft? https://www.facebook.com/events/1670818709821983/ Not far away; just south of the Bridge.
  7. Give me a shout if you do, been meaning to head back there sometime!
  8. Yes, it should.
  9. Yeah, that'll work, just make sure you get the sniper/pistol style bucking.
  10. Which one? That link goes to a whole load of barrels; half of which I've not heard of, brand wise. The barrel is one of the most important components, don't skimp on the cost buy a top quality one, else you'll not get the most out of it, and likely either have to replace it down the line, or end up selling the rifle on later.
  11. I'd go for a different barrel If I were you; 6.01 is a bit too tight; look at a PDI 6.05 (ideally) or something like a Prometheus 6.03 otherwise; they'll be better quality than the AA barrel. 6.03 is about the tightest you want to go for, bore wise. *edit; just replied without seeing there was a page 2. Oh, the joys of using phones! >_<
  12. Productive Sunday. Fixed the VZ58 *and* sorted the 552's double-feeding problem. :D

  13. How in the hell can a spring guide just disappear?? >:(

Eh, I wouldn't be taking it back anyhow tbh.

I'll stick with my own tech-work from now on; it's about the only way I get stuff working properly! ;)

always the way when my other half makes me tidy up my mess as she calls it, then I can never locate the stuff again for yonks. Ah bless 'em

      :)

It's not mess; it's organised chaos. I know where each & every part is until it gets tidied! ;)

Yup. Absolutely gutted. A two hour drive each way, to boot. >_<

If it hadn't been made by Ares, I would have just done it myself; but from experience I'm highly skeptical of Ares' longevity and so I wanted to not invalidate the warranty or anything, but seeing as I had to pay regardless, I'd have been as well off doing it myself. Pah!

Still; I'll know for next time!

  14. Nope, sorry. I'd imagine they're about as compatible as petrol and flamethrowers though.
  15. I bought one of these for the rare occasion I play CQB. Full face protection, strong lenses and comes with both integral lights for dark areas (Enough to read by or for viewing things a couple of feet away at least) and a 2-speed fan to help prevent fogging. They can also fit glasses under without problems (depending on your glasses size, obviously). Played a full day indoors without trouble, so certainly worth a look for the low price!
  16. Off to Patrol Base tomorrow; hopefully get this damned VZ58 sorted once & for all!

The amount of times I've seen "full metal" and they really mean the slide or something in terms of a pistol...

  20. When you click 'view new content' make sure that you've not clicked off 'new since my last visit' or 'content I've not read' over on the left hand side of the page. I had the same problem a while back!
  21. D'oh. VZ58 woes continue. It chronos at or around the stated 320fps...without hop. But in order to get enough hop to lift .28s, it increases to the equivalent of 365-370. D'oh. :(

It's certainly possible. Never had an Aeg where hop increases the power!

Gonna drop the store a message & get them to have a look at it.

May as well make use of my warranty whilst I have it; especially with an Ares gearbox! ;)

    3. Colonel Kurtz

      Colonel Kurtz

Prompted me to give it bit more of a google as hop-up increasing fps was v curious. Seems there is a threshold for it increasing it, although you getting 40fps off it suggests it's bit over-volumed too (not to a point where it'll cause issues firing 0.2 as intended)

    4. Hudson

      Hudson

Well I've contacted them & let them know the problem, fingers crossed it'll all get sorted.

If I'd known it was going to be so much trouble I wouldn't have bought it!

Cheers for your help fella. :)

  22. I don't know if I'll be there then, but hope to see you guys if I am!
  23. Got my new shiny VZ58! Dear God the battery space is a massive ball-ache though!

at just over £4 - get a file/dremmel and MAKE them fit

    3. Sitting Duck

      Sitting Duck

bummer - then it might have to to be the vapex ones

as one I listed were long 116mm

    4. Hudson

      Hudson

I don't think there's any way you *could* dremel or file, tbh.

The way the thing's designed, if you take anything off the areas that *would* increase space you're going straight into a structural part, and then that opens up a whole new can of worms!

Thanks for the help, but I think I'm just going to have to struggle on with what I have at present; at least unless someone makes an entire top cover that's actually a LiPo! ;)

  24. So, either of you able to make it Rifleworks Sunday?
