Looking at into delving into an MP5, with the exception of the NGRS, ive narrowed it down to the ICS and the Cyma? Which is closer to 1-1 on the real thing?

NGRS is the most fun you can get for your money but it's the most expensive as well. RS parts do fit on it though and aftermarket parts are plenty for it so later on you don't have to bend backwards to fit something else on it if you wish to do so.
Also, build quality is top notch. People always ask me if it's a GBBR. It just tells you how good job Marui made on this particular replica. In my opinion there is only one other MP5 which comes close second regarding build quality and that is the CES-P.
ICS CES-P S3 is a really solid MP5, but it's picky regarding magazines. Personally I didn't like how loud it is (split gearbox?) so I returned it ages ago.
I only read bad things about dodgy cyma mosfets so I don't know if I would risk 300+ pounds on a maybe.

After briefly checking one out in my local shop yesterday, I'm very tempted to get a WE Apache (MP5A4). Any reason not to?

Side arm options for a sniper/dmr player. I am done with the mk23 as the mags just keep dying on me even when i have done all the sealant etc etc.

torn right now. Plan on getting a wolverine mtw or get a tm mws and run it with a hpa adapter.

How long should I leave it before I accept that my last Airsoft game, was probably my last Airsoft game? 🤔
-
I only burnt out (and haven't happened since) when I played way too much and not leaving any gap between two games. Also, it's not really a good thing to rely on only one hobby. Not saying you do but lot of people fail to see that you need other activities which isn't related to airsoft at all.
Also, it's absolutely crucial to shop around regarding sites and switch it up a bit if you can. Like playing indoor for a while instead of outdoor all year long. I play indoor only but even I have to go around at least between 3-4 sites and I look for new ones all the time.
Changing guns and changing play style (like using a dmr or a pistol or shotgun instead of an AEG) can actually make a difference because you have to force yourself to adapt either because you have to keep distance or you don't have the luxury of "range". Basically anything to spice it up instead of being stale.
If you don't enjoy it anymore don't force it though. 💀

Looking at getting a new GBBR... Really like the look of the KWA F90, but the upgradeability and aftermarket parts for an MWS is also very tempting. So many options with an MWS too like a classic M4A1 or a MK18 etc.
If you (The reader) was in my position, which would you go with? 😅😂

Just filled in the paperwork for my UKARA. Exactly 56 days between the first three games! How's that for good planning?

trying to find a shotgun tracer is a ballache!!

Airsoft's really kicking my ass lately. Last outing I had had my CYMA plat SR-25 die for no reason, alongside my DE UTR-45 [the SR-25 has randomly revived itself the other day but for how long i don't know, UTR still dead], then my WE G18c exploded it's internals and is now light-striking with the new steel replacement ones, and then today my VFC USP9 which has been rock-steady since I bought it as my first rif has shit the bed too - the fuck is going on? Lmao

so tired of fogging up my ess crossbows. Mostly through sweat from my head. Anyone have any good suggestions?
-
Not sure if it's me getting older or what not - but people seem to moan so much about hit taking now days. What happened to the mindset, assume I missed and keep shooting instead of people thinking they are John wick and never miss.

has anyone tried the spec savers safety glasses for prescription eye wear. they have the en166f rating that seems to be the standard. Asking as a friend is trying to find prescription eye pro for airsoft
-
Any ideas as to how to stop these fogging up? Anti fog spray and shaving foam doesn't seem to do the trick

Does anyone have experience ordering a RIF from HK recently? I'm looking at ordering one within the next few weeks and don't want my package getting seized or held up at any point. Advice appreciated.
-
As long as the seller puts your UKARA number on a visible place on your parcel you should be fine. Why would customs deliberately seize it and destroy it if you've got a valid defence?
I think the bigger issue usually is that how much more extra you have to pay because of brexit and if it's worth it overall.
Personally I only bought a RIF once from Hong Kong (rainbow8) but it arrived with no issues.

Week off work with an ankle injury ... how long will it before I buy another RIF 😂

the vfc aeg rifs as bad as their rep suggests?
-
It depends on which model you fancy. Some of them are shit and some of them are decent. Avalon series isn't bad at all. And then they made Sig AIR MPX/MCX which is a disgrace...
VFC defo stepped up their game regarding GBBR though. Almost everyone praises their HK 416A5 or the new SIG MPX.
I think the biggest problem with VFC is that it had very bad reputation regarding reliability and QC years ago and it difficult to change on that view especially when it's not popular in the UK compared to the States or Asia and your sample is gonna be always small because most of the people not gonna choose a VFC over a Marui/Cyma/G&G. So people keep parroting each other instead of trying one and see it for themselves. Other issue is that VFC is so freaking expensive compared to the rest.
My personal view is that it's very difficult to fuck up AEG's nowadays. Internally 99% of them is the gonna be the same....

Follow up to the 'getting a UKARA number' shenanigans: I've had to re-submit my form today as it couldn't be found this morning. Sigh...
Hopefully this time it won't take a month to hear back!-
"Ah this is gonna be my last gun".
I know that line very well indeed.-

Next year I may go without UKARA. Hear me out. If you don't have one you can't buy brand new replicas at least from retailers. :DDD Buying used ones from da internet? Different story.

Running. Making me realise airsoft isn't so expensive after all.

Waiting for my UKARA to come through for a fortnight now. Not impatiently waiting to spend my money at all
