  1. Installed one of these on someone’s gnu the other week.. plastic nozzle with steel pawls. Seems stable enough. This has just arrived from wgc shop…… duh dum, duuuuh dum, dum dum dum dum dum dum…. Will be teching this weekend and let peeps know how it pans out…
  2. M4/16 tech tip. Even though there are a few vids on YouTube regarding this, I just wanted to put this up as a short cut for anyone who needs it… Bolt stop function. probably the most ( and generally only) disappointing thing about the m4 platform for me was the quickly deteriorating bolt stop function. I scratched my head and tried several mods to improve this; adding material to the underside of the bolt stop arm, removing material from the lug on the side of the bolt stop arm, even removing the spring behind the bolt stop. then I found a YouTube channel which explained that if you bought some aeg gear box shims, and placed one either side of the bolt stop, held in with the pin, this solves the issue by stopping the bolt stop from moving laterally, taking any play out. to my surprise and joy, this solved it immediately, resulting in 100% bolt lock on empty. so , don’t despair. There is a simple fix that anyone can do in less than five minutes!!
  3. @Nick G love the a1. Classic. The new “long” has yet to grow on me.
  4. @JimFromHorsham you sir have an amazing collection and also a great eye for detail. Looking forward to hearing more on the project. I have posted pics on here in the past, so one final time…. the short “A2” has stock hop chamber with silicone maple leaf 60* autobot rubber which hops beautifully. Stock inner cqb length barrel and an angry gun MPA nozzle set to 300 fps on .25g using Nuprol 3.0 red. Suits cqb great. long “A1” stock chamber again with silicone maple leaf 60* autobot rubber in a RA tech 370mm 6.01 inner barrel. Power is controlled using a white fh airsoft LFS restrictor disc, at around 300 fps on .25g? Again using Nuprol 3.0 red gas. I have replaced a trigger box a few years ago, in another defunct M4 and replaced a broken valve locker, but I find as I use semi only, these can go on for a good long while with minimal maintenance. When I’ve got time I’ll try put a small list of rs parts I’ve used at various times ( Which can make the WE experience that little bit more special ) so newcomers can dip straight in!
  5. @JimFromHorsham great story, great tips and fantastic looking rifs dude.
  6. Okay, I know these are quite an old and established brand now, with varying opinions on quality and usability, but I’ve searched the archives and can’t find anything meaningful. So here goes… I am starting this thread as there seems to be a flurry of interest in the WE gbbr platforms recently. Whether you are interested, or own an m4/16, AK derivative, M14, G36, G3, SM8/ Mp7 etc (no pistols please), this is your opportunity to show boat your builds!! External upgrades, or more importantly internal upgrades; if you would like to post what works for you, or what hasn’t worked for you? How did you get yours to be reliably skirmishable? Best hop upgrades, inner barrels? What’s your maintenance regime? What breaks or what haven’t you needed to change? Everything is on the table! it would be nice to make this thread a source of valuable information for old hands as well as new owners to what I’ve always believed ( since 2007 and my closed bolt M4 cqb) is a great and realistic brand to own for both collectors and players alike. so fire away; let’s see your pics and tech tips please!
  7. Can we change this thread to the WE gbbr thread ? Might be useful hub for sources?
  8. I run two WE rifles and love them. I really don’t maintain them much. Most important thing in my opinion is to keep gas in the mags at all times. The msk mags are the best as the don’t suffer cool down as much as steel shell mags. get a decent 60* hop rubber, and angry gun mpa to control the fps (although I had to swap out the o ring for a stock WE one) and just use semi. skirmish wise, unless you go somewhere like ground zero, most sites run hour ish max games, and I find 5 mags and a pistol plenty, spesh for cqb. so as everyone else has said, go for it. Maybe buy a open bolt conversion kit for spares or buy the ra tech trigger box. But I’ve found they last due to just using semi (most cqb sites require this anyhow) they do take effort to tune; hop, bb weight and fps, but once dialled, it’s worth it!!
  9. In lo light cqb situations, red dots on both primary and pistol are invaluable; in a darkened room you cannot aim either correctly without one.
  10. Just had my stickers from firesupport!!! my emags for my WE are now complete!! now to see if I can mod some for the ghk?!!
  11. These are quality gbbs. Ksc milspec glock 17 were the bomb 10 years ago. I’d keep it. Just lube it up, don’t over load the mag max 10 -15 bbs and use a red gas. Should be absolutely fine. my son has a v1 ksc p226 from 2006, still works as it should with no work done.
  12. Mmmm. I have a cam 870 I’m looking to put up in classifieds as soon as I can be bothered…
  13. Now that’s what you call a gun case!!
  14. I swear if I was younger this would’ve given me a hardon!!
  15. The magic word is “power file” takes like 20 minutes? You just got to get the height in the mag well bang on and your golden. I’ve done quite a few tm ones in the past; you just gotta go balls deep and take off enough material from the bb chute to stop the shell pinching and insure feeding.
  16. Just modded 5 emags to work in my WE A2alike. SHIBBY!! IMG_2411.MOV
  17. Think that geeza ought to send his ptw out.cuz he ain’t never gonna get three grand over here for it..
  18. Uhhh. I have a genuine sf pressure switch i cadged off my eldest when my clone one died. It’s shorter but defo works.
  19. Never had a problem with wgc. Good reliable shop.
  20. I’d just go to a certain ptw seller on bended knee and beg him to take my money. anyone wanna buy a cracked receiver?
  21. I would say torches are generally speaking used for cqb; on short rifles. So mounting a light at 6 o’clock hinders grip. I’d say if you prefer push tail and are right handed, mount it on the left to be operated by your thumb. Mine is on the right as I have a dual torch and peq activated by my thumb using a c grip with my left hand. But this could all be irrelevant if you have just a peq mounted on 12 o’clock.
  22. @Rainn6:8 forgot to ask, where did you buy the a2 bud?
  23. Considering the price I was quoted, I’ll hang in there and pay a retailer slightly less and grab myself a warranty with it too. thanks anyway.
  24. Can you tell us what sort of warranty you provide on rifs?
