Out of the fire; the L119A1 Phoenix rises!
SBoardley replied to SBoardley's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Thanks brother. I’ve always preferred the long gun, they are simply ‘classic’; I think the mixed bag ‘task force black’ load outs are the best looking too, though and will probably search out another mich type helmet n goggles at some point!! -

Weeelllllllllllll, its real steel version is actually British…hence the ‘L’ 119 designation… but I will concede they are manufactured by Colt Canada…. -

There’s always one! But I’ll take it, thanks! -
Just felt like posting a pic or two…since my G&p A1 receiver bought it in the flames, I just had the ‘burning’ desire to create a new version. Managed to literally dig from the embers, my army code barrel AND front sight!!! And decided to go gbb. I also had an a2 gbb but that wasn’t so fortunate, and is one for the nice insurance man to sort. anyways, just the upper mods to do and the engraving…. For the purists out there; my G&p thumbscrew mount acog is cremated so this will have to do atm, and for reference, the peq-2 is an invisiblesight IR version I was lucky to have safe at my son’s.

If anyone is interested, saw this on YouTube the other day and thought of you guys…. It’s a start…https://www.octagonairsoft.com/product-page/fcw-marui-akm-gbbr-nylon-m4-tube-adapter-set-1

Props to @Shamalfor being a top bloke!!

Sorry been out of the loop…. the battery was an unskirmished 11.4v 1200mah bought in uk. It was being charged on a good quality programmable balance charger. Ok, the charger is over 10 years old?! I HAD 2 of these batteries, both stored in their own hard plastic boxes that they came in. I’ve had lipos for years and am aware of how delicate they can be. I’ve had a couple puff, and I’ve had to Chuck one quickly across the the garden smoking as as it went due to roughly pulling it from a stock tube. But the battery in question was used only to chrono aegs. but I’ve learned a valuable lesson. As discussed ^^; use a bag or a metal box, and do not leave them unattended. EVER. Seriously I could have lost my son. Nothing, not even airsoft is worth THAT risk.

@Shamaldude what an amazing and friendly offer. Atm my ukara is lapsed, otherwise I’d bite yer hand off! Nice one, thanks bud.

He dude. Welcome to a world of fun. I’m no where near you, but would say, get yourself along to a site near you and I guarantee you will wish you had done so sooner. I guarantee it. Most airsofters are welcoming and inclusive, irrespective of your personal perception of yourself. just go. You will not regret it. good times mate.

Fitting an AngryGun L119A2 9.5" handguard to a G&G GC16 13.5" Wildhog
SBoardley replied to Sightren's topic in General Help
I’ve fitted these to an Ics, WE gbbr and a GHK gbbr with no problems. Maybe the g&g receiver has its own spec? Perhaps you could try Teflon tape to help pack out the thread? -
Right. Wasn’t gonna talk about this, didn’t particularly think anyone would give a crap, and basically I’m a reasonably private person. however, in May I had a lipo failure in my bedroom, which could have easily killed my son who nearly got trapped in the shower. I almost passed out from smoke inhalation, trying to put it out. House was gutted within ten minutes of finding it. Fire service were training that night and were there in like ten minutes, and basically saved the shell. Luckily the insurance company have paid up and we should be back in by January. ive had lipo batteries for like over ten years for my rifs, never never had a problem til this. moral of the story should be : respect lipo s. always charge them in a metal box or proper bag near your back door or something. I’ll post some pic at some point. plug: if anyone has a ksc sig p226 - mine is screwed! Right. Yeah isn’t that what we are doing on this forum? Yeah telling site owners and staff how to run their site is a…… sure way of being told not to come back? Yeah it’s called a margin for error, effectively keeping the players rif just about within the 1.3 joules But yeah. If you’ve got something constructive to say about joule creep, I would probably listen.
-
@Rogerborg I completely get you. It’s exactly the same as air rifles be set below the max joule/ ft/lb limit; to allow for variance in pellet mass. thanks for the school men. I’m converted… chrono on a heavy bb in joules. Everything else is gravy.
-
That would be great. I kinda understand more now, and understand better what @Rogerborgwas saying (apologies). I guess I’m old school, used to carry a bag of 0.20’s and a chrono to spot check punters- 328 +- 10%. Also most sites are still 350fps that we’ve visited. I shall definitely look at a chrono and bb weight differently now. Just took it for granted I guess.
-
I think it would be really helpful to get some numbers up to maybe highlight the issues of joule creep. Because I feel at least for myself, a little education on the matter is useful. maybe get some sort of chart up of examples from different platforms? I’d give it a go but I’ve just had a house fire and lost a lot of gear including my chrono. Thank god I’m insured.
-
I understand this, as I have air rifles, and know that different grain ammo can impact joules as stated on the rifles. but always presume that the benchmark was 0.2g so joule creep was irrelevant.
-
I see what you are saying. I was talking in terms of joules creep; so the ukapu statement is actually slightly misleading? I’m slightly confused as this seems up to date?
-
-
I’m sorry but I tend to slightly disagree with your assumption. as I understand it , the law states the joule rating based on 0.2g bb. So if any of my auto capable rifs shoot under 1.14 joules, they meet the legal bench mark, irrespective of whether I use .12g or .36g bbs. edit. Well it’s actually 1.3 joules I believe but most sites like the 350 fps thing.

Love all your kit. Amazing attention to detail. Must all be worth a small fortune. Keep it up mate.

Lol. We all know where you mean!!

Been there, done that , handed back the hi viz. This is the worst thing that can happen to a marshal IMO
