  1. For me having the option just puts too much pressure on the day. If it doesn't go well I'm like "I spent £600 on this bloody thing!" Saying that, I do kinda miss my TM SCAR L
  2. I've found airsofters fit in to two main categories when it comes to their guns and gear: 1) The "cheap and cheerful" crew - Has a sub £200 primary, likely doesn't have a secondary and if they do it's something like a WE Glock which they've had for a half-a-dozen years. If something breaks they'll tinker and bodge it themselves, meaning they likely get the best GBP to kill ratio. 2) The "my collection" brigade - Takes delivery of a new RIF pretty much every week, uses each in one or two skirmishes at most before selling on. If anything breaks they'll send it off to a tech for "the works" I'm definitely in the latter but want to break the cycle. I was about to order a slide for my TM Hi-Capa Gold Match but then thought back to the other week when I got some great kills with it stock and realised in that moment I was more concerned with it shooting reliably than looking pretty, so why bother... The above seems to have little to do with with actual financial position. I know wealthy people who have basic guns & gear and people who've taken out loans in order to sink £2K into a RIF. I guess the topic of discussion is: While you're actually skirmishing, do you care about how your guns look etc? If not, does that also make you wonder why you've gone for the £1500 NGRS etc?. As an additional discussion, are there any airsoft habits you want to break? I spend hours browsing retail websites and enjoy the buzz of a new arrival but the shine soon wears off, so I've obviously got an issue to address.
  3. I was talking with Luke at Battle Lakes and he had the DSG MP5 he built himself to prove a point. One pull of the trigger to demonstrate the ROF and somebody immediately sprinted around the corner, asking how much to build one for him.
  4. Also seems to be because Luke builds guns for reliability, rather than the 349.9FPS & 60RPS on a hair-trigger that many of the sub-25 year old airsofters are obsessed with.
  5. Even with Facebook groups you get people piping up just to say something, even though they have no-idea what they're talking about. I've literally had people saying "I don't know if this is right or not but this must be the cause of the problem..."
  6. Of course people are free to ask for whatever they like. The dreamers thread is more of a guide to buyers and sellers, while having a bit of fun with it a long the way. I can't speak for everyone but whenever I price the stuff I'm selling, I of course go in a certain amount under new retail, however with me there is always the question of "do I definitely want to sell this?" As such if I were to list it at a bargain price 1) You're still going to get the Wheeler Dealer wannabe asking for X amount off 2) If it sells within in a couple of hours, you're going to wonder if you could have gotten more. So yeah if it's not selling and I'm still fairly certain I want to move it on, I'll just drop the price by £10-15 here and there. I've never been pulling my hair out, desperate to sell. From a buyers perspective, all I can say is the only negative feedback I've ever received on here, was when I decided not to sell to someone 😬
  7. Just in case you didn't know, the Secret Service rely on Elite Force Airsoft guns to protect the President😉

Z Nation is my guilty zombie pleasure.  Completely daft, increasingly silly, but they always tried for something fresh.

Missy Pyle in the "RoZwell" episode about Area 51 zombie aliens (played by Doug Jones!)  was sheer joy.

And then it gave us Black Summer which was almost the exact opposite, super intense and serious, it actually put the horror back into survival.

I can forgive it a lot, even Elite Force.

@Rogerborg - I'm surprised anyone else has really heard of it, let alone watched it. Definitely some interesting concepts in with the silliness too. I can't recall another film or series which had a character become a zombie whisperer.

Although as I said to my friend, you know a series has "jumped the shark" when Henry Rollins shows up. It was the same with Sons of Anarchy!

@Rogerborg Is Black Summer worth sticking with?  I tried it and managed to get a couple episodes into season 1 but I found it to be pretty terrible.

  8. Surely these are real steel sized? The WE Glocks aren't.
  9. It's not a new concept, so the idea itself isn't that appealing. However if you were to create one with attractive parameters, then I'm sure a few on here would drop the cash on an impulse - airsofters always enjoy a bit of that action 😄
  10. Funnily enough, they do distinguish between the two with different coloured tape at chrono.
  11. This came up at my local when a guy turned up with a stock TM VSR. He assumed as it only shot 300fps, there wouldn’t be a MED but other players kept complaining about the sniper who was shooting from 20 metres away. So they’ve changed the rules and it’s now a case of “if it looks like a sniper rifle or DMR, you’ve got a 30 metre med”……which of course opens up a whole new can of worms.
  12. Which area is it lacking in or are you just bored and want to spend some money on it for the sake of it?
  13. Unless they've changed the dimensions since I had my G23 with this holster, then yes it'll fit like a glove.
  14. It's essentially a select fire G19, so something like this would be what I'd go for: https://nuprol.com/np-eu-series-holster.html Edit: Nevermind, just seen you wanted a specific pattern!
  15. Ahh don't, I'm getting flashbacks of Valentines Day when I was a teenager!
  16. When the most recent RE TM Desert Eagle was released a few years back (2018?), people were tripping over themselves to pay £450+ for it. Then proudly declaring "I'm not even going to break the cellophane, that way it's an investment" Have you ever seen one of those full steel kit $2000+ Airsoft guns you can find often out of stock on Asian Airsoft sites, so I guess somebody must be paying that for them. I remember shaking my head at the Robin Hood Tactical Desert Eagle kit which was just a metal (I would assume steel), body kit for a TM DE and sold out fast at £850.
  17. I'm confused. It was Ewoks in the bushes, not Wookies.
  18. "Just because you wasted three mags on me, doesn't mean you hit me"

From a recent Dutch the Hooligan video and a line I'm going to have to start using!

@Steveocee - I genuinely wish that was the case but doesn't seem like people are much interested in that. The airsoft videos which seem to pull the biggest numbers on youtube, are drama in a game and those which spend thousands on mystery boxes.

      Case in point, this video:

4.2 million views of a small kid getting hurt and likely never wanting to ever play our sport again. This disappoints me on so many levels.

  19. I do this sometimes but nothing to do with the Missus. I'm fortunate enough to have the disposable income to buy toys and still have plenty left over to pay for more important things. I just don't particularly enjoy having guns which won't be in my top three to skirmish. So I will list something and if it doesn't sell for what I would be happy with, so be it. I've never been desperate to move something on. More like just so I can justify (to myself) buying something new. Actually typing that in full has brought me to a moment of great realisation....why am I trapped in this loop!? I already have plenty of guns and need to stop looking out of boredom, chasing the thrill of a delivery...thanks you've been a massive help! Oh you mean the type of Airsoft gun that's "bought as an investment" because in five years it'll be worth thousands 😬
  20. Not my fault, haha. Fortunately despite this gun not turning up, I do still have some belongings
  21. If we're just talking for this part, the shipping is £5 and I can't see them slapping those other charges on but guess there's always going to be some degree of risk, as I've obviously found out.
  22. @Rogerborg - Obviously not a RIF and I will say I like dealing with firesupport, their prices are usually good too but things like this make it difficult not to order from abroad..
  23. This thread is really making me want to keep my 4.3 and put all these bits on it but £170 for a frame and £200 for a grip! 😮 I've also just picked up a Gold Match and very tempted to send it to Mike Cripps, so he can fit a black AM Limcat slide with Gold enameling etc. How much would that negatively impact the cooldown side of things though?
  24. Yikes. I think I'm just going to stop ordering anything remotely RIF like from abroad. Yes you can potentially save 10% or so if you're fortunate enough it doesn't get pulled for inspection but I'd rather just have it quickly and with an easier avenue or resolution if something goes wrong.
  25. Final update on this one. I work in logistics, so constantly solving problems for other people. Which means I seem to have very little time or inclination to sort my own out, when stuff like this occurs. So I didn't follow up with BF but quickly raised a PayPal dispute and today I've received a full refund, as the seller didn't even respond to the case.
