  1. How's the cycle time? It could be that the nozzle isn't seating correctly even if the overall rps isn't much higher. It's a strange issue to have with 2 rps difference though, and it's hard to say without knowing how the guns are set up. I'll assume the motor height is set properly. You may have just had decent brushed motors before. They do exist. And you can do high rps builds with brushed motors, but the brushless have bucket loads more torque and run more efficiently. Might be worth having a word with the warhead users fb group, the company owner is on there as well as people with a lot of experience with the motors.
  2. Now THAT is a day of airsofting! I definitely recommend anyone who can goes and checks out UCAP bunker, just 100% bring a light with you and probably hearing protection. My first time playing CBQ and it was an absolute blast. The camo colours only with the dark or single coloured lights caused a great deal of confusion that was pretty well overcome by the homeguard with callouts. Excellent team play all day long, everyone played hard capturing objectives and sneaking up on enemies. The final firefight for the ark was a bloodbath, and it came down to the final minute of gameplay before the civvies managed to push through. The site itself is incredible. Loads of dark corners and shortcuts to crawl through. Decent cover on corridors to have good firefights down them. Some incredibly tight corridors, barely wide enough for two people, flanked by doors either side, it's a great place for tense ambushes. After a few bangs the smoke down there with no airflow creates a totally new environment, your light stops becoming effective at longer ranges, the dark tunnels become darker. I'd have loved to see more of it, but the middle acted as a pretty significant choke point for our team. Amazing day though, I'll be back there again, and 100% if it's a game organized by the worthing team.
  3. Why I will always wear and recommend lower face pro when airsofting. I've already spent too much time and pain on these teeth to deal with them being shot out.
  4. Unless you're going for a dmr you'll want to test that on a chrono. An m115 spring is going to be hot, unless you have the leakiest gun in the land. Edit: and yes, get a chrono. It's the #1 thing you need when tuning your own gun.
  5. I use some electrical tape (thin) and tough tape (thicc) to shim my mags to where they need to be. Typically it's some electrical around the top to stop side to side wobble, and a bit of tough tape in the back of the magwell to push the mag forward so it feeds. But in the words of the great neg airsoft, "airsoft guns are shit". And they are, tolerances are all over the place.
  6. I highly recommend getting a sheet of 2mm lexan and cutting yourself a protector. You can either slot it in behind a lens cover, or glue it in with some clear silicone sealant. It works for the aesthetically minded out there and it's not sacrificial, it will repel bbs with ease. It even works with weird shapes like reflex sights.
  7. I am just a sucker for project builds. It starts as a nuprol, but it will eventually inherit the innards of my 1j dmr build when that goes to hpa. Then it will be a cqb/assault machine. No reason this can't have the performance of my 1j dmr build but be waaaay more maneuverable and with less care for conserving ammo. Nuprol is always such a mixed bag, it's like little surprises waiting for you! The crane stock is the best fitting crane stock I have used. Zero wobble. None. Stupidly consistent with the hop set for 0.25s. But then the upper was rocking like a jelly and the barrel has no crowning! Anyway, the wobble has been mostly fixed with tape on the back end prongs to hold it down, it'll get a grub screw for the front pin to hold it down further, and a new barrel and hop (I hate geared hops). The old barrel might be a practice barrel for some things, it at least isn't rusted like the ak21 barrel was 👍 I also want to mention this feyachi V30 red dot. I was on the lookout for a T1 style red dot, or at least one on a more vertical riser, and then I saw a reviewer beating the V30 with an ammo tin and it retained zero. So yeah I bought it. It even comes with a kill flash so I don't have to spend a day with hand cramp making a protector for it. I'm looking forward to having a gun I can run in a more assault role that I don't mind pulling apart. Also I already threw my warhead into it and it's such an easy but insane upgrade.
  8. If they were prone right on cross and got gun hit, that might've been me, in which case I apologize! But I agree, it's near impossible to feel those, It's only really around the upper body you can hear it. And if we go off video game logic they wouldn't be a part of the hitbox. And if it was me, I had a bunch of people look right at me while I was lying on that corner not seeing me at all. I think only Tom had spotted me and watched while I took out a few people. One quite nice shot to someone's glasses I must say! Oh well, another weekend, another set of players. There'll be little excuse on saturday though 👍
  9. Were you on yellow? I heard the same thing from a few people on blue team, though it seemed to be limited to one player. Everyone I shot seemed to be very sportsmanlike about it, especially the guy I pinged right in the glasses 😂 And one player was accused in front of me but they were simply behind a dense as hell bush. Still, it's always a shame to hear people playing like this, especially when it's obvious, i.e. not through a bush, but a clear shot in the open. It's probably unfounded but everytime I hear about non hit taking I get nervous it's myself as the ghillie does soften the blows, and I know even regular light gear can be enough to prevent someone feeling a long shot. I'd hate to be that person so much, it astounds me that people do it on purpose. Glad you enjoyed the site! I always feel lucky to have a site run by such a great team on my doorstep.
  10. I've heard the modify mod24 is pretty good. Reports of it hitting about 90m. I wouldn't be surprised if that means it's actually pretty good at around 75m.
  11. I think it's an m120. The incredibly short barrel means the arp runs a heavy spring to get the fps it does. Lowering the spring weight too much may start to cause overspin. Down to a 115 might be enough.
  12. Ouch! Our usual blood sacrifice was off today so I think you pulled the short straw 😂 Great day at Worthing. Smaller turnout than usual and a fair few left towards the end of the day making the teams quite small. Honestly I thought it was great, it adds a new dynamic to the field. For some reason our team had about 8 snipers on it though, but everything was still very balanced, it was quite back and forth all day thanks to a lot of the objectives requiring pushing into and area and holding it. Blues made some good pushes after a few encouraging words from some of the players. I managed to eat s*&% jumping a branch on game start. On the plus side, my gun can take a bit of a fall and keep working! What was actually much worse was taking cover behind a tree, only for my knees to find every single chestnut shell on the damn site, the one time I don't bring knee pads 😭 That was due to my newly made ghillie trousers! I also did a bit more crafting on the suit. Much fun, much invisibility. I think my summer ghillie with what I've learned is going to be excellent Unfortunately my red dot died while I was in some great close range spots which made things a bit harder. We also t6ook my friend's brother out for his first game too and he had a great time, so the squad grows! All in all, a great day as usual. Next weekend I've got a private game at the ucap bunker in portsmouth, so that should bring some great stories!
  13. Today I spent about 5 hours gluing some net to some trousers and then tying some halo screen to said net. It'll be hard to say exactly how it'll blend until this weekend, though it's a summer ghillie so it's probably too green right now. Still, really happy with how it's looking. It should help me lie in weird spots and not be seen 🌳
  14. The newer one use more epoxy on the pcb. The pins on my black have been very slightly twisted to aid in motor removal, and they are working fine. It's worth exercising some caution since they are soldered, but I doubt the newer ones will jump off out of the blue. Works fine with my perun ab++ on a 7.4v. Another vote for the warhead. I have a black high speed on a 7.4v titan, and it's a great motor. The efficiency means I can just run the one battery all day. On 13:1 gears it gets about 24rps but I only use burst fire.
  15. Could be some movement in the hop arm? Some gearbox shims either side of the pin would hold it in place if that is the issue.
  16. "Joule creep" is what happens when you use ammo that works more efficiently with the system. It may be a bit of a buzz word/phrase but it can make people more aware of the effects of changing ammo weight, and most of the time that's a good thing.
  17. An open fronted mesh top for a summer leaf suit. This is going to get painted to get rid of the odd purple tones, then some larger netting on top and finally covered in leaves and what not. Nice and green and natural I hope. I'm also going to convert my dpm trousers into a leaf suit lower when I can bloody find them 🤬 Anyway, should be a fun build, and I can spend my summers in a vegetative state.
  18. When I was just messing about with my new <1.14j gun with a flat hop I tried some 0.36s for a laugh. The power dropped with so much hop but compared to 0.28s they got the same range and were much more stable. Now the gun is tuned to account for that power drop it gave me +10m and nice stable shots. This is with both vorsk bbs. I generally use geoffs now and find they are more consistent. Also I think what you are thinking of is inertia. Heavier bbs hold their energy for longer, and end up reaching targets at 30m+ faster than lighter bbs.
  19. I should've brought some ice skates with me today. The mud at Worthing wasn't as deep as it can get but everything was slippery as hell. I tried my luck at climbing up onto one of the ridgelines but just ended up sliding back down again on my backside 😂 Still, despite the rain some great fights, good pushes and defence by boths teams, always a pleasure to see. One complaint is a game of running barrels to a central objective was going a lot quicker that the marshalls thought it would, so a lot of rules started changing on the fly. It was a bit confusing to say the least. But we got to some classic base domination in the afternoon, lots of fun, lots of kills pretending to be a hedge 😄 It was a good day for me too, gun is back to 60m range and performing quite well even after a last minute gear change. My ghillie is doing its usual good things, though it will need some updating as we get into spring. I took out my new pistol, WE's version of the p226. Very happy with it, effective at 30m and reaches out to 45 totally stock. My friends had less good days, sniper mag issues, and my mates g&g sr15 falling apart for a third time.
  20. Airsoft sniper forum has some great guides on the specifics of building a DMR. The key is consistency, so gas isn't a great choice. HPA is a good pick if you really don't want to go aeg, but it's expensive. For platforms, some sites want you to have a real world full power cartridge firing weapon, some don't mind, some just want a fixed stock, check your local sites. Personally I'm using a nuprol ak21 with a UKSR stock, which has pretty solid externals so ripe for a DMR build, but it's based on an intermediate cartridge platform. For power, it ranges drastically at different sites, check your local, it may not even be worth running dmr power. In which case may I suggest the precision assault rifle? Essentially the concept of a DMR at <1.14j, set to hop the heaviest bb you can as accurately as you can. I'll mention @Impulse to preach about this further
  21. That's useful because it's proper issued kit, it's designed, tested, and built for the battlefield. Your old viper rig isn't going to hold plates or connect with soft body armour. The clothes will probably help but ditch the repro load carrying kit.
  22. Sure, for upgrading a system with recoil that makes sense. It makes a hell of a lot less sense to do the same to a standard aeg with no recoil system thats pretty good ootb, which is what the base krytac is.
