The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Badgerlicious replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
A follow on from my AK21 purchase last week. I ran the gun last weekend and was pretty impressed, it was hopping 0.36s to 50m, even while dropping to 0.65 joules with the hop set. So this week I've been in the gearbox giving it a higher volume cylinder, a notch cut, which has solved the power drops with no hop, weather has been too awful to test at range though. A couple of fun things I've since found, the shimming was pretty damn good, which it had to be 'cos the inside was bone dry. Maybe there was a slight hint of grease from ages past, but there was close to nothing in the box. The inside has been painted too, so it's got a slightly rough texture. At least it's got a pretty face. 😔 -

How's the quality? I've been trying to get some vn midcaps, only managed to snag 2 so far (and mistakenly bought some high caps *shakes fist*) -
The newer issue British army surplus boots are very light for what they provide. There's a reason a new pair of altbergs costs north of £150, hence my suggestion for surplus and going to physically look at them, you can sometimes stumble on near new or even boxed boots for surplus prices. Tell that to my friend who rolled his ankle on his first game before buying boots with proper ankle support. I get that some people prefer trainers, and if you're on a flat CQB site I totally get that, but as a majority of airsoft sites seems to be in vaguely well kept woodland, boots with proper ankle support will save you from a lot of pain and limping, or worse, should you take a misstep on a root or step into a rabbit hole.

I use a pair of surplus altbergs. £50 and super comfy year round. Any surplus brown boot is going to be great tbh, Alterberg, Haix, Bates, YDS, Iturri . Just make sure you go try them on first with whatever/similar socks you'll be wearing. Check the soles are still hard and not spongy, wear a pair of thick socks over a pair of thin socks to reduce any chance of blisters. Maybe buy some altberg brown polish and a brush to keep them waterproofed.

What an amazing day at Worthing! New gun is wonderful, hops .36s out to 50m even while lacking in power a bit, so there's room for improvement. Even my goggle fan running out of power and a morning of not being able to see much (I got it sorted at lunch, and a new love for revision anti-fog wipes) couldn't put much of a damper on the amazing rolling defence game of the afternoon. Some excellent defense and enemy callouts from yellow, and some great coordinated pushes from blue. My new camo hood and loadout was proven to work. Almost got stepped on a few times, and there were many claims of a sniper (It's a <1j aeg) while I held the flank with a few others for a good 10 minutes. Took about 6 of them to weed me out 🤣 All in all a wonderful day, one of those where you realise how much you love this sport. -

Haha, yeah I really wanna grab one of those at some point, just a big chunk of beautiful metal. I will say this rivals my ICS L86 in weight, if that gives some perspective. -
It's a bit broken, yes. Your comment make me think it's trying to tell me something though 🤣 I need to get into the gearbox and fix something with the contacts. I've been putting it off while fixing my other gun so I have a backup in case anything goes wrong.

SoI picked up a Nuprol Delta AK21. It's a very cool looking gun imo, with its real steel counterpart being very close to the ACR, both conceptually and visually is pretty cool. With the RIF version being based on an m4, it's easy to get parts for. Speaking of, it's not a gun I would recommend anyone run stock, the barrel was in a truly awful state. Much worse than any of my other guns that I hadn't cleaned for about a year. Fortunately I never planned to keep much of the internals, so a new barrel, while annoying that it's necessary, isn't so bad for me. I also got a prowin hop unit and a modify ryukoso flat hop rubber, which will be range and accuracy tested on sunday. But initially it all fits beautifully and the airseal upped my fps by 10. What I did buy this gun for are its externals, which are wonderful. It's heavy as hell, weighting about 3kgs by itself, being almost full metal, besides grip and stock. If it wasn't heavy enough, I also bought a Nuprol Phantom (Elcan repro) with a fixed 4x zoom, and it's a beautiful optic. Really clear, no perceptual loss of light. The adjustment dial is super stiff so I don't fear it moving at all. 600g though, so it adds a fair bit of weight. I plan to run this gun as a sneaky build for now, it'll probably end up being a DMR, or a <1.14j quiet build, probably ending up HPA'd at some point in its life. I'm pretty happy with the wrap job I've done, using a jack pyke 3D camo hat as a scope cover, with their tough tape and stealth tape to cover the gun. The true test will be on sunday though. My goal is to surprise a few people. Nude Dressed -
So my AUG only doing full auto means..... 🤔 I'm looking at going to greenops (and their bunker site in Portsmouth). Those barricades and towers look like great fun to play around. I'm excited to try out more fields, but glad my local, Worthing, is great so I don't find it necessary.

How to increase the range of a Nuprol Delta Recon
Badgerlicious replied to Noah123's topic in Electric Guns
Hey, so I'm picking up a delta ak21 tomorrow, and I'm curious if you know what went wrong for your sopmod to die? Sorry for necro, but actual delta owners seem few and far between. -

You'd be astounded by the number of people who own music gear but don't actually make music. Though, personally I have little issue with it, they are helping the supplies stay afloat so we can enjoy our nice things -
Can you fit British Army issue SUSAT sight onto ICS L85A2?
Badgerlicious replied to BoneyT's topic in General Help
I have a few layers of fabric/sniper tape over mine. 20mm rail parts fit perfectly. -
I have a very similar setup, an FMA fan ripped out carefully removed and fitted on on a pair of valken tangos with the thermal lens. First up, thermal lenses are magical, but on the occasional times they do fog, or I need to cool down a bit, the fan does just the job. I can post some pics later.

Oof. Do you have anything around your neck? I've always worn a shemagh or scrim scarf around my neck for this reason. -

I was also hoping for more bright shirts, but it is what it is. Still somehow got team killed a few times 😂 I've played a few times down in paradise, hopefully it gets more use, though it's proper creepy right now, with all the canopy cover and dead branches around. -

Even as the saps that had to attack you it was a fantastic day. A ton of fighting, and team kills, as both teams were forced into one direction to attack the scientists. And Paradise is hell to attack an entrenched team, especially if you're wearing a bright white shirt 😂 -

That... is not inaccurate, lol. I don't think the spawns helped you much, especially as we had people pushing through the woodland to deny the spawns of your main base, meaning a hill climb to spawn back. Though you were certainly giving us a hard time over the full field! There was a good fight for Tower at the end of the day. I do love the larger field games with multiple objectives, I think I prefer them to the more focused meat grinder of the usual games. Worthing is also certainly a site where mega range doesn't give you a huge advantage, especially in spring/summer, as you said. So I did get a nice four shots, four kills with my pistol after having taken a weapon hit about 15 minutes earlier. Definitely the most action it's seen in a day, lol. -

We're back! Holy cow, what a day. Blue team dominated all day, barely lost out on a rolling defence game, but won everything else. The teamwork and positioning was great. I had a great time sneaking through some bushes with a few others to take a base, and on said rolling defence game, we had a fantastic push over the ridgeline with a ton of smokes going down. Had a classic youtube montage moment, holding a flanks and taking out maybe 10-15 people before they got me. Kinda wish I had a camera just for that part of the game. Even my l86 having some hop issues couldn't put a damper on my day. -

Well, despite a wonderful day out yesterday, and finally proof that the gum really does work 👍, turns out the trigger group on my l86 broke ☹️ . The part that hold the trigger return spring in place has twisted, somehow, so it get stuck shooting. Such a small part but it will likely require a full trigger group replacement for about £40. Pretty sure I'm out of warranty since it's been a year since I got it. I'll have a word with ICS. Bleh. At least it was last game, so my mate using this didn't lose much playtime. -

Well, hello there. Me and my friends were chatting with you after that game. That defence was ridiculous. I think the other team, with you in the mix, were taking fire from three sides. 😂 -
Or how the TM Aug HC's fire select is the sharpest thing in existence. It cut me in one day of mucking about with it, so it got the file. Nice and rounded now, but idk why it's so sharp in the first place. I was actually thinking of doing reviews myself eventually. I'm in a unique position where I can probably get ahold of many different guns to test, and I'll be the one doing tech work on them too, but it won't be for at least a year since airsoft is so new to me and my business. It's something that needs to grow. But I have an idea of the general format: - Unbox + overview - specs with internals - breakdown/ease of use for tech work - how it shoots out of the box. FPS/RPS etc. - use on a gameday with longer range testing - conclusion The only thing I can't do is use after a long time, and full destruction tests since I'd probably still have to resell the gun as used. I'm glad to see other people share the concern of lack of comprehensive reviews out there, as it's what got me to start thinking about this. EDIT: I totally forgot what I was originally going to say. For content I like House Gamers if you can get passed the titles of his videos. Just seems like a guy who enjoys airsoft. And Negative Airsoft for the scathing criticisms of guns from a tech's point of view.

TM AUG High Cycle. Unfortunately I think it might be over the rps limit at worthing airsoft. Videos really don't do it justice.
