The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Badgerlicious replied to Skara's topic in General Discussion
I don't have much more to add than @Impulse. I definitely enjoyed my weekend overall, despite the lack of communication from the staff at some points. It was a really ineresting and fun site to play, and surprisingly not too small for the 300 players that were there. And though I heard accounts of it, I didn't personally witness any cheating with my own eyes. Everyone was playing hard and well, and the discord "drama" was a guilty sort of fun 🤣 rip my boy, Charles 🙏 All in all a good weekend of airsoft, despite my cars drive belt becoming spghetti on the way up. I would most likely go again with team beans, not sure I'd go by myself unless it was super close to home. And now I get to go home and not walk for 17 years while my legs recover. 🙃 -

So I played what may have been the best game mode I have ever played yesterday. The basic premise is a scientist (a marshal, Sam) that needs to be escorted across the site perpendicular to both team's spawns. He could be shot in the legs to stop him for 10 seconds, and was armed with multiple grenades. So it starts off with yellow having a slight advantage in terrain, so they managed to nab him first. But the best part of the game was Sam playing the part of the most squirrely, annoying, uncooperative scientist of all time, and it was goddamn hilarious. He managed to get away from yellow and ran back to his starting area, so our team (Blue) grabbed him. I let off some red smokes to stop them pushing us, and we still spent spent maybe 10 minutes, at some point literally, dragging him up the hill. We were basically playing a game of gun roulette as we switched out who was dragging him up the hill. At one point we got ambushed and he got away, where the yellow team grabbed him again. And again his being difficult helped us, in that he got away from the yellow, and a couple of my friends ended up lifting him up and carrying him towards the objective. It didn't stop here though, after we got him over the ridgeline he managed to take out his multi-use grenade and we spent another good 10 minutes holding his hands closed, dragging him towards the drop off point, with him occasionally dropping a grenade, killing the escorts, and being pelted in the legs to stop him getting away. All while we had to hold of the yellow team from grabbing him. I was completely out of ammo by the end. I had two pistol rounds and a grenade to help defend, getting ready to just run in with said grenade when we managed to secure the win. And it wouldn't be right to tell you all this without linking to our resident youtuber who uploaded all this action in record time! It was an absolute blast, everything airsoft should be. -
I personally use a feyachi V30. I was convinced after I saw a video of a guy smacking it with an ammo box and it held zero on his real UMP45. Plus it comes with a kill flash so your sight is safe from direct impacts without having to use a protector or cut a custom piece of lexan. And it's just under £70 on amazon. I know some of bushnell's lower end red dots are also popular, since they are designed to be used on real guns, so they hold up super well on airsoft guns, but they tend to stray over the £100 mark. If you want some zoom, you could look into LPVO's. I have a victoptics S6 1-6x24, really nice scope in the 1-4 range (get's a bit poor at 5-6x). So you've got decent close range performance with good zoom for about £130.

I think chrono was cursed yesterday. I've had my mp5 working fine all week. Dialed in the hop and sight in the morning, it was shooting great and feeding fine. As soon as I get to chrono, first shot jams. I just could not be bothered since I didn't have my tool bag with me, so it was a good chance to test my mates aap01, which shot really well. I also discovered the tac41 seriously needs locktite on everything. It was trying to shake itself apart all day, so that'll need some seeing to. Shot really nicely in the morning though. Good day though. Well fought games. Close ones, even though yellow had the edge all day. Mightve been too many snipers on our team 🤣 -
I had a scope delivered this week by DPD. The delivery page said I'd need photo ID so you can imagine how surprised I was when I refreshed the page and it there was a photo of it on my doorstep. Thankfully I keep an eye on these things when I can, so it had only been out there for a few minutes. But I doubt DPD would be super happy covering a few hundred quid because someone didn't want to knock for something that needed ID.

My own worst: Raven P226. Just cannot hop a thing. Even new parts, just refused to hop anything. Posting on a friend's behalf: G&G SR15. It's had to have a full gearbox rebuild as it would simply explode half way through a game day on the original bearings. Came from the factory with the motor unplugged. Just an awful product for something costing over £300. Best is more for personal reasons (unless my new tac 41 does well this weekend), but it's a nuprol delta ak21. It was meant to be a cheap project gun, learning internals, how to tinker with gearboxes etc. It's done that job well, but now it resides as my HPA DMR that has honestly never failed me for the last year or so since I've had it. Granted it's all new internals, and it took some shimming and whatnot to get the hop to behave. But it's the gun I bring when I want something that will just work. I can run it at 1j with a red dot as an assault rifle that can hit 60m pretty handily. I can cover it in scrim and use it as a silent precision weapon. Or I can pump the pressure and run it as a DMR to throw heavy BBS out past 70m. I love that thing.

No, it's exactly the same. -

AGM is the same stuff as far as I can tell. I have halo, a friend has AGM, both are exactly the same besides the shades being very slightly different. For all practical purposes they are the same. A good suggestion for someone on a budget! Though nothing else really gets as close to real leaves as halo (besides real leaves :D) -

The haloscreen bundle will get you more green, so if you're doing a summer ghillie I'd get that. Just make sure you get the "starter pack" as it's enough material to do a full ghillie. The laser cut stuff is a rip off. The nov set is more material for less, but half of the sheets are quite brown. I prefer cotton for brown as it ends up looking more like dried leaves. Saying that it's not a bad deal tbh. There's also AGM on empire airsoft, which I believe the large pack gets you more material than the halo starter pack, but it's still about the same price as the haloscreen. The small pack wont be enough for a full ghillie, but you could comfortably to a viper hood plus a gun wrap with it. I also seriously recommend Nutscene's dyed raffia. I'll link 'pesto' which is excellent for grass, but you can also use 'twill' and 'cinnamon' for replicating sticks. And 'olivine' I haven't seen before but that looks like it could be a really good colour too. https://nutscene.com/collections/crafts/products/nutscene-raffia?variant=15144827715619 -
Sniper sidearm AEG / green gas or CO2
Badgerlicious replied to Guy elson's topic in General Discussion
If you're a ghillie sniper, the mk23 is the classic choice. Lots of aftermarket parts to make it hit long ranges, and it's functionally silent so even at close range people wont hear you. As said though, it's not something you'd use for aggressive play. AAP01 is also popular recently. Though a friend just bought one through me and it didn't work right out the box so I gotta have a look at it, hopefully it doesn't need an RMA. -

😂 I actually run them at different times since my main "dmr" and the mp5 are both HPA. I've been eyeing up those stock bottles though... If I get one of those some interesting things might happen. -

Really great day, despite some technical issues. Good games, well fought, even though our team had the edge that day, it wasn't for lack of trying on the other team's part. In fact they had us on a timed assault game but someone threw a green smoke (toxic gas) which almost cleared the whole base but kept them standing around a couple of minutes while it burnt out. Just long enough to give us the win. Mp5k now feeds which is good, though I realised the alignment is really off with the nozzle, which is why it shoots so hard left. And the new ghillie works wonders already and it's not even finished yet! Getting looked over by someone that's only 10m away is a hell of a rush. Ah, wondered why I didnt see much of you today, not that I ever do 😂 Hope you can get out there more soon 👍 -
Yeah those masks rub my ears really badly, and also don't work at all with larger comms. Lonestar also do a snood mask with nose protection. I have one of their masks without it (Bravo) and it fits super nice. Doesn't slip I have a 61cm head, for reference.

may be an issue with my unit -hold for angry rant depending on reply- -
I hate one points. And those molle connecting ones are even worse because the weight on your rig becomes so lopsided. Get a two point. I have a viper VX sling with some amazon bought QD mounts (or I did until one QD point on my gun fell out, and the other rusted over due to my own negligence). It's just straps on the end so you can attach whatever mounting system you want, or just wrap it around the gun. But I don't think magpuls or other "real" gun slings are much more expensive.

Also had great fun at the Worthing night game. Thankfully it's still quite warm so sitting still in the dark didn't end up with me freezing. If anyone does do night games I cannot stress the importance of light discipline, the small blinking light on my tracer unit is a beacon in the dark. Also tying down kit. I've never actually lost anything until this game. Dropped stuff sure, but always found it. But now my angled torch is lost to the darkness 😭 Still, lots of fun was had. I got knife killed three times by some very sneaky bushes, tracers flying every direction is quite the sight, and not being able to really see beyond 40m really brings up the tension in the game. Definitely recommend a night game for anyone considering it! -

They really should have let your team push out to the bottom of clearing at least, or started holding us back sooner. Didn't help that they moved your spawn up right into my line of fire. I played nice and only shot those that raised their guns Savage ended up grenading two of our snipers with perfect line of sight down the path just to get the game moving, and I also only got moved out due to friendly fire. I was surprised when I finally had to respawn that half our team were being held at the next objective and it still took a while for the blues to push through. Still, the teams did get changed up at lunch and we had some very nice even games in the afternoon. Fighting over outpost (which is a bitch to attack) so the team that spawned closer wins that one, they switched the sides and so the other team gets to win that game, lol. Then some timed assault on tower which was also close. And a nice flip can meat grinder to finish. Was a good day overall, even though my new mp5 has decided to just shit itself and not work at all, so that's what I'll be fixing over the next few weeks. -
What I mean is the nurpol gearbox is a weird shape so a more standard gearbox may not fit properly into the body without modification.
-
Fitment with the gearbox perhaps? The delta series has a slightly thinner gearbox where the trigger unit sits, and is fitted in the body with some small pins that are moulded on the receiver. On my ak21 I had to do some filing which I could see causing issues with nozzle alignment.

Probably the elites or spec ops. The patrol gloves are quite thin, good for camo but not much for dulling a bb. But at the price of the elites you're not far off of a pair of mechanix. -
Thoughts on YT channel Negative Airsoft
Badgerlicious replied to BigBell1987's topic in General Discussion
Was there anything in that video about getting the gearbox to close or the selector plate not covering sensors? It still seems like excessive work when there's so many drop in mosfets for cheaper. I did enjoy his utter confusion at the mag button, where it stated the button was for magazine functionalities, and yet he had no idea what it was for 🤣 -

It's been a good week for h&k. Wolverine inferno in this JG mp5k. First game with it this weekend, it's gonna be good -
Hi! HPA is great, well worth considering with its ease of use, even with the initial cost. 1. No. They way HPA engines work that just isn't something that exists. Closest would be HPA converting a GBBR. 2. Really depends on the system but with a 48ci 3000psi tank, probably 1500 - 2000. There's a very rough estimate formula floating around that's (tank ci) x (tank psi) / (regulator psi) 3. HPA works all year round. 3b. basically maintaining the o-rings. I'm not sure on the exact time between greasing the o-rings but it's pretty long, months at least. It should be info provided in the user manual for whatever engine you buy. Some people will maintain religiously, others will neglect to do so for a year and their gun still runs. Best part is all you're ever likely to wear out is some o-rings which will be super cheap to replace. Also metal tanks need to be tested every 5 years, and could go on indefinitely, but it costs as much as a new tank. carbon fiber tanks are good for 15 years but can't be renewed.

Camman seems alright, at least he's never done anything egregious on camera. I think it's more a symptom of the airsoft-youtubersphere. KM is one of the most watched channels so it makes business sense to be on freindly terms with him. Same reason every youtuber has a video on a new novritsch gun when it comes out. Also if that 4 page rant is the one from zero in forums, that poster is as unhinged as KM.
