Probably more deans connectors in stock guns nowadays. We are no longer slaves to the backwards wired tamiya. Oh, TONS of options for VSRs. It'd be hard to recommend one brand in particular. Action Army hop unit is popular, but there's other TDC (top dead center) hop units. Stalker and sniper mechanic do good pistons and cylinders. EDGI Do excellent barrels. And maple leaf or flamingo hop rubbers are the usual go to. Not sure on the brands of trigger units, but there's some good 90 degree triggers about. Actually there's probably a lot more good sniper rifles on the market now. Silverback make the SRS and tac41, both excellent out the box. And ASG Do the steyer scout, which is generally considered the best out-the-box bolt action.

What does everyone really think of kickingmustang
Badgerlicious replied to Mk46 Mod0's topic in General Discussion
His attitude of escalation is by far the worst part of his content. And it's not alleged or rumor, it's right there in the videos he posts of himself. "Ok mate, no worries" fixes 95% of problems and he just isn't interested in it. He'd much rather ruin someone's day over a mistake for "content", instead of showing airsoft can be an actually fun hobby and a good way to make friends. He also seems to have a hold over every ghillie crafting group online and it's annoying af since they slowly turn into his own fan pages. -

My tac41 I think got water in the hop so it just stopped hopping. My mk23 was shooting at .3j and I vented my mag crawling, and in that same crawl I managed to snap the cable tie holding my aap holster in place. It was just a cacophony of failures right before lunch, so I packed it in. I got a lift from a friend so I was limited on room, hence no backups. I just know to not bring the tac out in the rain again. I have other guns that handle it much better. -

I recently got a Mimtech spring/summer reversable ghillie. I've actually had it a few weeks now, but it's still in the process of being fully crafted. Hopefully I can get some good pics this weekend. Since my last summer ghillie, as much as I love it, was falling apart, I decided to spend some cash on a decent base suit. The mimtech ghillies have popped up on skirmshop recently, and after seeing some videos and a friend buying one, I decided to pick it up myself. I'm not quite as enthused about the reversibility as I was a month ago, as it means you can't build up the crafting to be at all bulky if you want to actually switch the sides on it. On the other hand, the 2D base colours are so good that it really doesn't need heavy crafting, and it's helped me think about the efficiency of my added crafting material, instead on just throwing more on the pile. I got the L/XL sized one, I'm 5'9" and on the portly side, it's not too long, and roomy even with kit underneath. It's a really well made mesh base, with some well thought out features on the suit, such as clips to hold the front up to allow chest rig access, a decent length cape/back while not being long enough to get stepped on, as well as clips on the hood to attach to a boonie or other hat. The hood is HUGE which helps with breaking up the head shape on its own, as well as acting like a hide net to make you even more unrecognisable, even last game day when I was sat in front of a tree when both teams could see each other on spawn, and it still took a few minutes for anyone to even spot me. The sleeves have partial hand covers and bands to hold the min place, which is perfect for stopping your sleeves rolling up by themselves. Though I'm a L/XL glove kinda guy, and I find the bands a bit tight. I've resorted to only putting it around three fingers, which seems to work well. The trousers have some good stuff, like zips to access lower pockets, zips to help you get your boots in easily. However their quick adjust elastic band is pretty awful at actually keeping the trousers in place. At least it's easy to zip tie a pair of suspenders into place to hold them up. Overall I'm pretty happy, while it's about £250 for the whole base, you potentially get two suits in one. I shouldn't have to change my actual suit all year, just adjust which side I'm using depending on conditions. The below pics are lightly crafted, what I was running in game two weeks ago. The brown side is in use at the moment and it was definitely effective at range. It should be even better this weekend with some time put into it. (I'm not wearing the suit, but it shows how effective it ca be with light crafting) -
What are you're rig/vest recommendations
Badgerlicious replied to Gavin W's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
For just general m4 mags and playing assault, I have a kombat trojan chest rig. You can't change anything on it, but it's got enough room for everything I usually carry (4 mags, three pistol mags, two grenade pouches, admin pouch, and radio). It's held up for the last three years, no signs of coming apart at all, and I tend to drag it around on the ground when I play. I also recently got the bulle mle that @Tackle posted for my sniper loadout to sit under a ghillie. I also have something similar to what @Duff Beer posted, but made by bulle (I believe it goes by "lightweight chest rig"), that's crafted and goes on the outside of a ghille. Both of these are specifically so I don't have anything on my front, and I can lie down without mags digging into my ribs. The velcro on the top panel/pocket of the lightweight rig is coming apart so it's kind of annoying to use, but eveything load bearing is still holding up fine. These are all super cheap rigs, so I say they've easily made up their value. -

Since there's very little online about this, hopefully someone in my position can know for sure. The Marui MP5K PDW Folding Stock fits the JG MP5k perfectly. It's also beautiful. -

It was a good day at Worthing. Glad I went as I was on about 2 hours of sleep. Thankfully I could get a lift, if I'd had to drive myself I'd not have gone. It was a smaller turn out than usual due to it getting colder I presume, but after everyone had warmed up with the first two games the fights got a lot better. TAC was shooting well, even in the wind. I also ran an AAP01 i bought off a mate, barely used, with a couple of extended mags and managed to shutdown some pushes with it. Hop up was finicky to set, but once it was dialed in it performed quite nicely. Definitely looking forward to adding some extras and fine tuning it a bit, I get why people like it so much. It was also the first run of my new mimtech S-RCS ghillie. It was pricey but it's a solid bit of kit with really, really, good colours on the base. For the morning I ran the green side, even though it's still quite green at the site, I think it was a bit bright for the time of year. For the afternoon I ran it on the brown side, which worked out much better. The first two games were pretty lackluster as @Impulsesaid. No one on our team (yellow) really pushed. I tried at the end of the second game, after we switched sides, with just a pistol but it didn't work out that well 😂I was mostly busy that game landing some nice shots on their players moving up that were peeking over a barricade thinking they were safe. The juggernaut game was a lot of fun. A gaggle of ghillies (5 of us) decided to flank up a path that put us right outside the patrol zone. It was a bit of a waiting game, trying to not be spotted by an LMG wielding marshal, and waiting for the bell that disabled the juggs for 30 seconds to be rung. Fortunately blue team were on it, and managed to ring the bell, unfortunately they were a bit slow on the push, so I managed to get into a good window and just spray into their push while some others on our team grabbed a can. It was first to two cans wins, and blue rung the bell both times 🤣 Next game was standard attack/defence on tower. I got some nice long range hits on people. Accidently youtuber'd it by hitting a guy in the head at 70ish meters. Though if I had a cam I could at least edit out the first two misses before the third one hit and pretend I'm much better than I am 😆 Yellow team did well this time. Took some encouragement but they pushed into tower and we managed the win. After lunch was the highlight for me, other than the jugg game. It was a fallback defense through a few of the bases. The twist being the attackers had to run a stretcher through those bases to claim them as a spawn point. Defenders were on one life with a medic before having to fall back. It started with a real test of my new ghillie, by sitting down in front of a tree in full view of the attacker's spawn. Had to hold still for a few minutes because some dog walkers wandered onto the site and I didn't want to get seen while we were all waiting. I managed to get away with this for a few minutes longer than I expected to, which I will call a success for now. The next point I spent mostly firing shots into the bushes hitting flankers with the aap. Again, loving this thing, it performed admirably, and being able to use my old glock mags is a big plus for a sniper's side arm (lookin' at you WE galaxy). I was hit a couple more times and ended up falling back to sandbag bunker, a notoriously defendable position, while the blues tried to run the stretcher out of tower and past the cross. I don't how long we held this position for, but it must've been close to 30 minutes. I was positioned perfectly behind the bunker to cover multiple barricades they were using to push up, as well as the cross itself. Just landing shot after shot. I don't think I've had that many kills in a single game, ever. They eventually managed to flank an push the last of us out, but that only pushed us back to outpost, which we held for perhaps a further 10 minutes before the game timed out at 55 minutes. Then we switched sides. It was massacre. Yellow team had really stepped up from the morning. We were swift and efficient. Though I was mostly sore and slowly walking with the team picking off the odd player. We finished the game off in a tidy 18 minutes. These are teams that had been fairly well balanced all day, so it was a pretty big win for us. The finale was a quick game of zombies. mostly a laugh, but I want to highlight my friend who flipped his autumn version of the mimtech ghillie to the brown side, totally uncrafted, and I watched two pretty competent regulars run right past him, within a couple feet, because the colouring on that thing is so spot on to the damp autumn ground leaves. The mim & tech ghillie is great. Really solid base with excellent colours. You can really get away with lightly crafting it at longer ranges. I don't think mine is quite up to "getting stepped on" quality yet, but with a bit of time and a bit more crafting I'm certain I can get that without it being too bulky. And now I've got two ghillies in one that should work throughout the year. I should've gotten more pics, but here's a couple of my lightly crafted s-rcs -
This is why adjustable slings are king. You can leave it loose for unimpeded movement, then tighten it down if you want to switch to a pistol, or (more realistically) stand around having a chinwag with your mates 😁

Just the bottom "bulge" on the mag.

If you put them on the inside you effectively get accurate side sighting. I had a red dot like this for a little while before getting it set up on top of my scope. It's not terrible if the sight can rest between some pouches, but you lose a lot of visibility to the side. It's a lot better if you need to shoot close range and have a scope with some zoom on, though not many people run 1j "DMRs" (though you should, it's a great playstyle).

The war in Ukraine has been a big drain on the surplus business recently. Basically all the surplus kit goes out there, so any business are currently either circulating gear or finding other ways to get it, but that's obviously not as reliable as buying bulk from the main distributor of surplus gear. As Lozart said, there's a lot online, but there's also not a set way to guarantee you'll be getting good condition gear, seeing it in person is the only way. Even stuff listed at grade 1 is you relying on the seller to be checking the gear thoroughly.

Lonestar Spec-Ops Sierra Mask anyone used one?
Badgerlicious replied to Hunka1988's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
A friend got one earlier this year and he isn't a fan of the sierra mask. It directs air upwards and doesn't really stay on his face at all. Though myself and another friend both have the bravo mask and those are really good, they just leave your nose exposed. The side of the face has basically no protection, just whatever material thickness you pick. So same as the rest of you would get from a t-shirt. -
G&G ARP 556.

The S6 is truly a great scope. And I forgot to point out the one thing that sets it above all others, a really, really cool reticle.

When safety becomes a concern, such as in this case, take it to the staff. If they aren't bothered, then they don't deserve your money, or anyone's money. And you'll probably feel a whole lot more guilty if you give someone a pass for a near miss and they end up blinding some poor bugger taking a dump.

The imperfections is probably the only difference, if it is a difference, besides power adjustment and volume. Though, with an aeg it will be easier to get enough volume in a longer barreled rif with a tighter bore. And you should probably clean your barrel regularly if you're trying to do anything approaching precise for airsoft.

MOLLE the start of the tacticool

Though it's a nice way to quickly attach pouches while you're configuring a new piece of kit and you just need to figure out if the placements work before you commit to weaving it properly. -
Low power ‘hit’ - bounce or direct hit?
Badgerlicious replied to ParHunter's topic in General Discussion
I had a pistol shootout with a guy a few months ago, I was just in a fairly open area ambushing people trying to get past a bush, we were maybe 30-40m apart in full view, both firing about 5 rounds each at each other, neither of us actually moved at all, mine happened to hit first. He didn't say much, but there was certainly some muttering of disbelief. And a number of times I've just had shots go everywhere around me but hit me, like a cartoon bullet outline, and I've been on the other side of it. You'd be hard pressed to convince me that 90% of players calling cheat have actually landed a single bb on target. -
I see you've made your pick. For anyone else deciding, or if this doesn't work out for you, I have the victoptics s6 1-6x24. It's an excellent sight for 1-4x magnification, great quality within that range with excellent eye relief, but seems to lose focus at 5x and 6x, but for airsoft that isn't an issue. From what I understand vector/vict optics is a chinese brand that makes budget scopes for real guns, not just cheap airsoft ones. So they tend to be a bit more robust that your typical amazon's choice deal. Btw for scopes I highly recommend opticswarehouse. Uk company, they have a good range of stuff and nicely detailed info pages.

Best worst airsoft accesoires
Badgerlicious replied to Smiling-Dutchman's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
100% in agreement on 3d printed stuff. Doesn't help that the two things I've had close contact with (my own suppressor adapter and a mate's drop stock adapter) completely shat themselves within the first half of their first day out. Moulded or metal for those things. Even pot metal will hold up better. However, for bipods I'm 50/50 on. One that fits just right can be a great addition to someone who spends a lot of their time down in the dirt pretending to be a hedge. It's a niche application though. Personal pick, that flip-to-side magnifier with the quick spring function. They suck. They suck so much. -

I've not heard anything like that. Might be about a comment I saw on how the exit road was the current play area. I can't imagine the marshals would stop the game to let one player go home just cos they're having a strop. We all knew this would be the case, and I imagine someone with a legit reason would be able to leave. They have poor communication, they're not monsters. We ended early on sunday anyway. Also forgot the hilarious levels of bitching about spawn advantage, apparently from both sides. But one tan in particular despite green having a much longer run due to being all they way in the tan half of the field both days 🤣 @Spartan09 I was green, but it's a real shame to hear about some greens being scummy that way. I think those mesh covers on the barriers spawned a few instances of grumbling on Saturday morning, because they were impossible to see from any distance, the tape helped but I found people still shooting at me despite being behind a big piece of "floating" tape 😂 And the rules on hard cover with flappy bits of tarp plus a ton of ricochets didn't help either.
