The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Badgerlicious replied to Skara's topic in General Discussion
They can be useful even if the regular player base is excellent. At mine they are enforcing the games rules for the most part, being a repsawn or watching over objectives to make sure they are played fairly. I haven't seen it but I have heard of people being removed from site for breaking site rules. Quietly and unseen is the best way to deal with it for sure. -

It does only take a few bad apples though. Driver also strikes me as a site that only cares about maxing player count. It means enough for walk-on only games so they go hard, but there's a much higher chance of some dipshits turning up. But the site has your money now, and since they're the "premium" site in the area so they don't care, they'll always get players next weekend. -
With a raised optic, 12 o'clock works well for me. Even with a suppressor you only really block the ground you can't see through the gun anyway. Plus if you have a torch with a brighter spot in the middle it doubles as a crude laser, makes it a bit easier to snapshot at close range.

Could you outline the boundaries of the site? that'd make it easier to plan the layout -
Heavier BBs, 0.36 to 0.40, Most Cost Effective To Buy In 2022?
Badgerlicious replied to Fatboy40's topic in General Help
I thought you already used heavier? It's worth it for sure, they fly so true. And if you're placing shots rather than being a typical assault player you don't need as many. I probably do 1000 shots on a very trigger happy day. 100%. Running heavy ammo and a gun built for accuracy gives you an advantage over a lot of other guns at those extreme ranges. If you can be accurate even when your bbs are dropping off you are functionally out ranging people, despite being technically within range of each other. Add a magnified optic to that and you can pick people off through the tiniest gaps in foliage. Then add a ghillieand you become a total menace to the other team 😂 -
You won't have to pay vat yourself on anything under £135, the store themselves has to do that. 4 weeks is insane delivery time. Granted I payed about £30 delivery on my rather large order but it took 5 days and that was over a weekend.

Well, you can get 45k for the same price if you really like stripping gears. A warhead + an AB++ will give you most of what you seem to want for £130. ETU's do jump up in price with their optical sensors and what not, and a few of those can be programmed on the fire selector so I guess it's a case of putting the right code into the lil chips do do something like that. Or another button elsewhere. You are right in that airsoft is incredibly slow to innovate. It's been a long while since I was into RC and I was surprised at the lack of brushless motors once I learned how they all go together. Hell, we still use backwards wired tamiyas as standard. Deans is only just starting to become normal in stock guns. And, considering how tangential this got. To the main post, I recently tried to fit some MR hop backings into a zci barrel in a prowin hop and it was really, really unhappy. The contact patch is too large for the zci barrel window so it gets hung up and shots were going way left. But, fitted a macaron and it's happy as can be.

Nice, I can finally get the shims I need 👍 To OP, I had to pay about £13 in duty taxes after ordering a kythera and a few other bits. I paid it and the vat as soon as I got the email and it go through okay. Though as highpressureairsoft are back up it's worth looking at them
-
Well, that's kind of what titans and some other ETU's do, with an app to make changes and data logging, knowing where the sector gear is etc. You just can't do that with a dumb circuit the ab++ is designed to fit in to. Also is ~£100 for a uniquely form factored brushless motor with an esc that bad? From my brief stint in the RC world it seems... reasonable.
-
Well, you can counter a lot of the rattle when you're holding the gun, something you can't do when it's in your kit.
-
Thanks for the update. Maybe if I get a bonus this year or something 😂 As much as I want one, £170 for an okay but potentially poorly working gun is a bit steep.
-
You can get rid of a lot of it by brimming the reservoir, covering the top with your thumb and shaking the mag to get the bbs to settle, and repeating that a few times until the bbs can't move at all. You can dive around all day and they won't make a peep until you start using it.

Hey @kasaran how's the V3 holding up after a few months? How does it shoot generally? I'm looking at getting one now that it seems to have reasonable performance.

Getting back into airsoft after many years?
Badgerlicious replied to SussexMatt's topic in New Players & Arrivals
Come down to Worthing airsoft for a weekend. It's a good site for more relaxed gameplay. -
DMRs are an odd one in the UK. Limits and requirements are all over the place. Some sites only care about power limits, some sites require it to be based on a full power cartridge using rifle. They also take work to get effective. Putting a bigger spring won't just give you a long range accurate gun. It's worth looking into of course, it can be a fun playstyle, but it's one that relies on the equipment more than the typical airsoft meatshield play style. Tbh I'd worry about getting a regular reliable AR and think about a DMR as a second gun. With all the tinkering and upgrading you'll do it's a good idea to have a backup.

A site near me does the same. My local site is red = incendiary. No survival, everyone dies. It's a great way to clear an objective, or your own team if you get the wind direction wrong 😂 Worthing has also been around for a very long time but only just got a chemical toilet in this year 👍 Best staff though. -

Do you mean using certain coloured smokes as deadly gas to clear an area? -
I will link the holy grail DMR thread: https://www.airsoftsniperforum.com/threads/the-holy-grail-of-building-your-dmr-aeg.892/ It's an old post but the fundamentals still stand up today. Three things to consider nowadays is getting a brushless motor, I recommend a Warhead Black, that will pull damn near anything while having good speed, a maple leaf MR rubber that will mimic the hop rubber mod, and radiusing the gearbox to reduce stress on the front end when going to higher powered springs.

It is a total mess for DMR's though. Honestly the reason I'm looking into HPA, so I can adjust to DMR limits or run at 1.1j depending on the site. Also None of this makes sense. 370fps on a .32 is 2j.

My gun rings like a bell after every shot

That and the forward assist spring. -
Cracking day at Worthing. Running an assault loadout for the first time in a while. It was going great until I decided to tinker at lunch and then it all went downhill 😭 Anyways I quite enjoyed this setup I think it'll be what I run when I'm not being a bush in the future. Plus I think it looks pretty cool 😄
