  1. In fairness to some of us, i think op has gotten some pretty respectable feedback as well as the general abuse...
  2. We weren't going to mention it, but, not to put too fine a point on it - yes
  3. I do however, dispute both of these statements. (The below isn't meant to sound confrontational, but probably does, I'm more going for thought-provoking). Marketing himself in this way turns me right off, yet I am HIGHLY competitive and tend to play hardball, because I REALLY like winning. I would say he needs to define the goals of his team, their objectives and how they want to achieve them in terms of play style, more information on team structure, details of the training, what he thinks makes a good airsofter more than 'pass my selection' - tell people what he wants and expects and anyone who wants to have something more focused in their airsoft-life will gravitate toward it. If he wants to list specific loadouts, fine, but have a well thought out argument as to why I need to spunk hundreds of pounds on fitting in to your requirements... As for saying elite airsoft and NOT elite real steel, the focus he was putting on this 'Colonel Bateson' and the use of ranking to me says they WANT it to be comparable to real steel, though of course everyone interprets things differently...
  4. My advice to OP would be to make use of the community here, sure we're belligerent, but we're a lot like an angry German Shepherd - give us some bacon, maybe a sausage or two, maybe some belly rubs and we've got your back. If you want to be the best at anything you've got to sweat, and you could do worse than seek advice from our AF-UK family, on all things in your endeavor, from the web design aspects (which I'm sure someone could help you with), to augmenting any RS based training you have into something more useful for airsoft, through to weapon repair and maintenance (useful for any team, and pretty much the ONLY reason to demand everyone uses the same weapon). If, between us here, we don't pretty much know everything worth knowing about dressing up and playing toy-soldier in the woods, then I will eat my hat (you'll have to buy me a hat first).
  5. I wasn't going to get involved, I didn't want to get involved, but I'm doing it, I just can't stay away. I'm calling shenanigans. You're resting a lot on this 'Colonel Bateson' who was in the Infantry, British Special Forces and the SAS-Reserves. I'm sure he has signed the official secrets act, but you're making a big deal of nothing. I know a gentleman who was in a VERY special regiment, so special he won't even go into which force he was in. He's an open book about all his training, mostly because he knows most of it is f**king useless on the airsoft field, unless EVERYONE is playing the same game. Instead he's spent four or five years learning how to play airsoft, much as I have and that's why he's good. Next up, he's an open book, and that's how you can tell he's legit, he'll discuss anything on his terms, you don't even hear about the official secrets act because you don't get the chance to bring anything up that might be an issue, because frankly, the training isn't secret 'cause pretty much everyone knows about it, it's the horrible dirty tactics that are used to turn the odds that you don't need to know about, and those aren't always about being 'uber-1337', sometimes, from what I gather, they're about being an evil c**t so bad it keeps you up at night for the rest of your life if you aren't careful. So long story short, I'm not so sure about 'Colonel Bateson'. Next, 99.9& need not apply, because it's a state of mind (you might already have it), so you're the Royal Marines now? Come up with something original, not that it matters 'cause anyone can pass, right? Rankings, military ranks is fine for some, some people are into that, for me, I know a man who was a sergeant, he shot children once, largely because it was do-or-die, now, he has no family, his wife left him and took his kids because he became convinced the devil was speaking to him and threatening to take them from him so he went a bit coo-coo, he even pissed himself in the supermarket once because he started seeing stuff. He probably wouldn't approve of you giving yourselves ranks for playing soldier, I would say, even if you lot are okay with it, have a little consideration for the fact that A LOT of airsofters are from the forces, either now or in the past. Also, 'Officer entry' - really? Next up, uniform and specific weapons? Again, I call bull. If you know anything about airsoft, you know it's a hobby in which pretty much any AEG can be tuned to be as good as any other AEG, same with GBBR etc. If you were sensible you'd know that the best setup for each airsofter is what works for them. Let your team decide what they need to give you 100%, because if you gave me X, Y and Z, but I wanted A, B, C, I know I'd get annoyed at being uncomfortable and end up not giving it my all. Your website is hardly elite, spellcheck is your friend. There are no photos of you playing/working together as a team, this doesn't make you seem legitimate. You're also not, by definition, an organization, at best you're a team/network. Calling it 'the organization' doesn't make it any more 'elite'. I'm going to stop before I start to sound cruel.
  6. I used to work there and can safely and honestly say that I would trust the people who run the place with my literal, actual, genuinely hairy, testicles.
  7. Personally I don't find any benefit to the additional 22fps we're allowed now, the range difference is insignificant if everyone is on a level playing field and if you've sorted your internals out as best you can, you'll still shoot far (my L85 at 320 could outrange pretty much anything fielded against me). Sniping doesn't fuss me, I find it pretty useless, usually because most snipers (not all) are like 'OMFG COD 360NOSCOPE' when actually they've got a s**t rifle that has no upgrades and aside from being a totally-discreet fluorescant green, is about as accurate as throwing BBs at people. Very few people spends the f**ktons required to get a real airsoft sniper rifle setup. The most success I've ever had with sniping was a heavily upgraded 350fps SVD which I used more as a sharpshooter rifle than a sniper rifle. This being said, I think I officially count as one of the 'old men' of airsoft nowadays so I might just be a bit belligerent!
  8. Just seen that JBBG also have 'JAG'v- their own airgun retailer - should these morons really be allowed to retail airguns?

You can not bring a Karcher to a water pistol fight - don't think they chrono but they would know it was too hot/powerful - plus the fact you would blast kids 30ft down the garden would be a give away

  11. Oscar The Destroyer is trying to lick my feet! Furry suicidal b***tard!

  12. Interesting fact for the day: at 350fps, when your bb leaves the barrel, for a split second it's diing 238mph. Bugatti veyron eat your heart out.

Haha, glad to hear it Fin, cannot stand people like that. They'll rage on the internet to make themselves feel better for being an absoulute fanny in person!

  14. I don't know if this factors into discussion as I haven't been keeping up but The Grange near Birmingham/Coventry will do private bookings, even on weekends, think the minimum is 20 people charged at standard rate? They're a good bunch, their site(s) are second to none in terms of effort put-in and quality control and it's pretty much smack bang in the middle of the country AND easily accessible by train from either of the two cities.
  15. Really ought to re-explore my legal training.

  17. LOL. HAI GAIZ I GOT A GNU AN IS DA BEST AN NEED UBER 1337 MAGZ FOR MAH 360NOSCOPING. No. I've now disposed of most of my gear due to not really skirmishing a lot as I don't drive and I don't know anyone locally well enough to cadge a lift (also recently become addicted to plastic crack cocai...I mean Warhammer 40k). I've decided to just keep my M4, it took me several years to build and it's my baby, it's also set up just right for me. However, there's a problem. Green label and genuine magpul eMags fall out of it when running, I've replaced the mag catch a couple of times to no avail. Now, I think there's a few possibilities here. 1. The mag catches I've put in aren't substantial enough - does anyone know of any that have extra metal on the magwell side to hold mags firmly? 2. The magwell itself is too big - this is possible, I can't recall the brand but you can't actually get these receivers, they were only produced in limited quantities a long time ago, I don't know of any manufacturers who ever got the magwell too wide though. 3. Magpul products are sh*te - this is true either way, whether this is the cause of my embuggerance is up for dispute. Any thoughts/anyone had similar issues/know of suitable solutions for my woes? Cheers AF-UK.
  18. It's legally manufacture, manufacture is limited by the VCRA in the same ways as selling... The details of this though, are open to interpretation, I don't believe manufacture to be restricted by age, some do, the question is, do you feel lucky?
  19. I sympathize with you, however in the interests of this being a PG13 forum, I have edited your title to something more appropriate.
  20. Try a LARP forum, you may even find instructions to make your own if noone knows where you can get one?
  21. The Prevention Of Crime Act 1953, The Knives Act 1997, The Offensive Weapons Act 1996. The first has various attached HO documents stating what is naughty and what is not, the others have similar definitions in them, though I can't be bothered to go rummaging to quote. The Restriction Of Offensive Weapons Act 1959 names certain knife types specifically, butterfly/gravity/spring assists etc. The Criminal Justice Act 1988 expressly states that anything other than a folding pocketknife is naughty in public. There are exempt knives (pocket-legal), but even with those, if it is deemed you had it with intent to hurt someone, it's still illegal. That said, in recent times the courts and the police have been told to be harder on knife prosecutions...
  22. See so many people my age bitching about their lives and how they want money and fame. I've got a house, my fiancee and my dog. I'm good.

That's the way to be... I currently know I am leaving my job which I haven't been that happy doing, everyone at work keeps asking me if I have found another one yet. My answer is always no and they seem so shocked that i'm so happy. I'm moving because my other half got her dream job and it has given me an excuse to change career paths. win win in my book.

  23. The Grange in Berkswell/Coventry are hands down, the BEST site I have ever had the privilege of playing at or working for. They have two diverse sites (I think they're also using another now, but I only have experience of the one) and they run a shoot at each almost every weekend, they have professionally built facilities, a fully stocked shop and gun tech on site and hand cooked food available. Games start promptly once the safety brief is out of the way and run smoothly with hydration breaks here and there and a lunch break around 1-ish. You also know they're good people because they have a dog. The only detractor is that they do have what I'd call a highly-competitive house-team who know all the tricks and usually stick together, this often leaves one team of experienced players and another team with newbies, that said, you can approach any of the marshals if you're not having a good time and state your case, you'll never be ignored!
