  1. From what I remember there were several different cuts of window in PDI barrels. Was one of the reason why they were a bit of a nightmare to R-Hop, together with the angles of certain cuts.
  2. From looking at their website, seems to be a mix of aluminum and steel construction. Then they varying barrel choices. Part of the appeal is the M249 gearbox. Also the option of a L7A2 or M240L.
  3. For the sake of a tenner, would certainly go with the warhead. As the above poster referenced, you should get a snappier semi response. Also the efficiency should be higher, so get more shots out of the same battery. Which if you are using certain AK stick lipo batteries can be a plus. The ASG motors can also be a bit bulky. Have had fitment issues in the past with certain motor cages. Although it was only one or two brands. It can also cause difficulty with some pistol grips. No fun to have to remove the stickers off the motor and sand a pistol grip to fit. The motor tabs from what I gather have been improved on later batches. They also seem to have reverted to a more traditional set up than the wires based system. The later while handy for certain set-ups was an absolute nuisance for others e.g. MP5 style grip. Just take it slow during the install and be careful with wire placement (To echo Hamster).
  4. Not had a specific problem with that website. More generic advice would be to try a different web browser or clearing your cookies/cache on your current browser.

That could certainly be the culprit. Had a V2 gearbox, where it was quite gritty sounding. Ended up having to knock the gears out with a pin punch. Opted to replace the bearings with bushings and seems to be holding up nicely.
  6. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. One of the main pluses for Revision was the available thermal lenses. Would be a pity if either of the firms discontinued their fan offerings. Certainly have been tempted by the ex-fog system in the past. One of my coroners would it being snagged on various kit. Headwear/goggles/mesh mask and potentially comms kit. Can feel a bit like bondage even before adding in various rubber parts.

Any clue as to the specs of the motor? Might be an avenue worth exploring...
  8. Looks fairly promising. Revision desert locust fan goggles are usually close to two hundred quid. Turbofans being somewhat similar and more difficult to find. Haven't seen smith OTW goggles in a few years. So nice to have some additional options.
  9. Have a LCT HK33. As featured in the Thing 1983 (albeit the semi auto version) and its 2011 Prequel.
  10. As regards the gears, that's an interesting question. Have seen one video on Youtube where that particular brand failed very quickly. Tried to fit a set recently in a LCT gearbox (also 16:1 ratio) and got nowhere. Far too much resistance between the gears and didn't feel comfortable putting no shims on one gear underside. Eventually went with a different brand. Which gear (bevel/sector/step) did the teeth fall off, out of curiosity?
  11. Benefits of being scrim scarf master race aficionados.
  12. Seems to be a trend with the Hong Kong stores lately. Find myself buying the occasional obscure item from the US more than the far east these days.
  13. True had forgotten about that one. Something other than a M4 or PCC monstrosity is still welcome.
  14. Might lead to an UZI down the line. Of course the same was said when the VFC MP7 came out....
  15. In my case it was with a m nub. That was an AK style hop unit. Your hop unit might work nicely with the flat nub. Usually comes included with the modify rubber. Would try that first before modding a hop up arm to fit the m nub.
  16. Out of those listed, have had the most success with the snipetor r-hop patches. The caveat is that I used it with a modify flat rubber rather than the snipetor flat hop bucking. Would possibly go down the R-hop route for say a DMR. The dsg would probably just use something like those options suggested above.
  17. Yeah that seems like a fair summation of the brand. Seems to be claiming to be largely V2 based so replacing a few internals shouldn't be too taxing. Hopefully the hop is half way decent. Perhaps some after market offerings might fill the void if not...
  18. The upcoming re-release of King Arm's FN-FAL series. Just like the past five years.... Also looking forward to the Lambda defence GPMG/M240 series later on in the year.
  19. On the plus side, LCT are releasing their G3K this month. Far as I know, it is the first time that model is available. Still no sign on King Arms bothering with their L1A1/FAL re-release.
  20. In fairness to the company, their FN FAL seems to have had good reports for the first batch.
  21. Various STANAG magazine adapters for sniper rifles. So you can use your 300 round hicap with a bolt action rifle.
  22. Will give them credit for at least launching with different variants. Imagine at some stage we will have a Novritsch AK series.
  23. Quite right. Unfortunately what they seem to make these days according to their social media is PCCs, revolvers and M1/2 carbines.
  24. Think it was the second half of the decade. Find references to the "new NS2" system in reviews from 2007/2008. For example a review from Arnies from 2008 making reference to the new System 7. https://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/157508-ksc-sigpro-sp2022/
  25. True the uptake will probably be somewhat similar to lipo batteries. Interesting that thus far (to this best of my knowledge) no company has them as standard in the AEGs. Think one of them (possibly VFC?) were hinting at introducing a range with them out of the box.
