Those of you who have Rhodie Painted your pews...
DerDer replied to Austeyr's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Think of the poor souls that painted their rifles in UCP. Grim. -
Think you might be quite close with that estimate. Expect it's RRP to be higher than the RPD and SVD. Assume they will do a polymer furniture model too. They could use very similar parts to the PKP.
-
A type III milled AK GBBR would certainly be an eye catcher.
-
Seems like the next release after the East German AK, will be the PKM. Imagine the price and weight will be significant. They might show off some of their other upcoming releases at this month's MOA show. The PKM will be there.

Never saw the appeal of the obsession with NVA (both German and North Vietnamese flavours). They were Communist dictatorship states. I'm only extracting the urine. Have had Strichtarn and Brushstroke kit in the past. Also +1 on avoiding Reddit for mental well being. -
RIP to the SCAR, FN Ceased Production.

Exactly. From a customary glance of Wikipedia seems like the Belgians (very logical choice) and the Portuguese choose to make it their service rifle. The HK416 being adopted by a lot of the high speed folk didn't help things. -

Slovenian Army can't catch a break. First the FN2000 and now the Scar. -
Video showing off the M60. On the positive front, the battery storage looks better than I expected. On the other hand, the cardboard construction of the box mag and needing an Allen key to connect it would be a concern.
-
Good catch on that. If it's the case will make it awkward from a performance standpoint. Also we seem to have a release date. Take it with a grain of salt, often ends up a month or two later before it's actually available. Still seems like it's this year, at least.

Had some unpleasant experiences with some hop up units in the past. Lonex AK hop unit that required filing and cutting to fit together. Required modification to assemble it and attach it to the barrel. Did fit in a Galil that was quite picky with hop chambers. Then there was a LCT HK33 which I tried three aftermarket hop units. One wouldn't fit at all. The second fit the AEG but after assembly wouldn't allow a magazine to lock in. The third did but just wouldn't feed. One of the units was a Retro arms and the other a G&G, going off memory. Eventually just put the stock unit back in and sold it at a heavy loss to a local at a site.

G&G had a RK replica in the past, so there might be hope with the various Scandi adoptions. A Sako or something like an IWI Arad would be a nice new replica. Scratch the AR but not quite itch.
-
We will have nice functioning MCX and KS-1 replicas. Then Project GrayBurn will decide to go with the Beretta or Sako offering.
-
Correct, it's described in the email as a "commercial decision" to discontinue their lines. If I wanted to be charitable, most of the offerings weren't on that home office list. However a certain design based on an Italian firm's products was included in the ban list, was among the offerings of the sale (Both in black and blue). Not very good behavior.

One thing for a display piece, another for a skirmish. If the latter would definitely go for the aluminum model. Will be curious to see opinions, particularly on the box mag.
-
That email from a retailer announcing a blank pistol clearance sale last month, makes a lot more sense now.
-
Was it a hop up unit you were looking for? They seem very rare these days. A couple of places have the box mag inserts at least.
-
Land Warrior seem to have some available on their website, the aluminum version coming in under the 1K mark and the steel above it. https://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/product/lct-m60e4-6061-aluminium-electric-airsoft-rifle-215289 https://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/product/lct-m60e4-steel-electric-airsoft-rifle-215288

That would be swell. LCT does a nice job on the externals. Hope you do a good variety of models similar to some of the other ranges. That's a good point. Forgot about the various inconsistencies of the mags. Last time I played around with a MP5 was a loaned Classic Army B&T a decade plus back.
-
Looks promising. Hopefully the mags are more reliable than their other HK magazines. Would be too easy for them to be cross compatible with another brand.

Reminds me of Hot Fuzz.
-
To each their own. Personally I tend towards Echo for the brush cutter/ trimmer and Husqvarna for saws. Will say the Ms500i is a cracker though.
-
As an aside, that's a nice looking brushcutter. Might be a Shindaiwa.

Had a tangent sight WE quite a few years back. Worked okayish as a holster filler but you're quite right, matter of when it would give up the ghost. TM P320 seems to be making progress (ignoring real steel problem), so we might get a Browning at some stage.
-
It's amazing the way it already starting to clog up the results page. Top ten/five videos featuring computer generated voices and nothing but stock footage. Not exactly hoverboards and flying cars. Still at some stage we might get a Tokyo Marui GBB Hi Power. Which would go nicely with an Iranian Embassy loadout.

Give it another decade and we will all be nostalgic about the ten minute video format. TikTok historian is quite a monstrous concept.
