  1. So. Let me throw this here. I want the gun to be as quiet as possible, filled the stock and barrel with foam and other sound absorbing materials, slapped a nice sorbo pad on the cylinder head, modified the internals of my suppressor, but there is still a very audible piston slapping sound, no matter what I do. Most likely it's caused by the messed up volume ratio (I believe the AS-02 sits around 4:1 or something like that) so it got me thinking: How can I reduce the cylinder volume? Four main options: Port the cylinder by drilling a hole; Apply another sorbo pad to further reduce the piston travel (consequently reducing the effective air output of the cylinder); Get a much wider barrel like a 6.20 or something; Make an airbrake. The first option is a big nope, I'm not willing to waste another sorbo on this gun, getting a widebore is out of question as well (because they're impossible to find here in italy), this leaves me with the 4th option, making an air brake.. I was looking at my piston (AirsoftPro one) and it got me thinking: The pad on the piston head is held in place by a screw. So I unscrewed it and noticed that the thread goes all the way through the other (spring) side: Brilliant, now what if I can find a screw that has the same thread, but is longer? So I started digging around in my box 'o bits and found some old gearbox screws, which appear to have the same thread as the piston head hole (M3) but are much longer: Voilà, fits perfectly But on its own, the screw isn't going to do much, so the next thing I did was to apply some heat shrink (unfortunately I don't have pictures of this step) just to see if it would work. And to an extent it did! Now that screw, which is a M3x20mm is definitely too short and it gets even shorter when you consider the sorbo pad on the cylinder head. So this morning I went and bought these: Some nice M3x30mm screws, note the different head shapes (bottom is the one I fitted yesterday). Also bought some washers and nuts. Tonight, when I get home from work, I'll install these longer screws and apply multiple layers of heat shrink (approximately until the whole thing fills the nozzle) and see what happens. What do you guys reckon? Will it work?
  2. Here, have a nice cursed SSX-23
  3. Odd. TMs should have zero issues lifting 0.25s.. Is the hop unit perfectly aligned to the nozzle? Is the tensioner applying decent pressure? Is it correctly seated in the hop arm? You mentioned a G&G rubber which I supposed is the green one, I only had issues with them. They just did nothing-nothing-nothing-JAM ALL THE BBS. I'd try with a Prometheus purple, I only had great results with them (mind you, I'm capped at 1J too ) hopping up to 0.28s nice and straight (wouldn't go heavier, after all it's still a standard mound rubber)
  4. The same stuff we told you to do in your other thread The action seems to be a L96 type (APS2), you may find upgrades a little hard to source though.
  5. Sniping is 95% using your brain, 5% pulling the trigger. Ghillies help but they're not indispensable, there are much more important skills to master first (proper movement and fieldcraft). With those two skills, having a bright neon pink band on your arm becomes irrelevant because you are aware of it and know how to conceal it from the enemy (without resorting to borderline cheating like wrapping it around the ankle/gear).
  6. More information? Energy output? what bb weight are you trying to lift?
  7. Do you really want something that's gonna shake itself to pieces? Since you already have HPA kit, get an E&L and Daytona the crap out of it
  8. It's actually the Italian name for the sequel for some reason
  9. The problem with E&Ls isn't the spring, they're just shit mags.
  10. The fuck are these "top 5" lists for? Anything TM, especially the Mk23. The average range of a stock pistol (not counting TMs nor MK23s) is the same as a stock rifle/carbine (a 1J pistol has the same range of a 1J rifle, change my mind). /thread
  11. Nope, if we bomb the fuck out of the Euro Tunnel and shut down all the airports/ports as soon as the first doses are administered
  12. Mk23 carbine kit?

    Or another AAP-01?

(I know the answer is both, but give me a chance 😢 )

      Tough decision.

As you only run 1J though I'd say aap. The mk23 carbine kit is great for a dmr with higher FPS but at 1J levels the aap for it's better rate of fire and trigger pull.

good luck getting another aap though 😝

  13. I like that you guys are the first to get the vaccine, so if y'all turn into zombies we don't have to worry about it since you're already isolated on an island
  14. I really don't like it... The stock seems flimsy as hell..
  15. Plenty of people out there who don't give a damn about performance and only want the looks.
  16. So I've had a rough morning at work, couple of rather unnecessarily heated arguments with two different clients who wanted shit done instantly, for basically free. Right after telling the second one to fuck off (literally), the postman knocked on my door and gave me this: One absolutely destroyed box. Fortunately the content was intact
  17. ^ dis. Sort the compression, good barrel (doesn't have to be fancy nor expensive, it needs to be STRAIGHT and have a good internal finish) and good hop. Tight bore vs wide bore is an eternal debate, I'd keep it to 6.05/6.08 internal diametre so that you have a good compromise between efficiency and reduced chances of the bb bouncing inside. Assuming you're talking about your VSR and if you haven't already, get a TDC. It vastly improves hop consistency, applying direct pressure on the tensioner, rather than having leverages that can flex. The flexing is minimal but you want to remove as many variables as possible that can mess up your shot. Energy output isn't everything to be fair, the difference between a 2J gun and a 2.25J gun is negligible so even if you're not bang on the limit it's not too big of a deal. Also, most important thing: use good bbs. They are expensive, but with a bolt action it's not like you're dumping thousands per day. After that, every improvement has to be done from the shooter's side don't blame the gun if you can't hit shit
  18. Now that S4 is being filmed, thoughts on season 3? I found it rather odd compared to S1 and 2. Can't explain it, but some episodes weren't really catching my attention.
  19. "Sniper R96 Well camouflaged, used three times, 2 magazines + hop adjustment key (which I suspect is just a simple allen key) and 3-9 scope, bipod. PM for info, €200 + postage" (nobody told him that the whole package is like 150 new and comes with a warranty) Yes. Wow.
