  1. Yes, I run a plastic Murcan canteen. It carries liquid, you can drink from it, it worked fine during all those wars that Murca lost "drew". Plus side, it's easier to clean than a CamelBak, downside, it's totally "not" leeching plastics into the water. I should really look into finding some sort of stainless steel solution with the same dimensions before my cognitive fakulties deegrayd 2 fur.
  2. That battery connector looks like the standard one on the original nimh TM (and CYMA clone) AEPs. So you have got an AEP battery, it's just that your AEP is too uPgRaDeD to use it. Short of downgrading the pistol back to an old style connector (and I don't know where you'd get one), if you're feeling brave you could try carefully disassembling the end of that battery and seeing if there's enough wiring there to solder a Deans on to - you can see the black and red wires under the connector there. That could get a bit scorchy, so the alternative is to buy any regular non-AEP lipo that will fit in the space and use that instead. You'd be surprised what you can get in there, I'm running a 1200mAh 7.4v in my "1911", granted with some modification (cutting a hole in the front of the frame under the barrel).
  3. Wouldn't be the first time. Mid Century History Enthusiasts are drawn to this hobby, and I've expressed concerns a few times about the "Calm down, it's just dreᛋᛋ up, lol" sorts. If the organisers are OK with what went on, I'd prefer that they say so clearly so that folk know what to expect.
  4. Hello, welcome, and thank you for kindly allowing me to decide whether I prefer airsoft or paintball, it's very gracious of you. I'm almost certain that you won't start spamming links to a "blog" that's a thinly veiled affiliate ad-serving site. Sure of it.
  5. You'd generally run 0.4g+ in a sniper, but you should be able to turn the hop down to accommodate anything. From what I'm seeing, it has two grub screws to adjust the hop, under the mag - are you adjusting both, and have you tried going all the way in both directions?
  6. ... a politician being asked to define a woman.
  7. There is no more noble cause. I'd call it a win and move on, airsoft is more of an art than a science.
  8. Is there a reason why you want more than 25rps? I mean, it's fun to go brrrt, but it's of fairly limited practical use in airsoft (unless your intention is to make a viral video that impresses Sklyaar on Reddit, but makes everyone else shake their heads sadly).
  9. Out of interest, how much shooting are you intending to do? I ask because even when I've run a pistol primary in CQB I've always ended up having green gas cans sort of spontaneously form in my gear bag faster than I can get through them. And even though I'm the meanest of lickpennies, I've never even considered the cost, at least next to all the other junk that we buy then barely use.
  10. Yup, one of the very few pieces of actually worthwhile content I've seen in a Failbook group is an RC guy measuring the internal resistance of a bunch of batteries sold for airsoft versus some sold for RC use - all of the airsoft packs had much higher resistance, even freshly unpacked. It seems that they've found a ready market for QC fails and Friday Cells, because "they all do that, mate".
  11. Might be dependent on our definitions of very very cheap. To me, £70 delivered for an Army Armament R17 (£75 at bbGnuz4lez, wait 24 hours, get offered a 7% discount) is "how bad can it be?" territory (surprisingly OK, as it turns out). Knocking on double that for an unknown OEM, rebranded twice, I'd want to see more than unboxing gushing or two-mag raves on InstaBook.
  12. Heck, no, I'm always laughing at how much people pay for reel steal optics to put on toys that sling tiny bits of plastic with less consistency than the cheapest AliExpress red dot can provide. Well, two kinds of people would say that. People who aren't shilling for Vorsk, and people who are shilling for Vorsk. I don't think you are, but I do agree with the sentiment that you've already decided to buy it and are looking for validation. It's very common. So I hereby validate, bless and anoint thee, do as thou wilt. Just please do let us know how it turns out either way, since - as you correctly say - first hand experience is invaluable. Or if you're determined to buy it just to see how bad it can be, well, I do that all the time, so double blessings on that.
  13. Ahoy and welcome. You may need to interact a bit more before you get access, but we do indeed have classifieds sections here: For looking: https://airsoft-forums.uk/classifieds/category/4-electric-rifles/ For asking: https://airsoft-forums.uk/classifieds/category/17-guns-wanted/ It's worth asking around at your local site(s) as well, as then you'll get to try them out before buying. Just don't get over excited and bite someone's hand off based on what they say they paid for it, check against retail prices (and availability) first. Do you have anything specific in mind, and what would you want it to do differently to the Cybergun that you (presumably) already have?
  14. It's the same price as a basic non-tacticool TM Hi-Capa, and £25 more than an Army Armament R501. I'd actually encourage you to go ahead and get one, because your error will be our data point.
  15. Do we know if there's case law on that? A quick search on BAILII didn't turn up anything, although annoyingly it "helpfully" returns result for "inclusive" when you ask for "inclusion". All of the relevant cases seem to be about blank firers that have been deliberately modified, I can't see anything about one that incidentally vents some gas forwards - although it's entirely possible that no such case has ever reached a court of record. I'm not doubting that's the interpretation being applied by police and prosecution services, I hasten to add, just wondering if it's ever been robustly defended and tested.
  16. Unlikely if they're a sub-brand of Nuprol.
  17. Do we know the OEM / branding chain with "Vorsk"? I'm wondering if they come from the same toy factory as "Raven" single-use guns.
  18. On a strict reading, it looks like can vent gases to the front, as long as the barrel is fully blocked. If the barrel isn't blocked, it has to vent upwards. Or, curiously, be a revolver, which appears to be just fine to Alec Baldwin someone with. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2011/1754/regulation/3/made Specifications for imitation firearms 3.—(1) Blank-firing imitation firearms, other than those described in paragraph (2), shall conform to the specifications set out in regulation 4. (2) The blank-firing imitation firearms described in this paragraph are— (a) imitation revolvers; and (b) imitation firearms where the blank cartridges are loaded vertically at 90 degrees to the dummy barrel and which fire, and vent the gases produced on discharge, in the same direction. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2011/1754/regulation/4/made Specifications for imitation firearms 4. The specifications referred to in regulation 3(1) are that— (a) an imitation firearm must incorporate an inclusion; (b) the inclusion must be wholly made of a material which is at least as resistant to being cut, drilled, bored, ground (or any similar process) as sintered tungsten carbide in the range 1550-2000 HV 30(1); (c) the inclusion must wholly block the barrel and should be permanent and incapable of being knocked out without destroying the chamber or barrel; (d) part of the inclusion must be incorporated into the rear of the dummy barrel; and (e) the inclusion must be intended to prevent— (i) the creation of a hole through the dummy barrel along its axis; and (ii) the removal of a dummy barrel, unless the frame and chamber area of the firearm is rendered useless as a result or its integrity so compromised that it cannot be used to form the basis of a firearm without significant repair or addition. None of which is really relevant to the "Section 5" seizures of those spicy bois, or to airsoft. If I were a betting borg, I'd lay a small amount on an accumulator that they were: found by the bedside; loaded with rubber balls; and something about "legal home defence" was mumbled. Disavow, disavow.
  19. I saw a post in Failbook a couple of months back from someone claiming to be a Parcel Farce employee saying that they were going to start cracking down on anything vaguely gun shaped, up to and including refusing to carry "low powered air weapons", i.e. airsoft, within the UK. They didn't mention blank firers or other replicas as far as I can recall. Caveated with it being pure anecdote, unverified, and it doesn't match their published T&Cs. But it is possible that they're now accepting things at the counter which are then triggering alarms when they're in the network.
  20. I had a quick word with him and he said "Speak to a real live solicitor, now". Well, maybe tomorrow. @Tommikkahas covered everything I know and more: and paintballers are likely to be more helpful here. Personally, I can't see how they'd be Section 5s rather than air guns (which as m'lurned colleague has said need a licence in Scotland). Either way, this has got nothing to do with airsoft, and the 2.5J limit. But we've seen examples of Plod mis-charging when they see something vaguely assault-toy related, including changing the charges later when they realise that they've screwed up. Because of course, they were never wrong to swoop and seize, they just need to figure out what you're guilty of. Wild guess, but did they happen to find some rubber balls with the T4Es?
