I don't think it's super secret that you make a slam-fire shotgun from two toobs and a nail. It would be interesting to see the process of making something that's not that.
I do too. But does that mean that well under 10% (and maybe down to 4%) of the energy from the battery is actually making it out the muzzle?
Please check my working:
7.4V x 1.3 Ah x 3600 (seconds in an hour) = 34,682J
If you get 1,300J out of the muzzle (1,300 shots at about 1J per BB), where's the rest of the energy going?
Am I off by an order of magnitude? Have I carried the derp?
Pfft, Reddit. Simple UK Light? You're fine, and if you magdumped at any UK site you'd hit a dozen folk running Baofengs on PMR frequencies without a loicence.
And while I wouldn't advocate that, I wouldn't not advocate it either. The consideration is that if you don't know what you're doing, then sticking to PMR frequencies means that you won't interfere with anyone who actually matters. It's not like the wild day of CB with folk running Thunderpole masts tall enough to be an air traffic hazard trying to yell at each other from half way across the country.
I have actually "asked"[*] them to stop spamming this tosh here, noting that they'll never get any business from it, on the basis that it can't make it any worse.
[*] Being as polite as their conduct deserves.
I assume it's a fishing expedition to see if:
1) The forum allows and then doesn't delete it sharpish (ruh roh)
2) Any gangsta geezas are daft enough to bite on that bait.
Bad news either way, if the steely eye of the State is turning towards our toys. I've used the contact form to flag it.
Oh, I know that it's a common bodge, but it's the wrong bodge (unless your intent is to sacrifice batteries rather than fitting a more appropriate motor / gearing / spring). I'm literally shakening to see a tech suggest it.
Well, that, but as above, it's not your problem to figure it out. Don't let them fob you off, or start billing you for anything, including postage. If necessary you can reject it and claim your money back.
Sorry to hear that.
While I appreciate the detailed and generally reasonably TOS, this is a red flag:
"HIGH STRESS BUILDS
Use of battery that exceeds 11.1v or 3500mAh or 50c Maximum Discharge."
Yeah, no.
Losers complain about fairness. Winners rent a prom queen with the money they make from their channels (or something similar).
Why on earth would I do that?
If it's a bolt action rifle with a minimum engagement distance, I'd just call it a sniper for simplicity. People seeing "DMR" will assume it's a semi auto.
