  1. So a retailer had me over on a Nikko Stirling Mountmaster scope. Was told it was back ordered till about October despite being told 14 days on ordering. Asked for my money back, I just picked up a heavily used Phillipino Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5-10x50 for a little over 50 quid. The air rifle forums seem to like them so hoping for good things on my SRS.
  2. Change the barrel to a tight bore 6.01mm to get some more free FPS which doesn't strain the gearbox. Change bucking to a Prommy Purple and a large nub to lift heavier bbs. See how it performs after that.
  3. Why did you start airsoft? Always been interested in FPS gaming, came across gameplay footage of an LMG users on YouTube whilst at work. Looked into it further and booked in my first game a couple of months later. What do you like about airsoft? Collecting comes first, I like the weird and wonderful. A close second is visiting lots of different sites, I like to get a breadth of knowledge about hobbies. To be that "unique" guy is a narcissistic trait I haven't been able to shake. What don't you like about airsoft? This kind of sounds bad, but Airsofters in general. There is alot of cringworthy aspects to airsofters which just turn me away. The Glamsofters being one. Also due to the nature of the sport you tend to get a few gun toting crazies who are just a little bit too intense to probably be playing. As a musician I have a similar problem, the biggest issue with playing in a band is having to play with other musicians. Massive egos colliding trying to hash out a result that no one is particularly happy about. Do you think airsoft has any health benefits? I look it at it like football, for general fitness on paper it looks great, but the risk of injury is quite large and you'll likely do yourself more long term damage playing the sport then not.
  4. In my opinion? No. It needs either a new receiver or rear sight block. As one of the two has been miss drilled.
  5. Lots of movement on my package. In the last 24 hours it cleared Poland, into Germany and straight back out to Stanford-le-hope. I now have these two messages with "Awaiting clearance" as the heading. To me it appears the messages are out of sequence. Otherwise, is the clearance agency different to customs agency? In Transit 18/03/2021 14:21 Stanford Le Hope, United Kingdom Your package may be delayed due to a required document inspection by the clearing agency. 18/03/2021 14:21 - Your parcel was released by the customs agency.
  6. It's a good question. I am unsure myself. I want an AMD-65, but wondering if just going with the Golden Eagle for £125 rather then the LCT for 309 is a better bet.
  7. I got my refund. So I'll be looking into getting another AK soon
  8. I did get most of the stuff I wanted in before Jan. However when gunfire is the only place on the planet that genuinely has sets of 5 PPS Shell Ejecting Gas Shells at a reasonable price, I had no choice and ordered knowing of the UPS issues. Edit: I can either get 2 shells for £13 not including postage in the UK. Or (At the time of purchase) Or 5 shells for just over £18 taking into account import fees from Gunfire. It's a no brainer.
  9. I rang UPS and asked if they accepted my fire arms declaration. All they could say is that they have received it, but has yet to clear customs. (Whether it is accepted is a different matter, it's been a week since I sent my Declaration back) Also asked if I'll get an Email from customs to pay the charge, they seemed to think I would pay on arrival. So slightly worried.
  10. I have always wanted one of them! Only reason why is that there is no chance of using it in a milsim. Though I do keep an eye out! Something about that gloryhole handguard. To me the AMD is the pinnacle of AK looks. Apart from a tarted up Zenitco 74n anyway. We'll see what the shop says tomorrow.
  11. Sadly the gearbox was perfectly shimmed and the underfolder mechanism was very very solid and stiff. It is a great AK if only it weren't pissed in multiple directions! I might just give in and either go for an AMD65 and hope for the best or just get an AR 😕
  12. I think at this point I'd rather cut my losses and return it. I understand that AK alignment is very funky. But its worse then most I have seen. To the point that its not really workable. 😕 such a shame as I got it for a great price.
  13. Dot mounted to the upper rail. Its an underfolder so no side rail. If there was I would be even more out! Its off the because the front gas tube bracket does not line up with the rear sight. Because of this its actually an absoloute nightmare to lock the handguard in because of the angle.
  14. You're seeing exactly I see. Its very much to the left. Yet looking at the rear sight mount the outer barrel is mounted straight. Which means either the reciever or the rear sight is mounted on wrong. I would just barely let it slide if my E&Ls were bad. But this is far worse. Combined with not being able to adjust my optics enough to shoot straight, its not on imo.
  15. Just got this TKMS. Really looking forward to it. Bought all the upgrade bits I would put in it as well as order the Wood kit from Asia. Go to line up the sights and I got this. It appears that the Top Cover/Receiver is completely misaligned with the Rear sight/trunnion. The Gas block frame is also misaligned with the rear and front sight, which means the front rail is also not aligned with the sights. My guess is that the Receiver and Rear sight block holes for the rivets were not drilled/punched in the correct place at the factory. Without a new receiver and Rear sight block, its impossible to know which. I own many AK’s and whilst many have characterful Rear and Front sight alignment; this is the first time I have seen the rear sight block and receiver pointing in completely the wrong direction. I have requested a return under Distance Selling Regs. Hopefully I wont have any issues.
  16. How are you filling the mag? How cold is it where you are? What gas are you using? Have you lubed the slide at all? How much of a pause are you leaving between each shot?
  17. Have you put the batteries for the laser in the Pistol grip?
  18. Take the spring out and coat it in some sort of grease to prevent the twangy sound. Unfortunately the stock E&L Spring for UK spec rifles are incredibly short and can cause this. As for the noise, it's likely shimming/motor height. Loosen the pistol grip initially and see if the sound is any different. The stock motor is Neo and really very good, you wont see much of an upgrade with the SHS if any.
  19. Quick Straw Poll. My New Fabarms STF12 is shooting at 250FPS on .2s with a single BB and about the same with 3bbs, Seems awfully low? .6 of a joule. Send back or is this typical for an STF12?

@Enid_Puceflange @miserydrift what FPS were yours running at?

I had one ages ago, and yes, this was the typical fps on it.

I have seen other posts in the past also mentioning the fps being lower than others.

The one I had used to do 370 on a single 0.2 but 250 when you had 3 in.

ah yeah...im sort of thinking back and im sure it had a "below 1 Joule" sticker on it. Maybe you have got one of them?

  20. So I just checked my tracking number it has now changed to awaiting payment of charges. Presumably that means my Declaration is ok? How would I go about paying the bill? I don't see an option on the website, will I get contacted with a call or Email? Cheers all!
  21. Please remove. Dumbass here posted in wrong thread.
  22. Sorry if I missed this. How were you told it had cleared? I have sent my form, do you get a confirmation that it's all ok?
  23. I was wrong. It was the black one. Not wooden! L1A1 ARES from Patrol Base - Guns, Gear & Loadouts - Airsoft Forums UK (airsoft-forums.uk)
