  1. Nah. I'll probably do french instead! I do intend to go that event!
  2. Hey all. Quick question on pistol grips and motor height adjustment. Took off the AK pistol grip to adjust the motor slightly. I also noticed the grip screw wasn't really tight from the factory but the grip was solid against the reciever. Sounded good stock. Just wanted to see if I could improve it. Tightened the motor a bit. Sounded great! Put the grip back on and tightened it up to maximum, screechy as hell. Backed off the grip screw and sounded fine as it did when stock (remember it wasnt fully tight from factory) I checked the grip screw as they can be a little too long and can force the motor height screw up, so installed the grip screw tight without the grip and the motor sounded fine. It only gets screechy with the grip installed and the grip screw fully tightened up. I suspect that the slim grip is pushing the motor up when the grip screw is fully tightened, possibly by the spade connectors which are slightly wider then the motor. Anyone else have this problem before? Maybe I need to dremel the inside of the bottom of the pistol grip a bit where the motor would be? Maybe I should just leave the grip screw not tightened up all the way like I recieved from factory? Please note, it is NOT the grip screw being too long, I have already ruled it out.
  3. They only had one in stock of each AK. Just picked mine up. Its lovely! I would have preferred a full stock as well, but happy enough with the frame. Will probably change to a wood handguard!
  4. E&L ELAK 702. AK with PMC stock. £215 from Wolf Armouries in London is a real bargain. https://wolfarmouries.co.uk/browse-products/airsoft-guns/rifles/e-l-elak702-custom-airsoft-aeg-platinum.html Only one in stock so grab it whilst you can! I grabbed the Side folding AKS74 myself!
  5. Bout time I get a proper AK! Wolf Armouries knocked this E&L out for £220. They have the PMC one for only £215 as well which is an absolute bargain for E&L spec.
  6. Annoyed about how the ZCI and SHS motors are just not quite short enough for most short motor direct replacements.

Learnt how to do my first pinion gear removal to lengthen the flattish part of the pinion and reinstall gear to be shorter. Wasnt too hard though it's difficult to not cut into the pinion too much when flattening out a new section.

Now my M249 actually sounds reasonable!

So you extended the flat lower down the shaft then cut off the top extruding part?

@EDcase Yes. I cut off the extruding part to prevent the small possibility of it fouling on the cutoff lever.

Ah, airsoft "standards. I guess it's fortunate that you had to (and could) shorten it, rather than having the opposite problem.

  7. The new German Tropentarn Loadout. G36 specific Mag pouches, AG36 equipped G36E. Its a fairly heavyweight loadout, but I used it for most of the day without issue.
  8. Another pair of Tropentarn trousers after ripping my brand new slightly too small pair in the crotch area with my sword like appendage. Gonna turn the old ones into a pair of shorts with a gusset to prevent it happening again.
  9. The Chub is better made then I was expecting, no moulding lines, seems pretty clean and even. It works all the way up to 8 before jamming (This is the taller version) This could be an option for the more discerning gentlemen such as myself. https://www.skirmshop.nl/en/srs-hopup-barrel-alignement-tool.html But it might just confirm the Fast Hop was off spec... Which requires another £30!
  10. The inner and the outer do seem a bit amiss when putting together. Sadly it didn't seem to make much difference how they were aligned. I did have standard Nub and 60 degree, but it wouldn't hop at the end of the travel as it should have. Hence why I changed. At least I am getting hop now! I am quite impressed with the Chub so far in terms of its lifting capabilities.
  11. Hey all. Against advice I went ahead with the Chub Nub and 70 degree bucking as it's relatively cheap and nearby. I installed them both, I can now lift .48s properly so they rise at the end of max range, which is pretty good! However I still cant get the nub inline with the bb feed on the hop unit. If I straighten up the hop unit to the top of the barrel, the nub seems pinched to the left/off centre and the bbs curve to the left, if I move the barrel in relation to the nub then the bb feed is not straight with the top of the hop unit. It's almost as if the bottom of the fast unit does not align with the top of the unit. Slight miss drill. Anyone have issues with that? It's too windy to get a proper test, though I get the feeling it is still firing to the left despite aligning it best I could. Please see slightly exaggerated diagram.
  12. I asked him about an SRC M9 that was turned into a PAMAS which came out to about $334 not shipped (Which I am still oohing and ahhing over to complete my French loadout) I think much of it depends on the amount of work required, whether its a plastic or metal pistol, base cost of the pistol and in the PAMAS case aquiring the PAMAS Grips (Which are rarely for sale). The Pamas has some pretty basic engraving compared to some of the others he has posted hence its on the cheaper side. He is certainly amazing at what he does though and I doubt you'd get anyone else to be able to do it from a legal and technical aspect. His website is well worth a gander. https://customgbb.blogspot.com/
  13. Hey all. Had my first skirmish with mine, Fast Hop, M150 etc. Had lots of problems with the outer barrel shifting forward until Really tightened the screws on the side. The Hop unit wheel keeps moving down the more I use it. What should I do with the O-Ring underneath the wheel to prevent this from happening? BBs floating off to the left slightly and I feel that I cant hop .48s as much as I'd like. Effective range is 75 metres and 85 max, so going to purchase a new nub. Looking at the Longbow Chub Nub to get me extra lift. Anyone got any opinions on it?

  15. 5x G&P 130rd G36 midcaps. 1x FPS Ergal M249 Nozzle
  16. That is gorgeous! Very striking.
  17. I put a shim of rubber around the connecting to the arm part of the nub which has increased pressure so i can have the same amount of hop at around 4-5, however it doesn't hop any more then it did previously. Turn the hop up more and it just jams. Any ideas? I guess its slightly disappointing considering my upgraded VSR can go beyond that and rises at the end of the trajectory. I guess I am looking for a flight path where when the bb slows down it rises at the end of the travel. Where at the moment with the SRS it just falls from its initial trajectory.
  18. Cheers for the advice! I just had my first range test. I have to rack up the Fast hop with stock rubber to the max (8 or 9) to lift a .48 to around 100 Google metres. Does that sound about right? I have seen many people saying they only have to put it to 4 to lift, but thats with aftermarket rubber and nubs.
  19. Just sorted it myself! Put PFTE tape around the bucking (Accidently ripped the nub so used the spare bucking that came with the SRS). Removed all the Original white grease and applied 100% silicon oil on everything that sealed. Put it all back together and its now firing 316 FPS on .48's which is the equivalent to roughly 489 FPS on .2's. with a 2 FPS variance. So pretty happy! Just need to test the hop to see if it lifts with the changed hop rubber and I should be done!
  20. Hello all. Just recieved my SRS 16" Covert. I installed the Fast Hop and Srs M150 spring. It's coming out at 292fps on .48s. Is this about right? Someone mentioned on the facebook group it's a little on the low side. If that's the case. Any tricks to up it a little bit?
  21. Its here its here! Brand new SRS 16" Covert. Installed the fast hop and the 150% SRS spring and is currently at 449 FPS or 292 FPS on .48's. Not sure if thats normal or a little low, but pretty happy with this anyway! Its very solidly built.
  22. Honestly, it was half a lifetime ago. I couldn't possibly remember where it was. 😕

  24. To be fair the bar was owned by Sicilians, and I like pineapple on a pizza. So what do I know! I ate 3 pizzas when I was in Italy, Florence, Signa and Pisa. I wasn't particularly impressed with any of them and I went out of my way for the "Locals" establishments. Though the Mortadella in Signa was out of the this world and one of the few things I miss now I no longer eat pork. I stand by my comments on Maltese wine though. Excellent, though they struggle to make enough of it to keep in stock on the island, let alone export it. I have never been able to find a Maltese wine in the UK.
