Site Name: Tilmanstone Works Contact details: N/A Website Address: (1) The Heresy Group - YouTube Facebook Page: The Heresy Group | Facebook Site Address: Tilmanstone Works Pike Rd, Eythorne, Dover, CT15 4ND A slightly different one this time around! I heard about The Heresy Groups "Ruckus 2.0" from a friend. THG hire out places that are not used as Airsoft sites on a regular basis, which introduces some interesting places. Coming into the Airsoft scene too late to enjoy UCAP Sandpit, I was quite eager to check out a full blown Quarry. The closest thing myself and @Albiscuithave played at being Imperium which has some Quarry sections. Tilmanstone Works is a largish outdoor site, most of which is an active Quarry, interspersed by Quarry hardware (Stone blocks, shipping containers, rusted out vehicles. There is plenty of elevation as well as a small valley of woodland vegetation. There are some very open areas, but there are always sections you can move through with more cover. The elevation itself can be used as cover. There are sections for short, medium and long distance engagements. So myself Albiscuit and 4 others decided to make our way on a sunny if windy day on 25/05/2021. Good: Playing Area: Very very good. We had reservations about the site being too open and somewhat boring, but were completely unfounded. An active quarry is both somewhat bleak, exposed and interesting at the same time. As mentioned in the intro, there is lots of elevation that can be used to both expose the opposing team, but also hide behind. There are lots of ditches, some woodland outcrops, concrete barriers, shipping containers and vehicles to hide behind. But in some areas it's open warfare with expanses of flat ground. If you are relatively fit, you can take advantage of the more esoteric approaches which can be ankle breaking if you're not careful, but can be utterly rewarding. Clientele: There was a large turnout, no problems with the clientele, heard very little to no grumbling throughout the day. A sense of comradery and people who were just happy to play something as unique as this place . Hit taking: Was very good. No complaints heard. Turn around time: There was little in the way of breaks. There were 4 different games and lunch. We didn't feel short changed. Marshalling: Very good, plenty of people around who encouraged people to get back out there from the spawn points. Safety Brief: Perfectly fine, covered everything, they had a physical representation of the blast radius of pyro which was helpful. There were no noobies for the day, so it was tailored towards experienced players. Chrono: Everyone's primaries were chronoed at the beginning of the day. 370 FPS for AEGs, 450 FPS for DMR and 500 FPS for BAR's. The players own BB weight for the day was used and rifles tagged. Value: £30, for something as unique as it is, I felt it was good value. Car Park/Entrance: Directions were easy to follow. The gates shut at 9:30, and there was a reception at the gate to take the money and sign in. The Car Park was based inside earth mounds with an auxiliary car park just outside that was more open to the elements. Shop: Multiple shops were on site including CamoRaids, Valkyrie BB's and a night vision for hire stand (Despite it not being a night game), it's more for promotion purposes. Raffle: Everyone likes a raffle, there was a free one for everyone as part of your entry fee. Two of the six of us even managed to win! Average: Game Modes/Brief: Not the typical attack and defend. There was a capture the flag game and a VIP game. There was a free for all at the end of the day, stages with the winners moving into the finals. It would have been good to know that we needed mobile phones to take photos of the VIP with other players on your team before we went out to the spawn point. I felt this sort of game is better suited to CQB sites like the Mall rather then something at an outdoor quarry. Bad: Safe Zone: It's not a true site, so there is no cover and everyone sets up from their cars. Toilets: No on-site facilities; was recommended to bring Wet Wipes ahead of time. Food: No food on-site; was recommended to bring our own ahead of time. COVID awareness: I didn't hear much if anything mentioned about social distancing or COVID awareness. There was no mask wearing in the safe zone. Also there was no pre-booking, so no control over numbers that could show up. Conclusion: We loved the day. We were very surprised in how good the playing area was and was utterly refreshing to play at over the usual outdoor site. We wish this was a proper full blown regular site and may be one we visit often despite the distance. We heard one guy had travelled all the way from Lincolnshire to play! A word of warning, you wont be washing your clothes after the day as much as beating them with a broom to get the dust out! We cant wait for Ruckus 3.0 and hope it will align with our schedules! What would be a great addition would be working Technical/Vehicles, if this could happen it would be amazing. The Heresy Group have run a very successful day despite the high winds and can be proud of themselves from that perspective. Very little has to improve if this continues to be a once in a while skirmish. Though having a pre-booking system in times of Covid would make me feel much better for turning up. Bullpup Watch: Very few; an SVU... I don't remember much else. Very little variance from M4 styles. Best Guess Map:

It already is. I told you about it the other day!
-
My fault to be honest. I Widened the cylinder head holes to fit the gearbox and I guess I drilled in the wrong place resulting in this! Still, it is worth 50 quid for the externals alone! Looking at going for a Lonex gearbox replacement.
-
Well I put "GBBR/Next Gen" in the title; Next gen meaning the EBB.

After some testing... Welp.

Picked up this G&P Magpul M4 with a locked up gearbox/trigger and missing stock and stock tube. Snagged it for 50 quid! Completely stock but with Magpul receiver, Pistol grip, handguard and foregrip. Do you guys think it's Foliage Green or Olive Drab? I am thinking the former myself. Cracked it open, seems that the cocking lever spring has been overstretched so the bolt cover won't spring back as it should. The selector plate was broken in half. One of the gearbox shell screws was overtightened and I had to drill it out. In the gearbox I found the spur gear shaft completely sheared off and the motor pinion well worn. Replaced the spur gear, Air seal was OK, but I switched out the full cylinder for a 4/5ths as well as a new piston and cylinder head (which had to be modified to fit the gearbox protrusions) Seems to be working OK if a little bit tight sounding. Going to grab some parts from AK2M4 to get her really purring, as well as a stock tube and stock. The intention is to have a full set of M4A1 and Magpul furniture to switch between. Parts list to purchase: 22TPA Neo motor 13:1 Gearset V2 Selector plate Replacement screws/springs AOLS 363mm Barrel Guarder Clear hop rubber AR Latch ZCI CNC steel Stock tube Magpul PTS MOE Stock M4A1 Stock Parts acquired: Perun Mosfet Tokyo Marui M4A1 Kac style Handguard.

So I made a huge mistake. It was the customs fee from an order I made at WGC a week ago. So still have no idea what's happening with the GF order! -

5x PPS shells cost 16 quid from Gunfire. 2x PPS shells cost £14 here. So 20 shells cost 64 quid from Poland or 140 quid in the UK. I understand things are more expensive here. But frankly we are price gouged in this country for many things. And considering many UK airsoft shops buy from the EU for stock. Why shouldn't I? Even before we left the EU, whenever I purchased abroad I was aware I would likely not send anything back. Everything gets upgraded anyway. -

Finally got a customs payment email. 62 quid on a 145 quid order... That's more like 43% of the value... Ridiculous. Lets hope I actually see the item in the next week. Coming up to 2 months next week. -
You have purchased a lipo/life charger, but you're trying to charge a NimH battery on it. I have my doubts the battery will charge on it because the charger will require a balance cable plugged in with NimHs don't use. Personally I recommend sending both back where you got them from and purchase a decent smart charger which can charge both lipos and NimH and a Lipo battery rather then NimH. That is a very poor charger and NimH is old tech.

Se Tour Review: Ucap Greenops (Hampshire)

I didn't see that. Shows how rusty I am with the enforced break! Have updated the original post! -
Finally got around to putting up a new SE Tour article. UCAP Greenops. Se Tour Review: Ucap Greenops (Hampshire) - Skirmish Sites, Stories & Reviews - Airsoft Forums UK (airsoft-forums.uk)

Site Name: UCAP Greenops Contact detailss: 07590 818881 Website Address: GreenOps Liphook (ucap.co.uk) Facebook Page: UCAP Airsoft | Facebook Site Address: 1 New Lodge, Hollycombe, Liphook GU30 7LP Welcoming in the 2021 "Season" of SE Tour reviews, we started at UCAP Greenops on 18/04/2021 The only UCAP site within the SE Tour brief. UCAP needs no introduction in the world of airsoft events. Running four different sites that are quite different to the standard Airsoft Fayre. Greenops is their only pure woodland site. This site was about the limit to our arbitrary travel time limits taking an hour and a half to get to @Albiscuitand a further hour and half to the site. Greenops is the lesser talked about, but well reviewed site in the UCAP roster, it is a small woodland site situated on a slight slope. There is a mix of clear areas and very thick foliage. Multiple structures and earthworks dotted around the site. Unusually it is very sandy underfoot. Short to medium engagement distance. Good: Playing Area: This was the best part of the days experience. A small woodland site, but has lots of manmade props, including a two story church, FOB, airplane fuselages and assorted huts. The bushes are very thick with branches and can be difficult to traverse unless determined so most are forced down the cleared/recognised paths. Even though the site is small, running games in different directions keeps it fresh for at least the day we played. Clientele: There was a limit of around 50-60 players due to COVID. Mostly experienced players with only a couple of people who had never played before. Everyone was quite friendly in the safe zone, maybe a little "too" friendly considering the pandemic. There was very little griping during the day, people just happy to play. Hit taking: Was pretty good all day long. I only heard a couple of minor complaints. Turn around time: There was the intention of having back to back games until lunch, however despite being warned, players didn't bring enough ammo, so there were more breaks then wanted. This is not the marshal's fault as they would have been happier to stay out playing. Otherwise the turn around to time was good and the marshals kept putting on games until people were too tired to carry on past 4:40pm. Average: Marshalling: Due to the small site size and good amount of marshals, you could find one pretty quickly. They were pretty hands off and relaxed. Safety Brief: It started off mentioning that it wont be as long a "Mall" briefing, but ended up being much longer and without the wit of Luke. It was long, but covered everything you needed to know. Game Modes: Were fairly basic, mostly defend/attack and fetch quest games. It worked quite well and probably takes the small size of the site into account, however it would have been nice to see a fall back game that utilised the entire site. Value: £25 not bad for what you get in terms of a playing area. Car Park/Entrance: Well sign posted, long and bumpy dirt road up to the two car parks. The second car park had only just been created, however was not quite big enough as cars were penned in and had to wait for others to move to get out. Safe Zone: During lockdown this was expanded along with the car park. It's a wooden structure which is predominantly under cover. Much like the car park, it's not big enough to support the numbers that arrived. However due to COVID, everyone set up in the Car Park anyway. Toilets: A portaloo, but we didn't see it, or use it, so can't really judge this either way. Bad: Chrono: Everyone's primaries were chronoed at the beginning of the day as you walk into the safety brief and first game. None of the guns were marked, you only had the opportunity to chrono one rifle which is the one you bring to the first game. Any other rifles you used in subsequent games were not checked. In the safety brief they justified it by saying people remove tags and put it on other rifles or change the spring on the sly. If they caught anyone with a hot gun, it's an immediate dismissal, however I didn't see any chrono checks after the initial one in the morning. I really don't agree with the site view on this. FPS limits are 350 for AEGs, 420 for DMRs and 500 for BASR. Gas pistols were not checked and you chrono using your bb weight. Shop: We didn't see any shop on site. The website states they sell the essentials so it's unlikely they would sell anything beyond gas and bbs. Food: We didn't see any at the time. apart from a tea urn. According to the website they only sell snacks (Though due to COVID they might not have sold anything). So bring your own lunch. COVID awareness: I didn't hear much if anything mentioned about social distancing or COVID awareness. Other sites have enacted social distancing and enforced the use of fabric masks in the safe zone. I didn't see any of this at Greenops. Wall of BBs: The amount of full auto and trigger spam got worse throughout the day, people were just hammering bushes hoping to get a kill. I'd like to see semi auto only on AEG's during the day. Conclusion: Despite the somewhat average review, we did enjoy our time at Greenops. The playing area was rather unique for a woodland setting in that it could be classed as CQB in many areas. It reminds me of certain parts of Red 1 Chislehurst but with more variation. The size of the site was small, but we were knackered come the end of the day due to the long walks back to respawn, we think having a moveable spawn point that follows the action will improve the skirmishes and participation. It would be interesting to see what happens to the playing area in the future and if they can actually fit anymore stuff into a small footprint such that it is. But it's mostly the ancillary things that needs improvement, safe zone, parking, food, shop etc. If you are looking for CQB, but out in the lovely Hampshire sunshine, Greenops will probably tick your boxes! Bullpup Watch: Only one, and that was the SOC-AR of mine. Best Guess Map:

SE Tour Review: AWA Herts (Hertfordshire)
Asomodai replied to Asomodai's topic in Skirmish Sites, Stories & Reviews
I have been back since this review. Not much has changed though they have started using different areas of the site. It is slowly getting better, COVID pending. -
It might be happening. Or its just a Boy version. 😉 Looks like they are releasing another updated Glock as well.

Day 46. No sign of it :-(. Still in customs I think. -
The most efficient build with usable ROF would be a 22tpa high torque neo motor (I believe the existing motor is ferrite) with the stock 18:1s. If you short stroke it, the recoil will be less due to the system used. Put a small precocking mosfet in and it should be quite usable. I am going to be in a worse position then you though as I am putting a Kac style rail on the front with the bottom missing to allow the XM26 fitment. Which means I have to cable tie a small nunchuck into the top of the handguard. Not keen on a PEQ box. Rof is already quite slow and I wouldn't try to increase it that much anyway due to the recoil system. The 22TPA may make it slightly faster then stock if anything. Tbh the best mod would be changing to a sopmod stock. But I want to keep the Socom for the Terminator Salvation loadout.
-
I had been looking at the same BAWs from Bespoke ever since they reduced them before Christmas. Decided to bite the bullet and grab one. Gonna replace the motor with one with more torque so I can use 7.4vs. Xm26 will be going on this as well as a rail system and longer barrel. For the Terminator Salvation look!

More sizing woes: Got my Russian Sniper suit and Black Moss suit through! They sent the wrong size sniper suit. Its a 58/60 when I asked for 56/58. Even wearing a belt up around my belly button isn't enough!
Seller has asked me to look at someone who can do alterations here... I doubt anyone would take it on considering the rear of the trousers are made of mesh with string vest material sewn into it...
I'll probably end up sending it back to Russia 😞

My TM Mk23 is being very finicky with hop. I will set the hop and it will lift .48s fine. 30 minutes later I'll test fire and the hop is non existent (I need to loosen off the screws as it is over hopping to the point it doesn't hop) Parts list. Twin screw hadron TDC Hadron H Arm Plate Maple Leaf Autobot 50 degree Maple Leaf CJ 133mm Inner barrel Normal green gas. Someone on the forums suggested I file down the tab on the inside of the hop unit for the barrel to sit right, however my barrel has the correct cuts. Someone else also suggested using a 60 degree ML rubber, but I am unsure of that as I haven't heard this problem from other people. Any idea why this may be happening as the hop shouldn't be changing with the TDC mods? I am constantly having to readjust whether on the same mag or switching mags. Cheers!

I wanted to shrink it a little bit, so turned it inside out and washed it at 10 degrees hotter then I should have. Sadly it didnt shrink, but even inside out, it faded where as my jacket is still full colour. The Predators I have ordered are the same size, but has a higher waist, so hopefully will fit better. They sold their last Large this morning so had to plump for XL. My waist is right on the cusp of the two sizes. I have given up on the dye idea and sold the Revenger Trousers to a fellow forumite -
