You are absolutely right of course. If ever there was a useful selling point for UKAPU or similar, this would be it. For a very low outlay, they could take out a licence, and then advertise the ability for their members to use the frequencies assigned to them....

Albeit, I confess to never having heard of anyone successfully prosecuted for using a Baofeng on PMR446 frequencies - that's not to say that it hasn't happened.

Probably because 5w in the woods isn't effecting anyone but as a licensed ham radio licence holder I understand why these things should be regulated

This Thread might be handy for you:

Many good options, cheap (but good) baofengs can be had for under £15 - on the likes of aliexpress - e.g. the venerable UV5R, or the newer UV13 pro - just make sure that you take the time to programme them to frequencies that aren't going to annoy people (i.e. PMR446).

You can't use a UV5R on PMR 446 frequencies legally because the UV5R puts out 5w which is over the mikitnfor someone without a licence

Get UV-5R's and a business license from OFCOM and use the designated frequencies they assign the licence to cover your arse, it's like £75 for 5 years and you can have unlimited people under it

I'm just along the coast from him in greatstone, keep thinking I'll get a decent spotting scope or bigger, but with all the little rubber boats I'd probably end up a snitch for ukba, screaming down the phone "WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CANT CALL AN AIRSTRIKE ON THEM, WHAT ABOUT ARTILLERY ?" 🤨

Ah they are actually in Dymchurch so much closer!

I'm not, but I used to work with a couple of guys that are, every teabreak they'd be staring at the sky.

    BUT

I live right by the beach, so light pollution isn't too bad, & if I'm out with the dogs just before bed I find myself staring up at the night sky looking for faint satellites or the flashes when they rotate, anyone know is there a tracking app for them ?

My father in law lives by folkstone beach so he is always on the ship tracking app seeing where certain ships have been and are heading too

GDPR requires information held to be used for the purposes for which that information was collected

Using the GDPR as an excuse to not confirm details could be a breach of the GDPR in itself - particularly if the subject provided their reference details to a third party on the basis that the third party may request verification

An address is personal data, the GDPR does not prevent the release of personal data - but to do so must be valid

Sorry I meant they can't just provide it but they can confirm it

  6. How the fuck is this thread 6 pages deep

From my reading it seems superwok is a quite decent person and has his head screwed on and doesn't seem the sort of person who wants a black gun to cause mischief with and the majority of his replies have been quite mature, sure he used a system no one agrees with but in the end it's the retailer who is selling guns to people under this made up system

I know we fought for the defence, being a player of 20+ years in the hobby I'm a pre vcra player and remember how our hobby was in danger of being sacked off so I understand the argument

But being someone who has bought and sold over 700 airsoft guns in my time in this hobby, I can only think of a handful of times anyone on this forum in private sales has asked me for a defence

I can guarantee I could message someone selling a gun and offer to pay up right away and won't be asked for a defence 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just seems a bit of a joke how we can be so hell bent on making sure retailers follow the rules to a T but second hand sales it's do as you like?

    Am I wrong?

That is something that's gonna make everyone in the vicinity of "WTF IS THAT" along with the mass confusion if its a player or someone playing a clip from a film lol.

Yeah, and when everyone is looking around for what the issue is, ill jump in the room and shoot everyone and run away laughing hehe
