All you are doing is transferring gas from one container to another, just like filling a lpg car
The pressure doesn't need to be regulated
Remember we are all using propane already just under different names in cheap Chinese gbb pistols we are all messing with it every day

What a load of shit. The threshold for lethality for an airsoft gun has NOT yet been defined in law, an airsoft gun shooting over 1.3J auto is not a section five firearm, it's an airsoft gun. The legal limit for an air gun (which an airsoft gun pretty much is...) at the moment is 12ft/lbs, which you cannot achieve with an airsoft gun.

Firearms law for the UK is being revamped at the moment and there has recently been a consultation which will most likely result in the 'lethality' threshold for an airsoft gun being set at 1.3J, but that's not yet happened.

A 390fps 2-tone is perfectly legal, though not within site limits for any site that I know of. If you want it to be site legal you'll need to get the spring changed.

R-Hop patches are absolutely not snake oil and this has been verified through many, many users. Because they're not a conventional bucking you get a near 100% air seal every time, but I will agree that in terms of performance they're on par with flat hops - though is this in itself an issue? R-Hop material is pretty cheap (cheaper than most buckings) and having such a perfect air seal is great for HPA consistency. The real issue is a lot of people lack the patience to fit theirs properly and have them sitting too low, which causes severe overhop and/or damages the patch as the BB only hits the leading edge rather than travelling along the whole patch as is intended.

I've flat hopped and used PDI W-Holds and Firefly buckings and can attest to the R-Hop performing better even if we're purely looking at airseals here.

Tight bores are a poor idea unless you absolutely have to squeeze FPS out of something (for example a Marui pistol). Anything else I'd go 6.05 or 6.08 like you say. Again though, I've tried all of them (that is 6.01, 6.05, 6.08) and indeed have a 6.23 ORGA in my 249, with a 6.13 on the way for my VSR. R-Hops work great with these barrels as they can provide even more hop than a flat hop ever could through lengthening the window. Makes them brilliant for sniping with heavier weights which they lift with ease.

Purely from a basic physics standpoint flat hops and R-Hops will always be better then a protruding 'nub' like W-Holds and the Firefly 'ramp' because the force is exerted over a larger area, which allows for more minor adjustments, far less wear and a more consistent backspin. You can achieve the same hop with some buckings if you do it right, but if you want the absolute best air seal (and yes I realise you can get a great air seal with anaerobic sealant and/or floss with standard bucking) and hop area then R-Hops are great and are bespoke for every barrel by the very way that they're fitted, so you can get them to perform in essentially any bore.

Hold your rifle upside-down and hit people crouching behind cover. Also, if you spin yourself around really fast and then fire, your BB will curve even more and allow you to execute a clean kill on someone standing behind you. I think they did a documentary on this effect called 'Wanted', except in that they just whip handguns around (which is going to be too cumbersome with your VSR/BAR) rather than doing pirouettes.

    Hi

As you have got a brand new and clean VSR-10 i would strongly recommend you go for Mancrafts SDiK kit rather than trying to upgrade it in its spring form.

I bought a second hand VSR-10 that had some ASPUK bits and pieces in it with a M150 spring, whilst nice i found the bolt draw (as you are fighting the spring) to cock the weapon really difficult even when it was checked, aligned and regreased. Whilst i could shoot maybe 1 round per second my hands and arm got really tired after 1 or 2 mags. I was about to get rid of it as it was too tiresome to be using such a gun until one day when i was at work i was called to a house by a neighbour to a kid who was apparently shooting BBs in his back garden, i asked to see his weapons and in his back garden he had an SVD Dragunov converted to fire on CO2 and he showed me to Mancrafts shop. On a side note the kid was damn lucky that of all the officers who attended it was me.

Anyways back on track, I have just priced up a full kit from ASPUK, this includes:
    M150 Spring @ £6.49
    Steel Spring guide @ £10.97
    Cylinder Head @ £13.97
    Cylinder @ £42.00
    Piston @ £37.22
    VSR 0 degree EZ Trigger @ £79.99
    Shipping £5.50
    TOTAL: £196.14

So basically as much as the VSR-10 itself.
On the other hand the Mancraft kit should set you back around £150, this price will include:
    Mancraft SDiK kit
    Mancraft Regulator
    Mancraft CO2 adapter
    and some spare parts

It's basically a complete set, you can reuse your stock trigger set and stock body.

Best yet the bolt draw on the SDiK is comparable to a normal RS rifle bolt draw, i compared it to a Lee Enfield SMLE Mk4 rifles bolt drawn and the SDiK i would say is less than that, you can basically cock the rifle using only two fingers.

With some cash left over you can buy a good scope and hop up chamber barrel etc.

Like others i would recommend the Action Army chamber (mine is on its way from HK).

    SHAMELESS PLUG
If you need help to install the SDiK and see it in some action watch my Youtube video on it, Proffink used it for help and Mancraft have even linked it on their website:

Its mighty impressive he didn't get shot. The speed of draw and the amazing read from the officers that he wasn't drawing to shoot is incredibly, if that had been the USA that kid would be dead with about 10 bullets in his chest. I can see why the police would kindly like the RIFs out of the country when there are idiots like this around carrying them down the highstreet.

My 2p worth since I've just finished my bar 10/ Mancraft build...
When I first got the rifle, it looked well made out the box the seat was sticking but sorted that with a file, was shooting 380-400 fps and max range was 150' with .28's as it wouldn't lift any heavier
    The build..

Start at the front, orga 6.23, r-hopped, modded bucking for r hop, hop arm modded with much longer nub, standard hop unit. Then Mancraft kit using standard trigger as the spring in the HPA unit is way lighter than standard and it actually sets up well.
Set it at 500 fps .20
Ive hopped it so with a tiny amount of hop it'll lift .40's so it'll lift much more without over hopping.
I be been getting very good tesults up to s lazered 235' had maybe 300 rounds through it now and just been out in absolute nil wind set up a white for sale sign 600mm square lit well and pushed it to 315' with 7 out of 10 hits

In short. Vsr/bar 10 with Mancraft and the right parts is possibly the very best set up one can build.

I did everything myself and it still wasn't cheap, so add labour and it's starting to get pricy.
But at the end of the day you pay for what you get.

    A pro what ?
To be a decent competitive sniper you actually need to know what you are doing. It's easy to pray and spray a full hi cap mag in someone's general direction and hit someone, when you have one shot at a time from 150' with your bb being affected by windage, hop and leaves and branches it's a whole different game.
Then there's sitting/ laying tit deep in mud and getting soaked to your pants for hours on end so you don't get spotted and lit up by 5 people and 1000'bb's
You'll need to know how to strip and fix whatever breaks too, as it will.
Then you need to be very handy with a pistol for when contact is too close or when you are about to get the drop on people from a few yards.
    It's nothing like American sniper.
