If you get butt hurt when people call you out for ripping others off then you should really give your head a wobble and have a condor moment to contemplate why you are getting called out. This forum is great as people who do know better help those who don’t. If you are here to make a quick buck of other people who enjoy the same hobby then stick that hpa 50 rpm beast up your arse and let rip.6 points -

I had a bit of a scorcher yesterday playing at RIFT's reopening of the Ridge (until it truly closes again). The booking page was open about there being no hot food available on the day so we were advised to bring our own food along - the cooking facilities were reserved for Redcon. Bottled water along with canned and hot drinks were available along with some snacks. The host also ran the White Sphere Tactical pop-up shop with a Specna Arms replica of an HK 416 being the prize for the Sunday raffle. The land owner had removed the portaloo so we had to make do with a single chemical camping toilet in a tipi tent. There were no feral players so nobody made a crime scene of the toilet and didn't clean up behind themselves. With the lack of rain recently, the ground was mostly dry with some clay dust being blown about by the wind. There were still a few spots where there was deep wet clay you could lose your boots in if they weren't laced up properly. A couple of rentals got a gentle reminder to limit their full auto shooting to a 2 second burst and there was one player who rightly got two bollockings and a final warning for taking off his eye pro in the gaming area. About 70 players were split into Blue and Red teams. The morning "Total War" session had Blue vs Red team dropping their opponent's flag and keeping theirs raised/raising theirs at the bases across the site. Blue was able to gain an advantage early both through strategy and an imbalance of players as several Red players returned to the safe zone early to hydrate so they could pin Red team to its starting and forward respawns within the first hour. In the interest of keeping the game alive, Blue team agreed to fall back to allow Red team to push again but Blue team was more organised and had a sizeable group of players who maintained a strong strategy and communications. Some players were switched in an effort to offer some balance ahead of the afternoon session, also forced by some players sitting out either entirely for the afternoon or for the final game as the heat took its toll on some of the players. The afternoon was two 50 minute games. First, Red team were attacking with the objective of recovering gold bricks from 3 locations and returning to their HQ (different area from their respawn) where after 25 minutes, Blue were allowed to attack Red's HQ and drop their flag. Red team could raise their flag again provided they weren't hit in the process but if they failed to do that by the end of the 50 minutes, their score would be nullified - the flag was kept up at as the whistle blew. For the second 50 minute game, the roles were reversed so Blue team attacked and outscored Red with the gold bricks collected and returned to HQ within the first half so Red team was forced to attack Blue team's HQ and drop and keep down the flag by the end of the game to nullify Blue team's collection. I didn't actually catch if Blue successfully defended their HQ or not but I'm under the impression they did and thus won the afternoon session. It was a very hot but good day of play without much (that I could see or hear) bickering between opposing sides. I fielded a Specna Arms SA-G12 EBB as my primary with a WE Hi-Capa 4.3 as my sidearm.4 points

Picking up other peoples grenades big no no. Throwing a dummy or a spent non reusable pyro as distraction? perfectly acceptable. Never seen some one take a hit from a dead/dummy grenade but i have used them as distraction device to get through a door while people are trying to take cover. If you took the hit thats on you, but agreed the guy sounds like a bellend.4 points

At a stage where I'm happy to share the progress on this. China Lake 40mm grenade launcher. It will be a 3+1 40mm pump action grenade launcher. Externals are pretty much done and just waiting on some parts to make progress on the internals. All 3D printed in a mixture of ABS, PLA and Wood filament. There are a couple of parts that I'm going to CNC in metal (looking at you pump arms) but the 3D printed ones will be good enough for testing.4 points -

Tournament yesterday. 5 objectives, the first started off REALLY bad, i brought my thermal optic because the temperature was low enough for it to work, and it did, had no issues finding defenders "hidden" among vegetation. The bad part was the last defender, who took out 3 teammates, i spotted him on my thermal, shot him, saw him flinch through the optic, then after a full high cap dumped on his side, he turned and shot me.... Luckily i had two other teammates remaining who shot him so much he had to call the hit. This was the only instance, everyone else on the organisation side was very honest (or at least they appear as such), actual objectives were really cool and although we didn't complete everything at 100%, we had an awful lot of fun. Final leaderboard isn't out yet, but talking to the strongest team we appear to be just 100 points behind them, which is a very low number, it's either a 2nd place or a third in the worst case. Kit used: DSG speedy boy thing + thermal Mayflower chest rig Pentagon backpack Frv belt. This week we also have a 30h game and it's going to be hell (35km expected, probably more) and the weather forecast isn't the best...3 points -

Hey guys, I've had 3 reports regarding respect & bullying, while I think some members bring it on themselves with their absurd prices, the forum rules are fairly specific about respect & perceived bullying, something that can't be tolerated. There is only one thread where sales threads from anywhere can be discussed, & if needed, the piss ripped out of them, WITHIN REASON, & that thread is here, on Macks. On this occasion I'm not going to issue warnings to anyone, but I will ask you all to familiarise yourselves with the rules, especially the snippets below which seem especially relevant here. I will also speak to the reportee, who needs to be aware there is generally "no smoke without fire", & he's definitely fanning the flames lol. Be nice to other forum users Treat others as you would like to be treated to yourself. There is absolutely no need to be abusive on these forums. If you are then your posts / topics will be edited or deleted, you may be given a warning, you may get your account suspended, and persistent offenders will be banned. Be Constructive If you don't have something constructive to add to a thread then don't post at all. This applies especially in the "Classifieds" section, if you have something to say, PM it to the seller. Comments like "good luck with the sale" or "nice gun" are also not appreciated. Thread bashing/trolling There will be some posts or threads in the forum that you may not like. If you dislike somebody's thread or some of the people participating in the discussion simply don't bother reading or replying to it. Posting/trolling in it with the sole purpose of having it closed (bashing) will not be tolerated.2 points -

Today's plastic slinging adventures took place at my most favoured haunt, Airsoft Plantation, in deepest and sunniest Essex. The safe zone was busy, but not over crowded, with probably about 160 people present. I was also using the day to try 0.30g BBs having found some in the cupboard. The first game involved us, as the attackers, starting at the DEA Base, with our first objective being to obtain an ammo box, containing four smoke grenades and information on where they were to be set off in the village, from the hill fort on the edge of the mortar pits. We had infinite regens on a buddy after a 30m fallback, while the defenders had one life in the mortar pits and two in the village. Our assault on the mortar pits went well and the ammo box was soon obtained from the hill fort; having wiped out everyone in the mortar pits, we set off to blow up the four targets in the village. At least, that was the intention; the reality was that those of our team escorting the bomber somewhat lost track of their mission as they were rather enjoying the firefights. The group that I was with swung around the village to attack it from the rear, which went well, and we soon pushed into it, taking a series of buildings from that side. Eventually, our bomber remembered his mission and disposed of the targets, albeit with something of a lack of urgency. After a short break to reload and take on fluids, we set out to reverse the game. Initially, I took up a position near the hill fort and picked off a fair few attackers before I got a nice little dink to the head, which left me with a headache for about an hour. Falling back into the village outskirts, where we held up the enemy attack for a while, I was hit again and fell further back to the rear of the village, where I concealed myself in a bush. This paid off as I spotted the bomber and his escort sneaking through the woods at the back of the village and took them all out; 0.30g BBs do cut through foliage rather well. Changing position, I engaged other attackers trying to sneak around the back, but was eventually hit again and went back to the safe zone. The next game involved ten of the players on our team, including me, being held hostage in the mortar pits. The hostage takers had one life each, while our potential liberators had infinite buddy regens after a 30m fallback. Our comrades had to rescue us without killing us; our captors were not allowed to kill us. Six of us were held captive in the bunker, where we enjoyed the banter with our captors and even more enjoyed seeing them get killed. Eventually, our rescuers arrived and we were escorted back to the plane at the DEA base; all ten hostages were rescued, which was excellent! Lucheon followed, during which a number of players left as they were struggling with the heat. Once everyone had dined and taken on more fluids, we set out for the woods for a fallback game. As the defenders, we had one life in the woods, one in the village and the final one in the mortar pits. The attackers had infinite buddy regens and had to set off bombs on the border bridge, in the well in the village and in the bunker in the mortar pits. Before this game started, there was a quick head count of both sides; the site owner failed to count me as he initially did not notice me sitting against a bush, despite only being about 6m away. When he did eventually notice me, he took a photo. Flecktarn, combined with an ability to remain very still, is very good in woods. I wandered over to our far left, where I potted several attackers before deciding that the best thing to do was to remain hidden and then sneak up behind the enemy once they had passed my position. This was very enjoyable as I took out several attackers before eventually being hit; while I was chatting to the guys who got me, they were all hit by another of our players who had done the same as I. Passing through their lines, I took up a position at the edge of the village, where we put up a good fight. I was eventually hit and fell back to the mortar pits, where I was again hit, sending me back to the safe zone again. A lot of players left after this game as they were really feeling the heat, so the reverse of it was played with far fewer numbers. We cleared the woods and blew up the border bridge rather quickly, but got bogged down taking the village and the mortar pits, with the game timing out before we could blow up the bunker. It was a very good, although very hot, day of airsoft, which was played in a good spirit, although there was a bit of whinging after lunch, which seems normal at every site I have played at. As usual, I had planned to use two rifles, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. However, the afternoon one was not happy with the battery I had brought for it and was over spinning, so I had to use just the one rifle. I was delighted to find that a 1600mAh LiFe battery can last all day. I will probably continue to use 0.30g BBs. Another excellent afternoon at Rift's Blackstone site. There were a few moans about 1 player but I didn't see anything personally so I can't comment either way. Numbers were low at only 6 or 7 a side so even with the small size of the site there were plenty of opportunities for some sneaky shenanigans. Also my new mp7 worked great and was alot of fun, it might just be a case of new pew syndrome but it's quickly become my favourite gun. The only problem I had that I didn't but more mags? All in all a great day2 points -

That baofeng should never have a range that short - it's either defective, or (more likely) the frequencies aren't programmed in correctly. If that is the case, then you will be getting very short range comms still with bleed through. I've had clear as a bell comms with identical spec baofeng at 6km in undulating woodland. Even dense urban, on uhf, should give you a reliable 500m or so. Got to say, when I used the real harris radios, the range wasn't really any better (but obviously so much better in terms of quality and feature set).1 point -

think the way i'd put it is that in macks, the seller has to come in here and actively engage the criticism. sometimes they come in and engage respectfully, even meshing with the banter, and everyone has a good time. sometimes they come in and try to fight, and get ripped on, and everyone but them has a good time. but mostly they just ignore the thread entirely. commenting on the sales post gives them nowhere to run, and as much as i agree that it makes the criticism more directly accessible for a buyer at risk of being ripped off, at the end of the day if a buyer does any kind of due diligence they'll either find the macks post or simply other information (eg ads, even completed ones, with different prices), and is it really our responsibility to guard people who won't take any steps to guard themselves?1 point -

As above, part of our fields CQB briefing is “Do not pick up anyone else’s reusable grenades” leave them where they are or if they are a trip hazard move them to the side of the corridor or room, if I randomly find one I just tell the Marshall where it is when’s there’s a lull in the action. Distracting you in any other way is fair game, I’d be pleased he didn’t come through the door and shoot me to make sure.1 point

There was a guy in the room playing the VIP (who was part of the organisation team) who saw the whole thing. He seemed entirely disinterested by it - in fact when I tried to bring him into the conversation, he remained resolute in his silence. I spoke to one of the proper marshals later, who agreed touching other pyro a no-no and was quick to point out he'd mentioned it in the brief but by this time I'd forgotten what the player who did it looked like. What is Airsoft?
Mehmet123123 reacted to Deva for a topic
The Guns Airsoft guns are full size 1:1 scale replicas of real world firearms. They shoot small plastic balls, 6mm in diameter with approximately 1 Joule of energy. This energy level is very low when compared to most other shooting genres and is a safe energy for use with both paper and human targets. These replicas are commonly made entirely from plastic with only a few metal parts inside to increase the reliability and durability of moving parts. Construction quality varies wildly from model to model, as does the use of materials. Airsoft guns can be powered by electricity (from a battery pack inside the gun), by spring (the user manually compresses the spring before each shot) or using an expanding gas (refrigerant gas is commonly used from a reservoir either inside or outside the gun). The only thing airsoft replicas have in common with real firearms is their external size and shape. Inside, these models have totally different workings to the internal mechanism of a firearm, and the materials used for construction could not possibly withstand the explosive forces of a bullet that real weapons are designed to take. The Game Similar in essence to paintball, two or more teams are pitched against each other in different scenarios. Originally designed to simulate a war zone with more realism than can be achieved with paintball, these games are played on privately owned and insured sites dotted around the country. Normal Airsoft replicas are used and strict safety limits are imposed in order to make sure that everyone has fun and no one gets injured. A days play will usually cost you about £15 to £25, or possibly more if you choose to hire a weapon. This normally includes all games during the day and hire of eye & face protection. Some sites will even provide lunch. Airsoft Skirmishing is generally far cheaper than paintball. Airsoft games can have many scenarios and there are plenty of favourites. "Capture the flag", "hostage rescue" and "last man standing" are popular paintball games that have been adapted for airsoft. To play airsoft, you must be wearing the correct protective clothing. As with many other sports you're only safe if you are properly dressed. After all, you wouldn't expect to see Lewis Hamilton getting in to his racing car wearing his favourite t-shirt and no helmet! An Airsoft BB hit on bare skin will leave a small mark on the surface of the skin that will look and feel like a bee-sting. The more powerful the airsoft gun, the more it will hurt if you get hit, but with site energy limits in the UK being largely 1 Joule, there is no possibility of a BB causing a penetrative injury. With this in mind, airsofters wear eye & face protection, sturdy boots and tough clothing. For extra protection gloves and a scarf can be worn to give cover for your hands, neck and ears. For more information and guides please go to the guides forum here: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/?showforum=71 point
