Where do I start? Maybe with they're rare because they were discontinued as they didn't sell well due to being crap and unreliable so good luck to anyone who wants spare parts or extra magazines. Or maybe that they were £100 new. Oh and they never had a bolt hold open so the crap repair makes no difference3 points -

4-figure price tag aside, i especially like this bit: "Replica can be picked up in the Netherlands or can be shipped at the buyer's expense and risk." Oh yeah, i'll definitely spend ~£500 to drive over and collect it, or have it shipped at my risk. Y'know, because £1,500 is such an insignificant amount to lose. 🙄2 points -

Rogerborg and one other reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
Welcome Have you played a game yet? If not then I suggest doing that as it'll give you an idea about what, if anything, needs doing. Also one of the best and often overlooked upgrades is to use good quality heavy weight ammo and properly setting your hop up. What site is this? Asking so I know to avoid it2 points -

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Colin Allen reacted to DanBow for a topic
Another day at Outpost in Chester on Saturday with 7 of us. Me, my missus who was playing for the first time, my youngest and her boyfriend who was playing for the first time, 2 mates and my future son in law. Standard day playing standard games, capture the flag, attack/defend and some variatio s of the same. Great gameplay in the morning as there was about 10v10 so lots of movement with good comms and excellent hit taking. After lunch was a completely different kettle of fish though! 2 groups of first time rentals arrived, one group of young teens on a birthday party and a group on a stag day. They numbered about 20 between them and good game play, comms and hit taking went right out of the bloody window. I'll admit it was fun watching the kids screaming as they charged forward on the whistle but I, and some others, decided to stay at the back as we knew there would be lots of friendly fire as they were just too excited. We were right. Absolute blatant not calling hits and some of the younger getting upset and removing their eye pro but mostly was dealt with. So, fun but not as fun as it could have been.1 point -
ICS tappet plate issue?
ButcherBill reacted to DanBow for a topic
Sorry for delayed update. . . . Put the original nozzle back in and changed the cylinder for the original too. The new cy6muat be fractionally bigger as the case now closes easier and the top strip slides on without the use of a hammer! It also shoots but only with the supplied hi-cap steel mag. Also, if I try to quickly single shot it, it dry fires every 3 or so shots but if I put it in auto it's fires fine! 🤷♂️ I bought a few mags at the same time, from different sellers, but none seem to work right. Looks like I'm going down the try every mag manufacturer until.i find what works again! I ended up with 16 m4 mags beforei found the metal Nuprol ones were best!1 point -

Selling my Daytona ak105 started off as an lct ak74 bought a 105 barrel to shorten it down I will include the old barrel Incase you’d like to go back to 74 length will come with a Bulgarian style 4 piece flash hider rk3 pistol grip- currently has ak-19 pistol grip which will also be included I can also include a magpul grip if it’s wanted will come with a powair hpa bottle with a redline mini regulator and line the stock is going to be swapped to a standard triangular folding stock (sorry I had a deal with a friend that if I let it go I’d let him have the stock) will also include spares such as a high power air shaft, low power is currently installed, a Daytona oem hop rubber and some spare hop up parts and grip line this was an impulse buy a few years ago, while it’s fun to use and recoil is great I just can’t get along with it I don’t have the time to keep up with maintenance so it’s just sat in a case for about a year now shoots at around 280 on .28 (although I’ve been recommended to use heavier) with recommended pressure from Daytona website, I have used both low and high power nozzles and while you can get more accuracy and distance with the high power nozzle it seems to struggle more as you have to run it below the recommended pressure pickup would be preferred as it’ll be a large package but I also do not mind posting can send videos of it working if needed willing to negotiate offers but I feel this is fair for a complete package.£700

Well it's not that easy to build a performing AEG out of the blue without any teching experience. First of all you need to set a goal (rps, energy and such), then you need to understand how things work inside the gearbox before even looking at a website to buy things. Plenty of guides around the internet, watch them and learn the theory behind teching. Only after you've done all of this, you can look at your gun and check if you can actually achieve your goal with that or if you are better off buying a second gun.1 point

Trying to get my UKARA renewed
Rogerborg reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
The letters/numbers on the ukara database were the site membership, the site just didn't charge you for it. The only difference is that they now charge for it but throw in extras such as discounts on game fees. Also it only lasts for 12 months so if it hadn't been renewed since then you'll need to go through the whole 3 games in no less than 2 months again1 point -

Rogerborg reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
Eh? Your site membership is what goes onto the ukara database1 point -
He means that it's all going to run very quickly and likely suffer from pre-engagement resulting in the gearbox shitting itself quite rapidly. What are you hoping to achieve? What is your desired end result? Also - how much experience do you have with working on AEG gearboxes? It looks like the BJX gears you've bought are for a gel blaster, not an airsoft gun. Alloy piston is a mistake. The Maxx hop unit tracer connects to the motor terminals for the tracer. If you do that it may well cause an issue with the mosfet and will almost definitely cause an issue with a brushless motor.1 point

MK12 upgrading help.
Chev Chelios reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Ahoy and welcome. Wow, you are new. You'll quickly find excuses to add to that collection. I also run a solid-stock long-barrel 5.56 as DMR, but just to be clear, do you intend to run your gun as a full-auto gun, or as a semi-auto DMR? The answer is: it depends. It depends on what battery you're using, and how well the mags feed, and whether your gears have a tappet delayer, and... well, if it works, it works. However, given the barrel length, you may find issues with sending BBs down the barrel quicker than they come out, but there's no way to be sure other than to try it and see what performance you get. No, I think you should play with it as-is and then deal with the reality that you observe. Bearings or solid bushings? I prefer bushings as bearings just add more points of failure. But again, I wouldn't fix something that isn't broken - if your bearings are working, then play with them. Decent choice, although Maple Leaf bushings and omega nubs are very popular for a good reason. If you're intending to play at airsoft sites, that's your defence. The reality is that if you use it sensibly, nobody is ever going to ask, or care, how it came to look the way that it looks. Have you played with it? If so, how well is it performing?1 point -

ICS GML 6 Round Grenade Launcher. Great condition – a few marks here and there from general use, but no battle scars. Well maintained and always cleaned. The ultimate room clearance and intimidation weapon! Includes 6x ASG 90rd shower shells, plus a huge bag of official ASG caps for them. All shells are gas tight and have only been used a couple of times. Also includes a long bungee sling and vertical foregrip. Collection only in Derby – I currently do not have any materials suitable for packing this monster, and it’s painfully hard to find a gun case that will take it (I’ve been keeping it in a huge fishing tackle bag along with my plate carrier and other tactical kit).£185

Three MWSs. The mk12 is semi-locked and run as a DMR, but the others are 1.14J with the fun switch and no MED. Got a carry handle + 4x repro colt scope and the relevant handguards for if I want to turn the m16a4 into an a1 (Vietnam filmsim) or a2 (90s filmsim). I don't care if the Hogue grip isn't period accurate, A2 pistol grips suck and I hate them Outside my m700s, these are the other guns I tend to use a lot. I like my gas guns!1 point

Spotting a clone
nickel0001 reacted to JimFromHorsham for a topic
With the clone wars stronger than ever I thought it might be an idea to have a thread based on how to spot what’s real and what’s not , to be clear this is not a clone bashing thread , but simply a way to hopefully help you get what is advertised , be it parts , optics , lasers/torches or maybe even RIF’s themselves . just because it says Aimpoint/Eotech/Magpul/Surefire doesn’t mean it is , even the packaging is being cloned to a high standard so don’t get get duped . I’ll start with a simple Magpul CTR stock in FDE , there will be better clones than others and I’ve picked a “Tak Tak” variant which retails at around £15-£20 in the UK VS a Gebuine CTR which retails around £75-£80 , the clone Says Magpul on it so in passing looks legit , the biggest tell is usually going to be the colour but as we know everyone’s photos and lighting looks a bit different and if you have nothing genuine to compare to when it arrives you are just taking the sellers word . heres a few comparisons , and highlighted differences between the two which should be easy to spot , Genuine is CTR is either Top or to the Left . main points to note - Genuine will have black tabs where the stock pad locates NOT TAN Genuine will have a molding mark on the underside , oval shaped . Genuine stock pad will have an “F” in the lower right hand side “pocket” Text spacing , the Genuine will be bolder and spaced correctly Length , generally the Clones will be a touch longer . Extra Text , the genuine will have extra text in the lower frame , plus batch / manufacturing numbers just above the locking lever . Hope this helps , as time permits I will add more comparisons .1 point -
