    What have you made?

Had a day off, was bored and those bits of wood that you keep just in case turned into this . .

  2. Don't you dare bring context into our ignorant rants. ? On topic, I run everything on 11.1V now, if I can physically fit one. If you're into buying 3-figure toys that are guaranteed to hang on a wall for almost all of the time, why fret over the possibility that one component might fail? Especially when you can replace anything, or bypass it with 20p of wire and solder.

  8. While i have a K as well, i took this one. Worked as a good combo all in all, MP5's very capable to about 40m, and sufficiently accurate. I much prefer the folding stock over a collapsible one. ?

  9. I bought one of these a year or so ago. Barely used, as I love the look and don't want to ruin the rif outside. I've only used 2s and .28's, and find it more than adequate. I've watched YouTube and read forums and it seems if you run it with 3s you will burn the MOSFET quickly. I may get a perun (or similar), ahead of time and be ready for the inevitable. This MP5 is too nice to be stuck on the wall or the back of a cupboard...

    Tango Down Airsoft

These guys are based in Northwich, Cheshire and they have a cracking little shop in the town centre opposite Lidl and you can buy on their website too here: Tango Down Airsoft Used them for the past couple of years and if they don't have something in stock, they'll order it in for you, usually within a couple of days. Customer service is absolutely spot on too, Al and Tracy are very helpful, always go the extra mile to help ? I won't buy from anywhere else now!!

  15. I've never played at a site that blanket-bans multi-shot shotguns. I've never heard of a site that banket-bans multi-shot shotguns. Not even gas or AA-12s (in semi-mode). Maybe CQB sites should, but here we are.

  19. Pump action shotgun is fine in semi-only games in my opinion, but semi-auto shotguns might be pushing it a bit. Yeah, you have 3 or 6 BBs in the air, but most people can shoot more than 3 BBs on semi-auto in the time it takes you to pump the shotgun and pull the trigger. 1 BB in the air is more of a DMR thing rather than semi-only games from my experience, though the best way to clarify would be to ask your local site as to what they're going for with that.

  20. It would depend on the site Semi is not one ball in flight at a time but one per pull, as opposed to full auto A quick enough finger can replicate full auto, but doesn’t have the danger issue of full auto from snagging on a bush A multi shot shotgun shell sits somewhere between semi single shot and burst fire Burst fire is a set number of shots one after another, eg one pull of burst giving three BBs in a row whereas the shotgun shell launches three at once Assuming their semi rule is a combination of safety and minimising dick players then multi shot shotguns would be acceptable - but up to the site

  22. Took the 15yr old to a new local site for his birthday, fast forward a year. the magic ukara licence appears. and we now have four guns. the lad has a cyma ak47 and a m14 . I'm rocking a specna m249 and a jg sa56 fal I'm in the process of absolute going over the top with the m249. got one of those bonkers smoke tracers. a gun cam. just waiting on an under barrel grenade launcher abd and a laser unit to fulfil my 3rd midlife crisis. most fun a 52yr old has has since discovering rave in the late 90s. The eldest 27 has decided he wants to get on board so best start the wish list. I honestly thought you were all joking about the money pit this hobby is. but my god there's just so much cool shit either for a tenner or £200. Game day Sunday. can't wait to sling plastic from the beast while chucking pyro everywhere

  27. Been a user of WE since the closed bolt era, but i'm now swapping to TM as I don't have to stick with a single, shit aftermarket option (note, not upgrade, aftermarket, as they're anything but upgrades). Also another consideration, WE V2 (what most retailers in the UK have in stock at the moment, and what all used sales will be) is now end of life, as V3 has been released 4-5 months ago. There isn't enough information on the reliability of V3 to be able to recommend them, and V2 parts ceased being manufactured 3 months prior to the first production runs of V3, so parts will start to become more scarce.

    MWS or WE Open Bolt?

Modern stuff is cool, but consider a classic M4A1, I spent loads on bits over the years but ended up full circle and it's actually my favourite mostly tm stock parts, the BCM is VFC with real BCM rail, buffer, grip stock, steel barrel, 4UAD hop unit etc, but just can't beat the GWOT look and the performance of the mws.

My son and his mate use Valken Mi-7, they are 12-13 years old. Masks fit great and as they are double lensed don't steam up. They cover the face totally and protect the ears. My son has detached the visor and wears a boonie hat over the top. Only other thing I would recommend for a kid is something to protect the neck, my son got hit in the throat and it hurt him so much he almost gave it up. Unluckily hit but if you've got bare skin you can guarantee you'll get hit there. He now has a scrim around his neck and is fine. Last thing, gloves. getting hit in the knuckle is painful, my daughter got hit and had a lump for weeks.

One of the fellas I have played alongside a few times is very keen on the Dye i5 mask he and his 14 year old lad use and used since getting into airsoft 18 months ago.

My sprogs and I popped in here today, just for a nosey. Very nice little shop with enough of just about everything you'd need. Cheap aswell. Oh, and there is a full time Time Crisis arcade machine in the shop that works! For 5 minutes I was 16 again.

    What have you made?

Few little jobs today: The barrel on my SCAR-H SSR has a necked down section just behind the flash hider that looked odd. Had a spare M16 thread protector that i bored out and cut down. Bit of test fitting and light cuts to get the flash hider clocked to have the flats vertical. It doesn't look quite right but it's better. Also made an ally charging handle for it, instead of the plastic one it came with. Just needs painting now: Then converted a spare 18C to a 17 G3 as i'm nicking the full-auto bits for another build. Some little milling cuts inside the slide and made a "spacer bar" that sits under the rear sight:

  43. It can't. Stl are mesh formats. It has 3d points and triangles to define the shape. CAD formats are different and can't be created from meshes. For example you create an arch instead of a sharp corner, CAD knows it's an arch and you can change the radius later or just delete the arch and it will give you the sharp corner. In a mesh an arch is just a series of lines, the software doesn't know about any radiuses, etc. CAD software can export to stl meshes. They then approximate the object with 3d points and triangles. You can manipulate meshes in sketchup or meshmixer for example. Many CADs can import meshes and display them in 3d but they can't modify them with their usual tools. Then you can design your cad object using the mesh as reference.
