You can try running it with the universal holster, although buying a retention holster is cheaper than losing a mag. You might be OK in CQB, as you're more likely to find or have the mags returned, and you'll be using it more often anyway. Or you could file your mag release down to reduce the chance of it dropping them. I do this as I run... "period" holsters.

  3. Close enough anyway. Purchased the initial PTS kit release in March 2010 prior to them coming out with complete replicas. So I'd imagine this was manufactured in late 09 or very early 10. I have to say a big thanks to @JCB181 who turned the tub full of busted-looking parts I sent him back in to a complete gun that can actually fold and shoot. I've got no intention of even regularly plinking this let alone taking it to games, but I did want to keep it and have it be whole at least. Even though I've got the Aegis version now to actually use, this original version is dear to my heart. Despite only being taken to maybe 1 or 2 games, this thing has been through the wars. I'd say that out of the 15 years it's existed, it has spent at least 12 of them being either broken or just sat in a box in bits. It has a 'dusty' look as an overly enthusiastic, much younger version of myself decided to give it a camo paint job not too long after I bought it. I'd just spray painted my PTS ACR at the time and I was on a camo paint kick I recall. I had someone try to remove the paint and they got most of it, but the Krylon seems to have really worked its' way in to the pores of the plastic and I don't think there is any way of getting it back to black at this point. The selector looks ground down because it has been. The FPG needs a proprietary super low-profile G18 selector that's far slimmer than the usual one in order for the Glock slide to fit inside the plastic kit. When I initially put the kit together it had an issue where by in use it would not stay in one of the 2 fire mode positions (either semi or full). My idiot self in 2010 super-glued the original part in place to permanently fix it to semi, and over the next few years that particular brand of glue somehow hardened in to a Vibranium type material. The actual internal parts of the Glock pistol have broken in a couple of different ways over the years, both up in the slide and down in the frame, meaning that the slide needed to be fully disassembled. The original selector had to be cut off and the low profile FPG-specific selector pieces for KWA/KSC G18s don't exactly grow on trees to put it mildly. Hence JCB has very kindly modified a regular KSC G18 selector to fit. In terms of the kit, many parts have broken from just the small amount of usage it's seen. The catch that holds the whole upper shroud with the pic rail closed had snapped, but luckily that was such a common issue that an aftermarket company sold a stronger replacement part (back when these guns were actually in common circulation). Also another spring loaded hook piece in the hand web area that locks the pistol grip in place broke after a few opens/closes, and there's currently a 1-off replacement machined from scratch in there instead. The gun has the aftermarket extended inner/outer barrel kit that was available for a short time, along with the optional sling attachment point on the main hinge, which was either Beta Project or a PTS accessory I think. Thinking now, I also have the pic mounted carry handle/iron sights in a box somewhere, need to dig that out. Anyway, mainly wanted to post this to give credit to JCB for putting this old thing back together. I've not done much internal work on GBB pistols myself and I definitely don't know much about KWA Glocks or the proprietary guts of the FPG. I took this to a couple of different guys I know who do work on RIFs and neither could get it sorted or really were interested in taking the time to do so, which is frankly quite understandable if you're not already familiar with this specific gun. When JCB messaged me out of the blue on here and managed to see the whole thing through to the end I was chuffed to say the least. Thanks mate ?

  4. "How did your airsoft day go?" Img 6662.mp4 About sums it up. Theatrics aside, finally managed to get my CYMA's tracer AK hop to play somewhat nice (trust me, this unit is absolute crap and I wish I could replace it but the rotary I bought didn't fit) and shoot in a relatively straight line but the accuracy is still pretty naff out of the 455mm ZCI barrel I popped inside, so might end up looking into something else if anybody has any pointers - my mate was having an absolute howler of a game however with his gear being annoying, his Arcturus AK-12 PE which has been the steady horse for the best part of a year misbehaving and a few other niggles. Used the WELL MCX Rattler with no problems after the Airtac AK adapter decided to do the above but it was only brief because my mate decided to pack up, some days are just bad gear days. Missed the rain which was a bonus, and waffled some shit with the other regulars until the games finished so we could get out [we were boxed in the corner] Also didn't get to use the WEagle at all, as it was struggling to cycle due to the weather but the new P229 holster from Ali was nice and it perfomed as well as a non glock could. Nothing broke excluding the adapter, which was a nice change of pace!

  8. After an utter debacle last Sunday, when I spent most of the day attempting to fix the lad's new G36K so that he could use it before returning to the urban wasteland that is Stoke, I was supposed to be at a private invitation game at Airsoft Plantation today. Unfortunately, they had to cancel it, so I fitted a Perun Hybrid to my new JG FN FAL instead. Unfortunately, I cannot make the rearranged date as I am going to "tanz mit Laibach" the night before and will not be in any state to get up early the next morning.

  9. Well that was a wet and windy one today, wasn't it? Went to Worthing for their annual tribute game called "Tom's game" in honour of Tom Andrews, the former owner and one of the real original airsoft guys in the UK who was an utter legend; he was the guy who got me into airsoft and was a lovely chap who just wanted to get people into the hobby. Got nothing but good things to say about the guy, but he unfortunately passed away about 9 years ago (I think, but could be wrong on the exact number), so every year the 2nd game day in January is in honour of him. That also said, I only played the first game (well, two games, but it was the same games but switching sides) today. Left my pistols, holsters, belt kit and ghillie (both my ghillie and rifle ghillie) in the car and just went out with my SRS. One mag in the gun, 4 mags in my pockets and no pistol for sub 30m engagements, so I had to be careful. It was a simple king of the hill style game at the tower base, and so I took up my favourite spot in the first game and got a load of kills from that spot, still totally invisible without my ghillie as nobody even shot at me, then 2nd game I... really started to feel the wind. I was trying to shoot at a guy through a gap, but the wind was catching my BBs before they even got to the gap and blew them way off course. It was during this game that it also started to rain fairly heavily, so I called it there. Had fun, games were simple but fun, no issues with anyone not taking their hits, and even the rentals were good today, both on hit taking and standard rental behaviours of giving your position away or friendly firing you; none of that happened! I knew I wasn't going to play too much with the forecast how it was, so the other guns I brought along were the Tanaka m700 AICS and my MTW 308. It's hard to say exactly because the wind was so strong, but both guns were performing flawlessly (all my shots were veering off to the right because of the wind, but the hop trajectory looked good!). I used my HPA tapped mag to test the m700 and with the parts I put in it it's shooting phenomenally well, then I set the MTW up for 1.82 - 1.84J on .43s as a DMR with the dwell appropriately set for the new 420mm 6.08 PDI barrel I had spare and so chucked in it (that was the power spread. Really consistent!). No longer having any issues with the inconsistent hop up either, so that is now (finally!) all sorted, so going forward that'll be my main gun until the weather warms up and I can go back to my mk12 MWS as my DMR and my various m700s as bolt actions. Very productive day, but far from ideal weather conditions for airsoft, especially sniping!

Cloth holster ? Don't do it, they wobble in the holster, hit the mag release & bang, lost in undergrowth, you've no mag & new ones about £25-£30. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315473449155?_skw=hi+capa+holster&epid=7033722926&itmmeta=01JJFFCZDDFHRMAZ3MGQ1VRG0Z&hash=item4973aed0c3:g:ln4AAOSwZgNmnqPv&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKn32a1IoxR7BSYW30dGVgJJgp3kLFo%2BbrAcRFs%2FN41HqOLdtCJzBPDHIpkij59XUKiB3JZIFLKyOyj1Si1v4hxtvDTU4IP9DnPtrwphTQZBiOaKc%2F1gy9BkIzCRDQ2RvIswNdmqqggJdNYN5669IkzrTTsKLfMuuVKzcrWdQon2hvvfq7JZYA0ou4dyU4KJ8i6fat4HQPot1vBcCDOf1M8n7L4Tie1VMXTPi4aVTVMFSzS7I5BVs8f5Bn5oyV80thyMYp4azsQxdMT2o4FbrwnjQJ%2BVseK1OlY2HhZXIKkcxA%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4D3s--TZQ

  13. My comment was in jest, if you do a word search in the classifieds it'll give you a fair idea of a second hand price in the UK, if you're from the states then this isn't the best place to ask as availability & market prices will be different. In saying that... well done, it's a fantastic prize.

  20. It's not a bad point, but I'm not sure it's something I would try. As I say I think the paint has gotten right down in to the 'grain' of the material, and after almost 15 years being on there it's as well set and baked on as it'll ever be. Krylon has done me very well in terms of adding camo to guns, but in my experience it is tenacious to say the least. Whenever I'm weighing up spraying anything else I give it a long and thorough think before committing. If anything I'd probably just put new paint on at this point. Though on that point I did recently learn that the NFM EC Paint (if you can get it) is the one to go with if you want a removable camo job. That stuff mostly comes off if you just leave it in the damp/rain overnight.

They broke off & affected the performance at the time, enough to be relegated to the boot of my car, on closer investigation I found the issue & replaced it, the lugs are cosmetic but it was only £30 inc postage to replace it. I've kept it as spare parts as it fits my Scar-H too.

  26. First skirmish of the year for me, Yellow team (us) were tasked with attacking the ammo dump & lobbing a bomb in to win... yellows were made up of the usual diehards and slowpokes (mainly me) & a couple of friendly renters. Yellow won but IMO reds played a cracking game, they really took the 'best form of defence is attack' ideology to heart, after yellows took the main bunker one sneaky red calmly knived about 3 or 4 of us from behind and shot another couple from right in the middle of our group, to be fair (and in his own words) he then got LIT UP, this seemed to form the reds whole gameplay as at least 5 or 6 would try to flank us but we got wise, they did get a couple of us but on the whole were repelled, I got a couple before getting teamkilled & had to watch a red walk right past me as I waited my 3mins (no chance of a medic). Game 2, yellows were to defend the bank full of gold, if the reds captured it yellows were then on the attack to try and recapture it. I set up camp in a bunker knowing the attackers often swarm from that side & swarm they did. I only got 1 before taking a hit so off to the spawn point I went, I returned to another bunker at the side of the game area but a red with great range caught me & as I headed back to the spawn I decided to head home, not gonna lie but my boot full of bog water & mud was bugging me a lot, I'm fat lad and enjoy the site on a dryish day but adding another couple of kg's to my footwear broke my fun button. I took the HK416A5 (used for game 1) which performed very well but would benefit from a stronger spring (might try a bigger battery first). My L85A1 was used in game 2 but as I was removing the sling the reds attacked & I panicked, threw it at my feet & started pewing in their direction, I remembered about the sling as I headed to the spawn point but TBH decided the trip back wasn't worth the effort so told one of the renters where it was & that he (Ross) was welcome to it. I had the T3 MC51 in the car as a backup, a Browning Hi-power & P38 as sidearms but they never left the boot of my car. On the whole I enjoyed my games right up to when I went knee deep into a bog, POW is my usual site and I'd recommend it to any players close enough to travel to it. p.s. this was waiting at the door for me so just as well I'd left early.

  28. No issues importing, asked the seller to write my ukara all over the box and got stung with a little customs charge, but that was to be expected. The only faff I had to deal with was the seller themselves not shipping it after a month of me pestering them. I've been going to Japan near enough twice yearly since 2018 (with the exception of those obvious years) and sent guns back home every time, even if your ukara information isn't on the box etc, border force will contact you to do all their checks so I haven't had any issues in that time. IKEA special ? unfortunately that carpet doesn't exist anymore after my doberman decided to shit all over it lmao

Decided to make some space for the toys I've just got and those that will come in the future, first pic is the before. HK416A5 & T3 MC51 missing as they're packed up for playing tomorrow. The wall looks so bare now ?, not sure I like it TBH but until I get bigger walls it'll have to do. Every cloud has a silver lining tho... I had to tidy my mancave to do the move & take the pics. ?
