Sorted now, Jedi has dealt with it, & clarified the situation 👍. Definitely no retailers 👋4 points -
Went and tried out Players of War today, as its actually easier for me to get to than S8. Entrance was a bit difficult to spot from one direction, but once in its got a decent proper hard standing with no dubious drops or quagmires to get stuck in. Safezone is well cordoned with what must be close to 20ft high netting to prevent stray fliers entering it. Canteen was a nice surprise for me, but alas I'm on restricted diet, so kind of moot point. Sign in process for a first timer was nice and clear with segregated sections for sign in, the shop and chrono (other sites could really take note on this bit). Game areas are similar vein to S8 (Only so much you can do with a planned forest after all) but a little less treacherous in places. Lots of multitiered cover, which is especially important for vertically challenged folk like myself. Once I got my bearings, the games were pretty good and there wasn't any point where I was dreading a long slog back to a spawn. Critically the laying down the law on things in the safety brief, I saw no dubious play all day - which is a rarity these days - certainly wasn't any teflon warriors floating about. It's also the first site in a while where those with sniper rifles were actually consistently observing MED's well - probably because they don't let just anyone rock up with one immediately on day one, which was absolutely fantastic. Definitely a site i'll be headed back to, as the vibe in general was excellent, and balancing of teams was done at sign in, so there wasn't any clique-y grouping up BS at the start of the day.3 points

Shops and the Classifieds
Hobbnob and one other reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
Recently I've noticed ads appearing in the classifieds for guns and gear where the seller is a store trying to pass as a private sale. What are others thoughts on this? It may just be me being cynical, but personally I think it's a bit of a dick move as the shop can get away with no giving any kind of warranty or after sales support and puts me off buying anything from them.2 points -
Shops and the Classifieds
Cannonfodder and one other reacted to Jedi_Master for a topic
This forum is for Airsofters not shops, the Classifieds are for second hand sales. The forum rules do allow for a retailer to create one topic in the Places to Buy section, using their shop name as a title, with a link to their website and a description about why players might wish to do business with them. They are encouraged to engage with members and answer any questions that might be posted in their shop topic. If a shop topic is full of copy and pasted marketing spiel it will get no replies (before it's deleted). It is possible that a shop owner/worker could also an airsofter and wants to sell their personal items. However, any advert they create in the Classifieds needs to make sure that it does not have shop related images and retail style text (or lift from a retail website) because if in doubt the Mods will treat an advert as if it is from the retailer and not an individual.2 points -
TM G17 Gen5 MOS upgrade parts
Mr Dellski reacted to MistakenMexican for a topic
Since January, I’ve been doing a lot of research on the TM G17.5 and now have 4 of them. As a result, I’ve been buying and trying new things on the market. I thought it might be useful for a thread with the parts available and what works, what doesn’t. Here are two that I’ve finished. The other two are still waiting on parts. The only upgrade part I’d say is required, is an uprated hammer spring if you’re running green gas. All of my G17.5s light strike when running green gas/propane. The stock slide is carbon polymer so *should* manage fine with green gas. uprated hammer springs: Guarder - not sure Cowcow Tech (CCT)- 120% The CCT full spring set is about £15 from Empire. Pro Arms also do a spring set but doesn’t include hammer spring. Everything else is pretty much optional. I’d also recommend upgrading the piston lid and nozzle return spring. CCT do a piston lid CCT and Proarms do nozzle return springs. Both are good. The Proarms pack is better value for money IMO. Slides that I’m aware of Detonator (all drop in, no modifications required): G17 - standard G17 - boresight solutions G34 - TTI Detonator also do a couple of limited editions specific for the South Korean market… but you’d need a mate in South Korea to buy you one and ship it. Proarms (all drop in apparently - not tried them though): G17 - FDE/black cerakote Wii-tech: G17 - standard - steel or aluminium (both with steel barrel) - G17 - tactical - steel or aluminium (both with threaded steel barrel and 6.03 TBB) note: the aluminium slides were drop in. The steel slide I’ve been sent does not work and Wiitech are looking into why. Mafioso: Full steel G17 kit - required modification to the TM BBU to work. Guarder: Not yet released but the steel slide kit looks promising. 5KU: Aluminium standard slide kit - haven’t tried but heard 5KU quality has improved recently. Outer Barrels: none of the aluminium threaded outer barrels worked with a metal slide and tracer for me. But I’m sure I’ve seen people on Reddit using theirs with a tracer. The aluminium barrels work with the stock slide and a tracer. Detonator threaded outer barrel Proarms threaded outer barrel C&C tac threaded outer barrel w/Roland style comp. Other Accessories: JDG do a very cool magwell. JDG also do magazine extensions for V2 mags. Bomber do a TTI style magwell. Guarder, CCT and Wiitech do aftermarket recoil rods guarder does the serial number delete plate. it sounds like Guarder might be doing steel internals and also a nylon polymer aftermarket grip. MOS sight plates Detonator - version for RMR/SRO. works well, good fit. Bomber - Version for RMR/DPP/ACRO. Can’t comment on the ACRO or DPP but the RMR is a good fit. Angry Gun - Versions for RMR/DPP/ACRO. Can’t comment on the DPP but the ACRO and RMR are good fit C&C Tac - RMR only. haven’t tried but looks similar to the angry gun version 5KU - RMR only. haven’t tried but their quality has got better recently. Revanchist - RMR only. Probably the most disappointing of the lot to be honest. Fits well. But very basic design compared to all the others. Iron Sights detonator: Photo-reactive high sights. tarran style fibre sights. pro arms: tritium high sights. They’re quite expensive… but when have tritium sights been cheap? wiitech: Aluminium low sights aluminium high sights with a couple of different options. Things to avoid: I’d recommend avoiding Gunday. I bought a set of sights and Magwell off them. The sights can’t be fitted without drilling extra holes into the slide. The Magwell requires modification to the frame… if anyone else has feedback, it might be good to feedback here to help people avoid lemons or buyers remorse.1 point -

Hot off the back of my ghillie stuff, here's something completely different: The Arasaka JKE-X3 Akaoni Carbine Prototype. It's loosely based on the JKE-X2 Kenshin from Cyberpunk 2077 and was built to compliment my 'Cyber Ninja' loadout I've been using recently. Definitely not to everyone's taste, but it might float a boat or two. It features: Sound-activated electroluminescent wiring, multi-coloured LEDs in the grip, a sound+IR activated round counter, a muzzle flash tracer and few other nice touches. All-in, 6 different power sources 😆. Built on the SSE18 platform.1 point -
The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Colin Allen reacted to LMKipper for a topic
Funnily enough @Colin Allen I was there too, although I only played the morning as I had to dash off. The only thing I wanted to add was that I was almost bowled over by the amount of young players there today. All super enthusiastic and excited to be there, as well as a whole family of rentals (mum, dad and three kids) on the blue team. Clearly AP do an amazing job of attracting new people to airsoft, which I think other sites struggle with. A really lovely thing to see.1 point -

Knowing what a lot of stores call a warranty anyway that's not so much a loss, but knowing they are likely lemons is not cool. As Cannonfodder says, it would knock them off my 'do they have it list'. I thought retailers were a flat 'no' here l, which is one of the reasons avenger63 gets so much love and attention in waves.1 point -

Jumping on this bandwagon with a noveske (I know technically it's no an mws lol) but boy do I love it. Upgraded the recoil buffer spring to a 120%, 130% nozzle return spring, g&p Ali buffer with one weight and a 50° flamingo bucking. Oh, don't forget the 3d printed flat hop nub! 😂 Ranging around the 65m mark nicely. Not that I play outdoors much but these things are a work of art.1 point -

BB pistol
Mr Dellski reacted to Chev Chelios for a topic
I have an Air Arms S410 with a suppresser, comparing it to airsoft guns you would want a gas or spring bolt action rifle or a NBB (non blow back) like a Mk23 SOCOM pistol. Both as boring as the S410. If I wanted something for plinking in the garden would go with something fun like the "ASG CZ75 Marushin Shell Ejecting Gas Blowback Pistol" myself.1 point -

Yep all lengths in AEG. I'm just waiting on the 2nd sample to arrive, hopefully end of next week. They sent the 1st sample to me couple of weeks ago but it didn't have the internal polishing. I'll post up some video of it. Again some interesting stuff with in that you all might find interesting.1 point

Barrel length effects on accuracy - Breakdown and recommendations
ruskitseller reacted to ak2m4 for a topic
2 identical aeg's for testing, one with a 3/4 and other with a closed, same hop, same rubber. I imagine many people will disagree but it's just my observation. Maybe it's down to the super tightness of the barrels I was testing, most around 6.01 +/- 0.01. I didn't get too technical for linear relationships and curves, if it flies straight and long I'm happy. I should have 6.03 / 6.04 stock in soon so will be interesting to see what they're like. Ultimately the shorter barrels just seemed to give me a lot less grief. When testing when I come across ones which I'm not happy with I just put them to one side, I bore-scope them to see what might cause the curve but I can never find what it is. I've been refining the process over the past 6 months, I'm a little sick of it tbh as it's a lot of extra work in deburring and polishing. I won't be doing this when the new barrels come in thankfully.1 point -
