  1. Brushless Gossip Issue 1 - September 2024 ---- Strolling across Aliexpress I've noticed a few new brushless motors popped up recently, and I am happy to say there seems to be a new generation of brushless arms race. The brands seem to have picked up the chatters and are now starting to advertise their improved CPUs and algorithms and response times measuring in milliseconds. The prices seem to be drifting down a little as well which is good. For discussion I will note them down here along with some marketing points they are making. This is purely a review of their marketing and I have not bought any of these. In no particular order: ---- Chaoli CLBL 480 ~£90 + VAT Two models, 26.5k-39k and 39k-48k adjustable RPM with potentiometer on the case "3 ms response" "32-bit CPU" "Emergency stop after power failure, no buffer, stable output" Seems to have a capacitor on the control board Comment: Probably the oldest of this bunch because I have seen this model before but not the others. Potentially the fastest response of the bunch by 4 ms. Still expensive, if they remove the adjustable RPM and make it cheaper this can be a winner. Good for chasing trigger response. ---- T238 QRBLS "Quick Response" ~£68 + VAT Choice of 25k/28k/37k models, no on-board adjustable RPM "Emergency stop after power failure, no buffer, stable output" Comment: Some impressive videos on Youtube, does seem to have faster response. Good budget option. Unknown CPU and response ms, could possibly be room for improvement. Could be good enough for all intent and purposes. ---- (T238 / Solink?) KPG Gamma Brushless ~£58 + shipping £2.33 + VAT Choice of 36k/43k models "7 ms start time" "ARM Cortex M4 @ 100 Mhz" "self-developed patented algorithm" Comment: Impressive marketing. 7 ms is not the fastest tho. RPM seems a bit too much, could perhaps make it slower and improve torque or efficiency. Good budget option if you want the higher RPM. ---- (T238 / Solink) "Demon kinG" ~£110 + shipping £24 + VAT (barely below threshold for Customs Duty!) Choice of 34k/39k/48k/60k models "7 ms start time" "ARM Cortex M4 @ 100 Mhz" "self-developed patented algorithm" Comment: Expensive but they market it as flagship so I would expect the highest quality components. Same factory with the Gamma and the T238? They seem to suggest the 60k model is absolute bonkers for forbidden builds but this is probably irrelevant to most people. Good for unlimited budget extreme builds. ---- Final thoughts: I should throw in the Paragon brushless as honourable mention ("3 ms start") because it was probably the first motor that I am aware to market their boot up time, and I think we can call these millisecond-conscious brushless motors a new generation. And this gen is entering an exciting arms race. The market has definitely moved on from the days of Warheads, and in my opinion unless these last-gens come down in prices, there is little reason to pick them over the newer cheaper models. With Specna starting to bring in brushless into their stock builds (albeit a previous-gen brushless) we are perhaps seeing the start of brushless becoming mainstream in the near future.

  2. A fair few to keep me happy But this is over the course of 20 years playing, buying broken, fixing and selling on ^^ this B&T is real world stuff I think they are still going but like most manufacturers you can't just buy direct from them you have to go via shops I say the old stuff is amazing, can't say I've had anything new from them for a number of years but if a CA G3 came up I'd snap someone's arm off for it

  3. First off B&T is Brugget & Thomet is a Swiss Arms Company, they make the MP5 under license from HK. Classic army used to make an MP5's with B&T Trades on. I have an SD one for sale. Secondly the TM may have a plastic upper but it is small made of good plastic with no heavy forend on it unlike M16's so it's not a problem. As your after a light reliable back up I would go with the TM.

  4. Its TM innit, while they've not always been "THE" thing that buyers want, they've always been a sure thing for retailers, it just makes sense in the long run.

  5. They've been one of the most consistent recipients of negative reviews that I've personally seen over the years, as far as retailers go. Not small issues either, sometimes pretty egregious stuff. Personally I only tend to regularly check a small number of shops, but from what I see online there's been a LOT of retailers pop up within the last decade; a few closings too ofc, but quite a lot of new ones. I certainly don't have stats to hand by any stretch, but if I had to put a bet one way or the other, I feel like I'd say more sellers have opened than closed post-turn of the millennium. By quite a few potentially (if I were to be bold). As for TM, not sure what other folks see, but my observation is that it seems to be the one brand of RIF that's always just consistently selling and selling out at shops. I'm not sure if there are any other brands (within the UK) that have businesses dedicated to them the way we have the likes of E6 (doing both sales, specific parts and tech work) but again, TM just seems to have the most of that type of thing 'orbiting' it by a long stretch; far as I can tell. People always want more NGRS and MWS guns/mags and the various pistols/mags. Which is a very good thing imho.

  7. Yes lots of experience, I'm a HK whore, owned over 700 airsoft rifles and the vast majority have been HK stuff CA will always have the better, more tougher externals when it comes to AEG's VS TM and JG

  8. Classic army will always have a better exterior build quality than TM and JG

  9. It always amazes me that people will spend hundreds on "upgrades" but still insist on using those cheap shitty chargers

Stariver apparently is owned by the same company as T238, sell a lot of Gel Blaster products under that brand in China. My Solink ones aren't on Aliexpress I don't think - well I've not seen them.

An all metal, fully trademarked and super chunky sidearm great for adding a realistic bit of heft to your loadout. Arrived to me second hand with some minor marking on the frame as shown on the pictures. Comes with x1 standard magazine and a black NUPROL retention Holster fitted with a MOLLE adapter panel. Would probably benefit from a clean/service and as I have no gas, I cannot confirm with any degree of certainty that the mag is gas tight. Price includes postage and Fees.

  15. B&T is a Swiss weapons company, which represents, among others, H&K.

  16. There was a thread started months ago asking the same thing but I'm afraid I couldn't find it for you, I'd recommend a basic molle vest like nighthawkkhan suggests. if it helps... I'm a big fat lad with tits & the comfiest I've found is an old issued rig in the pic, I have a couple of other chest rigs & belt rigs but the FLC I have pulls on my neck when loaded up & the belt rigs are awkward to reach the pouches coz my belly gets in the way. This is my 'go to set up'.

Yeah I would agree but super easy to convert Rob and in doing so you can choose the exact height. @Pseudotectonic I've just ordered some of the Solink Lite 28k budget ones

Honestly we need way more Short Type motor options. There are very few out there and I only use V3 gearboxes!

  19. Consider magazines and ammo though. A Galaxy MP5K with hundreds of rounds of ammo comes in at no more than a gas pistol and a handful of mags. On that, I would rule out the Galaxy if you're looking for exterior quality, as they're thin plastic and built down to a budget (although the internals are fine). I can't speak to the others, I only buy cheap tat.

  23. More than retail value?

  24. I was in the Z1 showroom a couple of months ago (i'm relatively local) - midday on a Saturday. And I was the only customer. Spent 45min in the shop chatting with Alex - no one else came in during that time. I also noticed that they were also renting out parts of their unit (downstairs) to another company. Never a good sign as that was part of their huge warehouse. I think that people forget that Z1 was one of the very first UK online Airsoft retailers. I remember looking at their website as far back as 1999/2000 on the college PCs wishing I had the money to buy to put together a metal body TM build from parts. They had some cool shit in stock back in those days. Sad to see the retail side of things go - but such is life.

  25. A man's lived with his wife for 25 years and all that time he's told her never to look in the safe, but one day the wife gets curious and while he's at the pub has a look. In there she finds £40,000 in cash and three eggs. Upon his return from the pub she asks him about it and he eventually agrees to tell her. "Every time I've slept with another woman I take an egg from the chickens and put it in the safe" Well three affairs in 25 years could be worse she says .... but what about the money? "every time I get a dozen eggs I sell them"

  26. It's a lovely rifle but it's not a ks1 without the key features such as the correct rail , 13.7" barrel and correct muzzle device . With that rail and 14.5" barrel it's a tan SR16E3 but it is very nice

  27. Correct trades on the receiver would imply that this has KS-1 engraved on the upper, which this doesn't, because it's a G&G SR16 E2
