  1. To sum up the law is crazy, you can buy an air rifle or air pistol that looks like a real weapon even though they can do a lot more damage as they are covered by different law.

  2. Radiusing means to file a small curve into the forward end of the gearbox shell where the front part of the cylinder meets the thin part of the shell. A right angle will transfer the stresses caused by the continual pounding of the piston into the weakest part of the gearbox (the front), so causing it to fail. By putting a small curve on the corners you move the stresses into the whole of the front portion, eliminating the weakest point, although it doesn't stop it entirely. The ideal thing is to use a small round metal modelling file to take the sharp corners off the front oblong opening that the cylinder sits in.

  5. Dunno about the modify Torus shell. Looks like a modified copy of the ProWin shells. Bit expensive methinks,if you are going for a pricey shell may as well get a 7075 castnc one.

  7. Our local Army Surplus and 'Outdoor' shop sell some Airsoft guns. He has a two tone 'Dan Wesson' revolver and right next to it a .177 Dan Wesson sold as an Air Pistol without the two tone.

  8. Lonex/ASG ultimate-Very precisely made. Although it's Zamak It's a strong alloy. Good tolerances, reinforced in the right places and cast well. Very popular shell for it's reasonable price, good construction and strength. It's probably the most popular one I know of locally. You can find them in a lot of UK shops, often rebranded under ASG ULTIMATE who also rebrand a load of Lonex parts.Airlab have them for a good price. http://www.air-lab.co.uk/lonex-gearbox-shell-v2.html SHS/PPS/Super Shooter make 'CastNC' shells which are advertised as CNC machined but in Reality are injection molded and finished with CNC just for looks. Made out of 7075 aluminium which is by itself a fair bit stronger than the Zamak used in a lot of shell, although It's probably not heat treated so It is not as strong as an MThaynes or Cradle shell. Bit pricey though. But good quality and popular. http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/super-shooter-7075-cnc-aluminum-ver-2-gearbox-shell.html#.U0rB7PldVN0 JG shells are also quite strong and very very very cheap.Made of Zamak, but again,a strong alloy. Tolerances might be a bit 'off'(But no where near as bad as some CYMA shells I've seen) and some casting burrs about, there may also be some excess material around where the gears sit. However for the price and the strength you cannot complain. http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=searchItem&item=JG-M-134&search=special&rs=Jing%20Gong%20gearbox&catid=&cat=&view_choice=c In the future to prevent cracking,RADIUS YOUR CYLINDER WINDOW CORNERS. This reduces a great amount of stress of the front part of the V2. Also,Correct your angle of engagement on the piston with sorbothane pads. Not only will you help reduce shock on the GB shell but you will also prolong the life of your piston. Don;t use metal piston heads too, they offer no real benefits and only add premature wear.

  9. I've tried MadBull Shark nubs, which are similar to H nubs, just more curved, and they caused massive overhop with everything, in every gun I tried. My L96 was throwing .4s behind me nearly.

  10. You should be able to stretch the rubber outer away from the lenses a bit to pry them out, when you put another lense in line up the ridges before popping it in.Shouldn't be glue on anything except the foam filters which you should just pull out, they don't do anything except hinder airflow if you're not in a desert.

  11. It's not really that grey an area. You have a defence if you can fulfill BOTH of these criteria: 1. Over 18 (applies to purchase of, as far as we can tell under 18s can manufacture, provided they fulfill the rest of the requirements) 2. Play at a site with at least 3rd party public liability insurance. 3. You can prove beyond reasonable doubt that you play at said site regularly. This is best done with online bookings, photos of you at the events etc. For a forum sale try to get their UKARA number and phone a shop to check it. It's a 30 second job and makes sure that you are on the safe side of things. If you can't find anyone that will do it phone Patrol Base and we will check for you. If they can prove they are over 18, then photos of them at an event, or calling their site manager should be fine. Firearms Certificates (again, not a license) Shotgun certificates or being in the Military/Police etc are NOT defenses for purchasing RIFs

  12. With all it's wooden sexiness I often wish I could afford an SRC Mp41. If there was one airsoft gun that would look good mounted on the wall this is it. I am resisting because I know this would cause me to need a German loadout. Now though I have discovered that they have gone one stage better and supplied it as a special edition in a wooden crate with extra mags, mag pouches, leather sling etc.

  13. I prefer the look of the steel folding stock. With the wood it looks like one of those narsty Italian prototype ripoffs of Czech prototypes that you find in books about the development of automatic weapons

  14. The thing to understand, NH Shooter, is that a UKARA registration is not a licence. You do not have to have it in order to legally own an RIF. It is simply a database which allows retailers to check that they are not committing an offence by selling to you.

  15. When you buy the gun it's yours. 'UKARA' is just a way for the retailers to check that you are a regular skirmisher and have a defence for buying a RIF. When you have it it's yours, you don't need a permit, a UKARA or anything else to own it.

  18. So for my birthday I was blessed with a WE Glock 17 Gen 4 aswell as a bunch of RA Tech internals ^-^ I couldn't be happier with it for a first gbb sidearm. Although, i get very bored with the externals easily. And with no money, I spend alot of time tinkering with it in the workshop or laser engraving it! Here she is day one: And here she is today:

Played with this today, and oh wow it is good. Amusing outranging guns that cost 10-15x as much. Oh and it is unbelievably loud with BB's exiting the amplifier, got a call over the radio from a marshall on the other end of the site "You sure that's loud enough mate?"
