Airsofting Wristwatches

Bit of a miscellaneous one, But I've recently gained a bit of an interest in wristwatches. Just wondering what (if at all) watches do you lot field while playing?

I've seen a lot of interesting picks for watches that can handle a BB or two, I've seen a lot of people that wing it and wear any regular-wear watch, And I've seen many that opt to not wear one at all from BB incident experience.

I like to field my Casio G-shock while playing, It's a little bulky, But is absolutely bomb-proof. Veeery thick front glass. Some dude I saw last month had a lineup of F-91Ws, Had already lost one to a BB, Just replaces 'em everytime they get shot. Good thing they're cheap.

I tend to wear my usual every day watch, not had it shot out yet but figure I would have to be really unlucky to have it damaged by a bit of plastic.

I wear either my Apple Watch or no watch.  When I wear the Apple Watch I wear it on the inside of my left wrist so its face is against the gun when shouldered.  I don’t wear it for indoor CQB, as it’s very up close and personal, I don’t even use an optic as I’ve seen to many shot out.

Any particular reason you want a watch while playing, or you just like having one on?

I wear a cheap digital watch that I bought about 20 years ago.  I am not sure why I wear one; it is probably just habit.

A part of my brain just really likes knowing the time all the time.

Plus, I find it super useful for keeping track of how long's left of the current round, And Its come in handy when coordinating with teammates in a milsim once.

I wear a Garmin Instinct 2, it tends to be covered by the cuff of my gloves or sleeves. 
 

No massive concerns with it being damaged, it survived being knocked about hooking up cars in my last job and a few Milsims since.

Fair enough. Having never worn one, i just use my phone instead and typically have it with me in games too.

I have not worn a watch this century, and probably not since the late 80s

 

I would wear watches on the inside of my left wrist, but not for the reason @Basersaid - which does make sense.

When I was motorcycling the inside left was convenient to look at my watch by moving my wrist and the display would appear from under my glove.

(My real reason though was because as a kid I saw someone in a film wear theirs

like that so decided it was cool)

 

Since changing to car from bike there would be a clock in the car and whenever I needed to know the time there was a clock around somewhere - (no need to have a thing attached to my wrist - until trying a magnetic band with old age)

Nowadays my watch/clock is my phone

(I have also used my phone in game)

 

On occasion I’ve had mini watch sized clock faces stuck on a piece of equipment for a timer etc

 

 

A good old basic watch or a chunky like G Shocks would survive the general

vigour of a game

For airsofting I used to wear my old Soviet vintage Vostok Kommandirskie but they have packed up.  My everyday wear is an Omega Seamaster 300M Professional and there is no fucking way I am wearing that at airsoft LOL

I just wear my every day watch which at the moment is a timex explorer. It does the job and wasn't expensive so I won't be too annoyed if it does take a hit.

 

It's usually covered by my sleeve but for extra piece of mind I move it to inside my wrist, which has the added bonus of making it easier to see while shouldering a rifle

That's just normal, that's just being a human over the age of about 6. Or even if not necessarily 'knowing' the exact time 24/7 with a constant update, just always having the ability to very very quickly access it (and the date).

 

Pretty sure 6 was when I learnt how to tell the time on an analogue clock in school anyway. Parents got me a watch not too long after I think.

 

Granted, I am probably very bias on account of having to fill out paperwork many times a day that often require times and dates input in many places, and being late for anything is one of the worst possible sins.

Apple watch - not worried about it getting shot out, as its taken many a hit at this point without having it happen - if it does, its insured for accidental damage anyway.

Much like my airsoft guns, I just grab whatever cheap disposable Chinese-made tat comes to hand first in the morning.

 

Actually true, I like buying Chinese standard movement watches from AliExpress, sometimes to disassemble.

 

One day I'll manage to re-assemble one.

Same, I use a GW6900 when I play. It's tough and reasonably cheap if I did have to replace it!

I just wear my wife's old fitbit. Small, fairly hardly glass and use it as HR tracker and stopwatch for timing the games.

As a watchmaker I can advice not to wear a very expensive watch ?

 

I run a cheap casio, it's quartz so very accurate and if it gets shot out it's a tenner to replace (at least mine was £10 from ebay)

I mostly don’t bother as I have my phone in a protective pouch in front of my PC

I did occasionally wear my Apple Watch, but I got annoyed when I was in a tight situation and had my wrist bent back while firing and inadvertently long pushed the button making it want to call the emergency services ?

Wore my GMTII Batman a couple of times, but I stopped that pretty quickly ??‍♂️

I wear my Apple Watch and use a protective plastic cover. 
 

I like tracking Airsoft as a workout! Get a great sense of how many calories you can burn and heart rates

I wear one of these . Easy to read on the go and cheap enough to not care if it comes a cropper.

I never wear a watch these days, I'm a butcher so haven't worn a watch for hygiene reasons (at work) for over 40 years so never been in the habit of wearing one (still get the odd birthday or xmas pressie watch from family members that have NEVER seen me wear one). These days I use my phone for the time & in game  I either move forward with the rest of the slowpokes & wait for the whistle or whoops when the target is taken/overrun.

I wear this for airsoft.  It is old and a bit crap, but it does the job, rather like its owner.
