Blimey here’s a topic which will cause much debate. But let me start with one at least.  Oh, any pistol should reach out to 30m stock. It’s what happens after this where the fun begins

1. TM MK23 SOCOM pistol. A non blow back affair. Stock it’s great out of the box. But  with a few minor upgrades it will hit out pretty far. Better than most aegs too circa 50m and beyond.

as above TM MK23 is the best after that any of the recent double stack TM GBBs will perform roughly the same. range is dependent on temperature and BB weight.

that's a question with no limit to the number of answers.

some pistols are very good out of the box, some might need a little tweaking, some might be hopeless without serious re-work.

however as a general rule if we exclude the outliers most pistols can either shoot or be made to shoot further than most people will really be able to make use of the range.

It's not so much how far it will shoot it's more about how accurate it is and if there is enough energy for it to be felt.

Having the wind behind you will help and having wind in front of you will hinder. If you shot downwards from top of Ben Nevis it would go for thousands of feet!

I'll shut up now.🤭

Unfortunately you can get two pistols of the same make and model and they often won't perform the same

The fuck are these "top 5" lists for?

Anything TM, especially the Mk23.

The average range of a stock pistol (not counting TMs nor MK23s) is the same as a stock rifle/carbine (a 1J pistol has the same range of a 1J rifle, change my mind).

But Japanese kinetic energy is better than Taiwanese kinetic energy ;)

Can anyone break down the top five pistols in terms of how far their range is?

What the average range of a gas pistol?

As said differently above, all standard airsoft guns of equal power and the same energy source will have very similar outright range.

But I think what you are actually asking is... Top five pistols in terms of their EFFECTIVE RANGE.

Longest range that is accurate.

Can hit a person, not just a barn door!

TOP 3 Pistols

1: TM MK23 non blowback

2: TM HK45 blowback

2: TM FNX blowback

2: ASG CZ Shadow

3: Most other TM blowbacks

The average range of these guns is around 50-55M standard.

I don’t care.

The only pistol I’ve accurately ranged is the TM FNX

On green gas, with 0.4’s, and no modifications at all, about 21°C

air temp,  no wind, 65m, torso sized grouping, 80m maximum range.

Measured manually and with a range finder, not guessed airsoft metres 😂

All TM pistols I've owned have performed fantastically. Even my 1911 can cycle through at least half a mag in the dead of winter on green gas while all those red gas using WE pistols are failing to cycle.

Every TM pistol I have fires accurately to at least 40m with .25s (talking 9/10 shots hit on a man-size target). The mk23 goes to about 60m with .4s because it's stupid.

I have a TM 1911, mk23, p226 and M&P9L. They're all fantastic pieces of kit, and that's coming from someone who has to use their sidearm a lot thanks to a pesky thing called a minimum engagement distance.

It's a pistol, it only needs to shoot the med if you have one.

Yes I have an mk23 that can flick a 0.4 further then my buddies 416 A5 (much to my glee).

Yep same as mine.

Have done the TDC mod but not the crazy jet barrel.

Best part is that I can use it in the garden without the neighbours panicking and the squirrels dont know what hit em.lol

But yes the MK23 with the suppressor is perfect for that ‘leisure activity’ 😂

That reminds my my bits arrived from Skirmshop and I need to apply the mods.
