TBH at this stage, and as I have said many times before, just ban these guys they are OBVIOUSLY acting as dealers.

Agreed. These people contribute ⅘ of bugger all to the forum and only use it to rip people off. Here's another example if it was needed

As I’ve said before, all these chancers need is one poor old chump who hasn’t done his homework and boom it’s sold way over priced.

It’s the same old game of cast the reel and hope for a bite being played here.

"£250 Paypal fees and postage included"

"Shipment cost 5 GBP"

It might be fun to embed the results of a Google or airsoftdb search into listings...

1) Seller watched a YouTube video and thought spending more money ensures you get the best gun

2) Seller gets fed up after blowing £1500 on a custom RIF built to his spec and putting 5,000 BBs through it

3) Seller tries to sell his custom gun for £1200, thinking he's doing us a favour when:

  • He's only reselling the gun minus VAT
  • He had the gun built to his specifications so unless he finds that unlikely buyer who wants exactly what he has or something really close to his build, it's not even close to worth that/

4) Seller gets ridiculed on a WhatsApp sales group and doesn't understand only putting 5,000 rounds through his gun doesn't mean it preserves the value he thinks.

TLDR: Another Bolster Armouries special doesn't meeting the seller's expectations on trying to resell it

Starting with the G&G SR15 E3 AEG, a licenced replica of the Knights Armament Company SR15 with superb quality core parts [...] almost none of the G&G internal parts remain; everything found to be suboptimal has been removed and replaced

Just buy a TM recoil and replace all the parts!

I bought a TM recoil 417 and am currently waiting on the mortgage for its upgrades to be approved.

He must've realised all of us calling out his last sales posts means he won't sell anything so he's relisted them

Hey guys, I've had 3 reports regarding respect & bullying, while I think some members bring it on themselves with their absurd prices, the forum rules are fairly specific about respect & perceived bullying, something that can't be tolerated.

There is only one thread where sales threads from anywhere can be discussed, & if needed, the piss ripped out of them, WITHIN REASON, & that thread is here, on Macks.

On this occasion I'm not going to issue warnings to anyone, but I will ask you all to familiarise yourselves with the rules, especially the snippets below which seem especially relevant here.

I will also speak to the reportee, who needs to be aware there is generally "no smoke without fire", & he's definitely fanning the flames lol.

Be nice to other forum users
Treat others as you would like to be treated to yourself. There is absolutely no need to be abusive on these forums. If you are then your posts / topics will be edited or deleted, you may be given a warning, you may get your account suspended, and persistent offenders will be banned.

Be Constructive
If you don't have something constructive to add to a thread then don't post at all. This applies especially in the "Classifieds" section, if you have something to say, PM it to the seller. Comments like "good luck with the sale" or "nice gun" are also not appreciated.

Thread bashing/trolling
There will be some posts or threads in the forum that you may not like. If you dislike somebody's thread or some of the people participating in the discussion simply don't bother reading or replying to it. Posting/trolling in it with the sole purpose of having it closed (bashing) will not be tolerated.

While the above is true, there also has to be some control over Classifieds asking prices to protect new buyers being ripped-off.  (This is a form of fraud)

To retain any sense of credibility, Classifieds needs monitoring otherwise it could degenerate into a farce resembling 'other' sites.

Definitely,  but if people are going to comment directly on a thread, it needs to be polite, & ideally informative with a retailer link to the item.

Unfortunately what some of the older members used to consider "banter", now has serious connotations irl, which of course the snowflakes are all over it.

Agreed.  Just a link to current price should be enough.

But... I think clearly extortionate sales should be officially removed to keep things under control.

Feeling under-appreciated here, some of us newbies can be cunts too, it's not just the older members having all the fun!

Seriously though, i do wonder how some people would cope in a typical blue collar workplace. At most places i've worked (motor trade) the banter is pretty abusive. 😂

We can't police the forums and then Google every price according to the adverts posted here, we have jobs and lives

We're also adults and Google has been about since 1998, we can't hold everyone's hand

If I'm buying something second hand I always Google it, people should too

@Tackleif we are going to apply the letter of the law, how about we apply the rule on no shops/professional sellers? Its obvious this guy is trying to operate as one not a legitimate private seller selling some of his gear/RIFS

I can get much more cuntish, this isnt even alpha level lol

Have i not seen your final form

There are thousands of members doing the policing to bring up potential offenders.  So shouldn't take too much time to deal with.  (Or should there be more moderators)

Yes, of course most of us can spot a dodgy advert but if they go completely unchecked the Classifieds section could turn into a farce and lose the reputation of a serious place to deal with sales/purchases.

I've given my 2p so I'll leave it at that

think the way i'd put it is that in macks, the seller has to come in here and actively engage the criticism.

sometimes they come in and engage respectfully, even meshing with the banter, and everyone has a good time.

sometimes they come in and try to fight, and get ripped on, and everyone but them has a good time.

but mostly they just ignore the thread entirely.

commenting on the sales post gives them nowhere to run, and as much as i agree that it makes the criticism more directly accessible for a buyer at risk of being ripped off, at the end of the day if a buyer does any kind of due diligence they'll either find the macks post or simply other information (eg ads, even completed ones, with different prices), and is it really our responsibility to guard people who won't take any steps to guard themselves?
