For me, it's because it's easier to say to the wife:

"I've just ordered a new part for my rifle"
    Instead of
"I've just bought a new gun"

She'd go livid if I kept buying guns.
Upgrading the existing gun is good for keeping her sweet.

Plus I'm well happy with my rifle since ditching the standard barrel and hop unit for a Prometheus/Prowin combo, so I don't need a new rifle just yet (saving my pennies for a TM Recoil mind...). Just could do with a better spring in the Specna and it'd be perfect.

No, I'm not trying to get people to send pets via Royal Mail (they would never allow it!).
This thread is simply a shameless excuse to show off our fluffy/scaley loved ones.

Introducting Luna, my Mastiff/Staff mix. :-)

Also have snake and a horse that are my fiancé's, but Luna is the best IMHO.
The funny thing is that I used to be terrified of dogs until I got her.

To clarify, and from personal experience, in relation to singing (a cadence) when doing a squaded run or tabbing just meant we had to run/move quicker because we had spare energy if we could sing. However, agree that on ops people singing while travelling or off duty as it is a good boost to personal/team morale.

Not dangerous...? I regularly get category 3 boo-boo's, nettles are abundant across most Woodland sites, and a bad fall can put your knee out for decades.
Not too nerdy...? Have you listened to safezone conversations?
Very social...? Haven't seen what Airsofters do to the only porta-loo on a game day have you? Social creatures they aint.
Fitness based...? Most of my games are an hour long tops at most as people need to get a good sit down, cuppa tea and a drag on their roll-up or a puff on their vape...
So to answer your question - probably not...

But to answer your question again - yes - it's all of those things . Airsoft is largely a sport that gives you what you put in.

A lot of the time retailers wouldn't know or care about compatibility, like baz mentioned I have seen plenty of websites not just airsoft ones list the bare minimum of info clearly copied and pasted from a foreign manufacturer as spelling and wording makes little sense (much like my posts) with an almost disregard to the item itself. It does make me think I dont want the item as often it doesn't tell you what you need to know.
And yeah we could ask them, but many a time its some numpty with no clue telling you to refer to the description or unable to find out as they dont speak Chinese.

I guess thats why sites such as uktactical do so well as instead of stocking the same old from everyone else and having a crappy website chocked full of random parts with no info (wolf armouries) they do a limited selection and do it well.

The closest Ive come to any joined up thinking is Airsoft World who do put some notes on their products, to guide, which at least shows some level of thought. Mind you, I did buy a short grenade launcher from them, only to find it didnt allow TAG rounds to load and I had to get the long one.

I told AW about this so they could put a warning note on to save people making the same mistake but they havent, which is silly especially when they are TAG distributors.

Ive come to the conclusion that a lot of the airsoft industry is still developing from a hobbyist make and mend stage and has a lot of growing up to do.

A lot of the things Ive mentioned dont cost anything in real terms but require a little thought and care. If a retailer sells a x4 flip down magnifier and a range of EoTech clone holographic sights, how hard is it to put a note on the magn to say this will line up with product X, Y and Z. I have to believe that suppliers dont care enough because they are already selling.

It just needs an entrepreneur to sweep the board and differentiate themselves.

When you buy online, you lose certain abilities to visually check stuff and interact with a knowledgeable sales person and although You Tube reviews are often useful, I dont think UK retailers of parts and accessories do enough. Fair enough on a £10 item, but one supplier is selling a £175 optic with nothing more than some words copied off the makers website. I would expect a bit more input otherwise I might as well buy it in Hong Kong and take a risk at less £££s. I wouldnt mind but the UK trade complain that players buying abroad are killing the UK retail. If they dont use their position to advantage, what do they expect ?

In days gone by, my pouches needed to be filled - otherwise it'd be silly having so many - so I was running with 9 Hi-caps.
While I generally never needed more than 3/4 at most before returning to the safe zone, one game I was the last player on a timed defence game - no medic/re-spawn, unlimited enemy lives...
I was on my last mag when I was finally hit - it was a tale of a last stand immortalised in song and interpretative dance.

It's preference, one thing I'd say though is that if you like hi caps, before you get too attached to the spinny wheel things on the bottom, get a flash mag or two (google it) - they're the future, but some players still seem skeptical.

As it was sept 2015, I think you have up to 6 YEARS worth of some cover under the Sale of Goods Act, but whether you'd get a full refund - pass.

    http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/sale-of-goods-act

As a suggestion though, only refer to the seller as The Bunker - not some dude called Ray. The rights you have differ depending on whether a retailer vs. a private seller sold it you - I think.

They are all basically the same tbh - same gearbox hop etc.....
it really comes down to style & personal choice in the end.....

Raider is good - sometimes think they should of done a Medium Raider at 300mm
The Short might be a tad too short if the specs of 233mm are to be believed
and Long at 357mm is a little on the large size for my ideal length - though whats a couple of inches I tell Mrs Duck
Dust cover has to pull down manually on Raider - but really not a massive deal tbh as some make out

The entry Carbine is ok but you got Raider with rails - always worth that few quid more imho
Though they do a 300mm carbine light version which would be nicer in tighter spaces
(again this is just my take as I like the look of about 300mm and extend if I choose with a stfu suppressor or something)

FireHawk is nice for close up cqb but not best suited for woodland plus gets very annoying in echoy tight spaces

I like the CM18 still with its 2-tone look I reckon - same sights as FireHawk, comes with a 120rnd midcap and hmm not fan of flash hider
but still a nice looking gun - just about see where maybe the £30 extra over a Raider went I guess....

The 30th GC16 & GC26 - prefer the GC16 but they are both front wired but a very good buy at the time for what you was getting
They were metal/part metal receivers where as the others were polymer combat machines but light to carry round for younger/weak old players

The ETU stuff is flawed - I firmly believe that but it will be ok to run on 11.1v lipo if you keep her stock as it will only just hit 18 to 20rps max

All same stuff inside, 8mm bronze bushings will wear, gears should be ok - just the recent stuff seem to have badly made/treated gears inside
You can get fairly decent compression on stock piston & piston head but likes a stretched o-ring in there rather than the small green o-ring
It isn't that bad inside the box - the ETU one I'm re-doing is just a recent bad build imho where I think the changed/cut corners a bit
plus gotta replace switch/selector - cut off lever coz I was being ultra fussy and wasn't happy with loose one G&G fitted with lots of play in FFR A2

The cylinder head isn't that bad of a seal - kept the stock one so far just did AoE
SHS red nozzle - might be a little whisker too long for some boxes but seems same size as G&G black nozzle 21.5mm
The std M4 grip will struggle for thick wire like 16awg so that low resistance silver wire is best unless you like using your dremmel
Fire-Storm or F-Storm mosfet or Gate pico baby type mosfet
SHS torque motor coz 18k G&G is lame - very lame
should get you near 20 rps on 7.4v

Thing is do you spend time/money on redoing it or buy another £150 G&G
or give him your old G&G - whoaaahhh easy there

Just saying - nigh on all the G&G's are same inside regardless of price - except for pbb exceptions but still similar in many ways
Gun upgrades/repairs/tweaks - always begs the question how far do you go...
A few tweaks, a bit of upgrade, or total revamp inside & out - ergh keep it in perspective it is just a Raider....
No point going too nutz or you may as well buy Hef's bad boy instead

Mega waffle - I like the CM18 still as nice sexy looking all rounder type of gun - though tbh this is more the look than anything else
They are all the same as a £117 Carbine really - just tarty front ends if truth be told is what you pay extra for

And then the nearest site is the other side of Wales I believe. Wales is a bitch to travel through xD. Due to work I cant play anyway but if I could here I would have to rely on the university soc to get there and back.
