  1. If you play a lot of CQB then a helmet is a wise investment. Plus it stops you having to explain the welts on your fore head to friends/the boss/the other half and anyone else who's curious. For woodland though I prefer a boonie hat or cap - just because it's more comfortable. Anyway, welcome to the hobby and forums!
  2. I just turn up extra early to my local sites and just start zeroing in the game zone. Helps if you sort mags/gas out before you go just in case you need a bit more time to get your sights sorted. Or you could try contacting a local gun club/archery club about using their ranges? Or a friend who has a really big garden.
  3. #Bolshforlife Yeah I can second what Monkee has said - internal events (like the Bolsh ones) are always more relaxed since everyone already knows each other.
  4. Guns: In hard cases or boxes under the bed... Or in bits on my work desk. Gear: Has it's own dedicated set of drawers and shelf in my wardrobe. Ghillie Suit: In the shed for a very good reason.
  5. Just acquired this for my collection. Swapped it for my AK as I was after something more compact for CQB games. It's a Classic Army P90: Going to be my new project gun. I intend to turn into a CQB beast
  6. Nah I can't mate - back to work now so Sunday was my last free weekend to go airsofting
  7. I already had the Vz61 - it's the KWA/KSC GBB version. If you were at the gaol this weekend you might have ran into it. Here's the scope mount/ring: http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/321831852823
  8. 30mm Triple Rail Scope Mount £8.99 Mass Effect "N7 Armour" Tshirt £23.15 (including shipping from the US) The scope mount is going to be used to add extra rails to my vz61 by attaching it around the front barrel section. Gives me room for a flashlight, fore grip (as I hate gripping the magazine) and either a red dot sight or a laser (most likely). The N7 shirt is to replace my current one that I use in CQB as it has got to ragged to wear. Plus I absolutely love the Mass Effect game series.
  9. If it's the 80s then it just has to be this:
  10. The one I personally use is this: http://www.leesprecision.com/collections/external-parts/products/cnc-machined-16mm-to-14mm-ccw-thread-adapter But any +16mm to -14mm adapter should work the same.
  11. Any spring weapon will be fine in cold or wet conditions - just buy a shotgun. Or an mk23 - had no issues with mine over the winter months.
  12. Avon Skin So Soft Dry Oil Spray £3.39 for 150ml bottle. Fully intend to see if it works as a mosquito repellent and at such a low price it's got to be worth a shot.
  13. Ares WA2000 sniper rifle - I just love the look of this gun and I'm surprised there hasn't been more demand for a cheaper and more readily available version of this. CYMA M14 EBR - Would turn it into one of two projects. Either a dedicated DMR platform or a sub 350 fps yet highly accurate rifle. Second one would be most likely since I'd like to keep the option for full auto. Tokyo Marui AA-12 - When it's eventually released. This gun looks awesome though I'll want to know the retail price before I say "yes" for sure. Ares Vz58 - Or a cheaper clone of this gun preferably. I really want them to release a version with the classic wooden furniture though as I'm not much of a fan of the black furniture it comes with. Or I'll just buy real steel furniture and adapt it like I did with my vz61. Only problem with these guns is I have a lack of space to store them. Some of my other guns would have to be sold first to make room.
  14. Now now guys! He's named it so obviously that makes it worth the extra £130
  15. Glad I'm not the only one that caught that
  16. I assume it's this one you're looking at? (Or a similar one anyway) http://www.airsoftworld.net/jg-ingram-mac-10-aeg-submachine-gun-with-silencer.html You're looking around 240-260 (average) on a good day after a thorough barrel clean. My mate has two that he dual wields at CQB sites - a lot of fun to use though (speaking from experience) but don't expect much from it.
  17. Nah I meant how well the scope held it's zero mate. Some cheaper scopes lose the zero after a while you see so I was curious to see how this one fared.
  18. How true is that :/ Related learning point: if someone is new to sniping with a high fps set up they likely won't know what 30 metres is for their minimum engagement distance. Expect some very painful hits from very close ranges. Learnt this from experience when a young lad (~13 years old) shot me in the head from 10 metres away. After I stopped cursing a marshal was informed and the lad had to ditch his rifle when he couldn't prove that he knew what 30 metres was. He was disappointed but the safety rules are there for a reason.
  19. The scope you've listed, have you zeroed it? If so how well does it hold it? Might grab one for myself as I like that style of reticule.
  20. This. I run a 300 fps bolt in my rifle when I fancy a challenge at a CQB site or want to be really quiet at a woodland site. As long as your hop is set correctly you can still be pretty effective with a lower fps rifle. Added bonus you have no minimum engagement distance on a sub 350 fps set up. Can be very handy if spotted. Edit: Plus with a weaker spring you can cycle the bolt faster/easier. Very useful for quick follow up shots.
  21. I only wash my sniper rifle BBs. Just to remove the grease that comes on them so it doesn't instead rub off going through the hop up. Soak in diet coke for fifteen minutes, another fifteen in soapy water and then left to air dry on a towel. It's easier and quicker cleaning the BBs in one go rather than disassembling/cleaning the hop up after every game day.
  22. I've been booked in for this one since Josh announced it. Will definitely try and get a lot of pictures taken for you guys
  23. Stays locked in the car most of the time unless I'm expecting a call in which case I keep it in a shirt pocket under my chest rig/vest. Obviously with the screen facing my body. Also helps I have a cheap flip cover on it that is made of a very sturdy leather - unlikely to be broken by a BB.
  24. A proper tropical woodland/jungle with dense foliage leading to very CQB firefights. Also some clearings with structures in here and there to play capture/defend games. Think the jungle setting from the first predator film.
  25. I tend to wear boonie hats and caps more than helmets in CQB but that's a choice I make about comfort over protection. You still feel the hits as if you weren't wearing one (especially with a boonie) but I've never had one leave an obvious mark to my skin even from close ranges. But helmets are a better choice - especially if you play in darker indoor sites. More than a few times I've knocked my head on something solid.
