  1. I run an olive ex French army surplus plate carrier that you can pick up for around £35. They also come in black. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/201072951765?nav=SEARCH&varId=500254168128 Plenty of space on it, quite sturdy and also very cheap. That leaves you £65 to kit it out with pouches and accessories
  2. I shall sit on the other side of that door and wait for Mr Delivery Man to turn up so I can sign for it haha Seriously, let us know how you get on. Been eyeing it up myself but couldn't justify the cost (yet).
  3. Royal Mail/Parcelforce for me - I declare it as an airsoft rifle and have had no refusals as they can ship them according to their rules on prohibited items. So long as it's not a gas gun or contain batteries they can ship it. Or at least they used to. Haven't sold a gun in a while so it's worth checking their policies before shipping it. Edit: I've also had issues with UKMail and Yodel. Both companies have either broke, lost or tried to deliver to the wrong address on most of my orders I've had sent to me through them - even from retailers.
  4. I found out about airsoft from a group of guys I used to play Call of Duty with regularly (I can hear the cries of "FFS another CoD noob!" already haha). Did some research into it and was hooked from the first few videos I watched. Ending up buying a cheap trishot as I wanted the cheapest okay/decent gun I could buy and about nine shells for it. First game I ever went to was at The Embassy in Leicester (sadly now closed). Got shot to hell and outgunned often but I absolutely loved it since it reminded me of Call of Duty when I would run a "crap gun" instead of a more powerful one to give myself a challenge. Kept at it and nowadays I can happily say that I can hold my own against AEG users with my trusty shotgun! ...so long as I see them first
  5. Call me a purist but never really been a fan of optics on a shotgun. Looks good though (despite the optics).
  6. If that second story is true then well played mate haha
  7. I haven't met an airsofter that wasn't influenced by shooting games even a little bit. It's good for the sport even if people complain about the kids who come expecting it to be like CoD (very much a minority) - I just consider them as target practice or canon fodder depending on if they're on my team or not haha
  8. ^ Kinda defeats the point of having a "Russian loadout" but if that's what you like then more power to you. Anyway, on topic. Welcome to the forum and airsofting in general mate! Be prepared to spend a lot of money as proper Russian kit can either be dirt cheap or jaw droppingly expensive. An interesting loadout you've chosen so I've taken the plunge and looked for some of the bits you'll want. AK mag pouches: http://frontowiec.com/index.php?p1453,2-ak-magazine-pouch-molle Dump pouch: http://frontowiec.com/index.php?p3784,dump-pouch-for-magazines-black Large pouch on side of rig could either be this: http://frontowiec.com/index.php?p3791,pg-molle-pouch-black Or this in black: http://frontowiec.com/index.php?p1653,pkm-2-pouch-molle The helmet I'm pretty certain (someone correct me if I'm wrong) is a regular PASGT with velcro and NV mounts added to it. Here's a plain one: http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/141453048269 Grenade pouch on belt could either be this: http://www.military1st.co.uk/1436b-maxpedition-double-frag-grenade-pouch-black.html Or a black version of this: http://frontowiec.com/index.php?p1456,1-hand-grenade-pouch-molle The problem with a lot of video game loadouts is the game designers choose things for how they look rather than if they actually exist. You're lucky that this one you've chosen has a lot of bits that can be replicated with either Russian or Western kit - giving you more source options whilst retaining the SF look you are going for.
  9. "Badger" backpack in Digital Flora pattern Face mask in Digital Flora pattern £34 (discounted) for both (not including shipping) from Grey Shop in Russia
  10. Or you can use mesh goggles like I do with a half face mask, no issues at all with fogging up. Shooting glasses are another option but they aren't fully sealed so you run the risk of having a BB ricochet into your eye.
  11. Decided to repaint my baby (again!). Here she is next to my MK23: Now I don't have to wrap her in so much burlap, just a little bit around the scope/bolt and the end of the barrel is enough.
  12. Well with your collection you have plenty to choose from, found a new place to hide them from the missus yet?
  13. To be fair a lot of accuracy/shot consistency gains can be had by doing cheap DIY mods like Teflon wrapping the hop chamber, doing a TDC (Top dead Centre) mod to your hop up and adding barrel spacers to the gun. Not going to suddenly be shooting the wings off a fly with it but you will have some noticeable gains. Or just buy a TM VSR and keep it stock - very effective within it's range and has no minimum engagement distance. Also regular/proper cleaning and maintenance go a long way to helping with a sniper rifle or any airsoft gun.
  14. A purchase you will not regret. Is it stock or upgraded?
  15. I only aim for the head when they don't feel the first six shots... Or if I'm sniping and that's all I can see/shoot at.
  16. Surprisingly enough, no haha. She spent way more on MTB bikes and gear than I ever would on Airsoft lol All my injuries were over the course of the last two years. The broken fingers was the worst since I had to ditch my rifle and run just pistol all day. I had paid my £35, I was determined to get my monies worth lol! (Though the ex really was pissed after that injury haha)
  17. Been shot in both testicles, several blood blisters, broken two fingers on my left hand and probably some more injuries I can't remember.
  18. I have tan patches with my surname on so they stand out more on my green gear.
  19. Sorry I have to disagree with that statement. You don't need to fork out that much money to get a decent rifle with a good shot consistency. My rifle has cost me less than £160~ in parts with both accuracy and consistency within it's effective range. Also if you upgrade everything imaginable then you can actually run the risk of having your rifle loose consistency or accuracy. I'm not looking to start an argument, but that amount just struck me as ridiculous. On topic: Mr B hit the nail on the head. A sniper rifle isn't an ideal starter platform but it can be done if you have the patience to stick it out. A stock Tokyo Marui VSR will set you back £190-£200 but is a brilliant weapon out of the box. However it has a low fps so your range won't be on par with a properly tuned rifle but it will at the very least be skirmishable. Additionally due to it's low fps you won't have to worry about minimum engagement distances.
  20. All of these are in stock right now: Tokyo Marui VSR: http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?products_id=1837 http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-vsr10-pro-sniper-rifle http://airsoftzone.co.uk/vsr-10-pro-sniper-spring-rifle-tokyo-marui?filter_name=Vsr http://bombupairsoft.co.uk/products/tokyo-marui-vsr-10-g-spec Tokyo Marui L96 AWS: http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?products_id=5317 http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-l96aws-black-stock-sniper-rifle
  21. In Japan they have a strict fps limit of 1joule so airsoft guns from companies based there (like Tokyo Marui) always shoot around that figure. Cloned rifles from China and other countries have no such limits so are often a lot higher.
  22. If you go for an AWS style rifle be careful of the c clip that holds the loading ramp/plate in place. They're very fragile. Other than that it's an awesome gun with a lot of potential even if it is bloody huge! Like others have said TM's VSR is one of the best sniper rifles you'll buy out of the box. If you want an upgrade platform though then any clone rifle would be cheaper and just as good depending on what you want to upgrade. I acquired my base gun (a Well MB02) off an internet seller for £10 as the trigger was broken. Since then I've fixed it up and it shoots beautifully costing me less than £150 (so far) in upgrades though I'm constantly tweaking it.
  23. Can of Krylon spray paint in Olive Drab and a bottle of WE Nuprol .32g BBs from Patrolbase Trying a new type of ammo in my sniper rifle as I'm struggling wih my current black ammo to see if it makes it to target. Also intend to respray said rifle to match my local outdoor site's scenery. Thinking a black/tan/olive vertical tiger stripe pattern is in order
  24. I'm on about the ASG Franchi Tactical shotgun mate, not the CYMA one you have.
