  1. No, a longer barrel won't change much, a high quality one may give you slightly better results. Check out prometheus. As for hop rubbers, you need to Suck it and see. Try some and see what works. Madbull blue.,g&g green and stock TM ones are all good.
  2. There's only so much you can expect from any AEG. You are flinging a plastic ball after all. The rule of diminishing returns definitely applies with AEG upgrades.

Is that 95 airsoft metres? E.G 50 actual metres. What kind of barrels do they have? What's the fps and is it consistant?
  4. I agree. I think the point BrightCandle was making is that using a 7.4 in a AEG with a FET because your afraid to use an 11.1 for fear of blowing the FET is a bit silly. I tend to combine 11.1s (with a FET), 13:1 gears and a very slow, very high torque motor such as a JG blue to get ridiculous trigger response and good but not silly ROF (~22rps).
  5. This is true. If you particularly like the top techs (I think they are good AEGs, although I think the blowback feature is entirely a gimmick and makes maintenance and upgrading a pain in the arse and that there are better AEGs for the money), and you want to run 11.1s on it and don't want to worry about the FET blowing, either get a gen 2 and stick a FET in it (I too would recommend the Gate Pico) or replace the the stock one in the gen 3.
  6. Yeah, gen 3 top techs. You should be OK. If you want to be extra careful, dont run high C rated 11.1s.
  7. Im in West London. My regular site is Tech Brigade but sometimes go to UCAP Sandpit and Urban Assault. My next game will be the IA500. Wouldnt mind checking out some other sites though.
  8. Did you do both chromo measurements with the hop fully off?
  9. I'd say your upgrades are mostly unnecessary. The motor is a good choice but otherwise a slightly uprated spring and steel bushings is all you need. Tbh if you slapped all that stuff in it your likely to make a mess if this is you 1st proper AEG.
  10. You kind of answered your own question. Recoil Shock guns are more fiddly to take down/modify/repair due to the way the recoil system works and the number of parts involved (over a standard AEG). Just be careful and methodical and you should be fine.
  11. At my home site, the regular players don't really team up in any real sense. The organisers will pick the teams for each game and do a reasonable job of mixing up experienced players and noobs (and ensuring equal numbers of snipers). For the most part games come down to the team can organise and motivate itself winning. The blokes their are generally very friendly and will talk to anyone.
  12. Yep the Lonex drop in gearboxes are about the best ones you can get off the shelf. Personally I would be wary of pushing it too fast as the Lonex red piston is very heavy (compared to say an SHS blue) and has bearings, making it even heavier. TBH I mod all my GBs with what I think are basic upgrades anyway. The G&G in question - is it a blowback version? If so you will have to keep the gearbox shell and cylinder (if you want the blowback to work), otherwise they are pretty standard inside.
  13. No, haven't been to one before. Was booked onto the last one at Sandpit but could go cos the wife decided to be ill on that weekend. I've heard good things about Anzio though...
  14. Vulcan 607 - Rowland White Bullet Magnet - Mick Flynn Operation Snakebite - Stephen Grey Blackhawk Down - Mark Bowden Band of Brothers - Stephen E. Ambrose Pegasus Bridge - Stephen E. Ambrose D-Day - Stephen E. Ambrose
  15. Airsoft peak sell fma helmets in size l/xl which should do the job. They're pretty good quality too.
  16. Just be sure to make a video of it firing and post it here. We could do a sweepstake on how long it will go for.
  17. My setup is based on this very good video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBeAetjh4q4
  18. I found this to be the case with them also, which is why I use only prommy barrels now. You could try the dental floss or ptfe tape methods to get a better air seal.
  19. Prometheus purple or marui black standard AEG ones.
  20. Tank/vehicle crews, pilots/aircrew etc etc.
  21. I'd have to agree with the above. If its shooting well why change it? With AEGs you soon start to get into diminishing returns.
  22. For skirmishing I use 1 Hi cap and 5-6 mids. Milsim I go all mids.
  23. Hi. Your wallet is already weeping.
