  1. I'd chase the site you registered with. Seen it happen when they forget to put your details up before.
  2. I'd start with 0.25s and work your way up as some guns just won't lift heavier BBs.
  3. Just got my VOLTOR stock that I ordered about a week and a half ago from these guys. I'd order from them again if I can't get stock in the UK.
  4. I dunno i've never had issues being spotted wearing an OD plate carrier with either DPM or Multicam Tropic on. The thing that I have always found gives people away is their face, followed by people wearing colours that clash with the environment such as light or non earth tones in woodland.
  5. Only airsoft related items: "Second hand airsoft-relevant items only. No selling/swapping of any other items, this includes offering items such as consoles for trade. There are no exceptions to this rule." http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/2-rules/
  6. Yeah looks like the right jack, should be a 2.5mm one the same as on my TLKR T6.
  7. Yeah I was going to say that an LMG is pretty much the last gun type I would want messing about with by someone that doesn't know what they are doing. Aside from that you are paying for someone's taste in externals, i'm spending a lot on my latest project but don't consider it as adding value for resale.
  8. Just keep in mind a mate of mine was told last week that they couldn't make lenses for his inserts because they are curved. I have no idea if opticians have differing equipment but he went elsewhere and was told it's fine and will cost him £40
  9. I started off by going with a mate but he turned out to be useless so I just went on my own a few times, got my site membership and then met some new people that I still play with now. As Kurtz says it's easy to just turn up on your own, personally I had to really push myself to do it but i'm glad I did. Most people are cool despite what some whiney threads on various Airsoft Forums suggest and as you all have a common ground it's easy to strike up conversations.
  10. Nothing wrong with upgrading your toys, it does remind me of that show Home Improvement though. I think it's a bit of a guy thing, although there's probably some ladies out there partial to messing about with anything that has potential to be upgraded/improved
  11. You can hire a gun. For the sake of argument you could do a saturday and sunday game on the first two days of the first month, regardless of how many games you play after that your 3rd will have to be on the last day of the 2nd month at the very least. It's essentially irrelevant when you choose to do your 2nd game as it just fits within the start and end date created by your first and third game. Some sites are a bit different though and may be more stringent, where I am registered says 9 weeks which to save anyone the calculation is 63 days.
  12. 3 games, 1 site or at the discretion of multiple sites(unlikely) in no less than 2 months. This information is readily available on this forum, basically all other UK Airsoft forums and the UKARA website.
  13. Yep, no problem people doing what they want as long as it's not putting anyone else at risk(e.g. overarm BFG throws) As I said you hear stories of people doing 360 no scopes or droppping and doing some last stand naughtyness. If it does actually happen outside of forums it has to be a very uncommon occurrence.
  14. Arma is what made me know to scan before moving up when I started playing. Whilst it is a factor in other shooters things like movement and concealment aren't so much of a factor. As far as other games go i'm not really fussed unless people try and do some of the more insidious things from the later call of duty games, which to be honest i'm dubious players do and instead people say them to sound interesting on the internet. When I was a teenager we didn't run with a knife in Airsoft because it made you run faster in CS I think I mentioned it in another thread but I think the main influence media has is in what loadouts people want to run and what guns they choose. Although everyone is different I guess so I can't vouch for the whole community, although i'd have thought this would go without saying
  15. There's talk of a WE GBBR version being released this winter
  16. Depends how far you want to drive, RIFT Com 3 is just over an hour from Bedford, it's a good site and the marshals and players are sound. I'd echo what Baz said, play some games to get an idea of what you might like. Ask players about their kit as Airsofters love talking about it and may even let you try it out.
  17. VLTOR stock for my Recce rifle, time will tell if they are actually in stock though.
  18. Yeah always fires as fast as I can pull the trigger, I actually wasn't aware that was an issue with guns until I saw people talking about it with other makes. Haven't heard of a DSG M4 so no idea what that's like.
  19. The bolt catch is just above where the mag release pushes through on the left hand side of the receiver. On the right hand side of the receiver there's a bulge just above the mag release button. I can post a couple of pictures of the receiver tomorrow if you'd like? Trigger response is fine but it's never something I really notice to be honest. My Recce will have a BTC Spectre MOSFET which improves that and i've shot my mates HK416 that has one and it's definitely better.
  20. I can't vouch for Systemas as i've never owned nor shot one. However when you see people saying that they aren't happy with the performance of a gun costing north of £1000 it does raise questions. My second TM recoil(a Recce rifle) is currently with a technician getting a load of work done on it and it will cost less than that. That said all I can really comment on is the price as the things like accurate receivers and magazines don't really bother me. My very limited knowledge of Systemas lead me to believe that comparing them with a lot, if not all other AEGs is like critiquing a bolt action rifle for it's fire rate. They have a specific market and role is what I mean. What you will likely see is people suggesting that you get a cheaper gun and use the money saved for upgrades, if that's your thing then by all means go for it.
  21. There's been one or two threads along these lines recently. Basically they are reliable guns, pretty accurate and are fun to shoot. When I talk about accuracy I mean hitting man sized target easily at 50 metres on a measured range with a bit of wind. Not "my gun outranges everyone on site because i've decided it's true" which you see a lot in airsoft To me they are worth the money, but it's up to you to decide if you'd rather get a recoil shock or maybe spend less and get a cheaper gun shooting really nicely instead.
  22. I think it's purely to keep drama off this forum, I agree with what Rock-climby-Dave said to that effect on the first page.
  23. Another thing to keep in mind is that different things work for different people, especially with face pro. Whilst the Heroshark goggles use decent quality "mesh"(technically it's more like a sheet of metal with holes punched in it) I found my eyes really did not like them and didn't adjust. It could just be that they are bare metal on the inside and just need spraying black so my eyes don't try and focus on them but I just swapped to my V12s. As far as fogging up goes it varies per person. Normally I find the ESS V12s were fine but would occasionally fog up, especially when it's warm, you have just been running around and then stop for a while. I tend to use ESS ICE glasses now, but still come across the odd situation where they fog up like a bastard. Both the glasses and the goggles(at least the ones that come in a case with changeable lenses like I have) come with a cloth impregnated with an anti fog solution and wiping them down between games helps a lot. I can see why some people use mesh as it's really unpleasant having massively limited vision and standing around waiting for fogged lenses to clear and it's not like you can take them off for a quick clean in the game zone. As I said it's preference, I just about adjust to normal mesh but the Heroshark stuff, at least unpainted was very jarring to try and look through for me.
  24. Cheapest thing is going to be either mesh goggles or shooting glasses. If you want actual goggles look for army surplus ESS Advancer V12s or Revision Bullet Ant - Should be able to find them for around the £25 mark. Whatever you do just don't pick up the cheapest pair of unbranded goggles on ebay as there is a chance a BB could punch right through them. Trusted brands are: Bolle, ESS, Revision, Oakley and Smith Optics(probably a couple more, those are the ones I remember) - The lenses should be rated EN166 or ANSI Z87
