  1. As UTJ said, you're supposed to clean your barrel using rubbing alcohol and not silicone oil. Rubbing alcohol is a cleaning agent, oil is a lubricant. Don't want to hijack the thread here but, GBB pistols: I've seen a few different guides with conflicting advice in them. So I don't know which ones to trust. What would be your advise be for maintaining one?
  2. IIRC it's fine as long as it's 100% silicon.
  3. What do you want advice on? Even if they were good quality 0.12s they are far too inaccurate. Best weight is really 0.25g. Also it wouldn't be worth importing pellets from Asia.
  4. I can get cans of Krylon for £7 or so from Patrol Base but yeah anything over that price I wouldn't bother. I bought some black spray paint from Motorsave for about £4 or £5 and it was just as good really.
  5. Rent at no extra cost? That's brilliant. I suppose if you already have a primary then a pistol would be good, but then again it's probably still more useful to have extra mags and things rather than a whole new gun as tempting as it is. Gen 4 WE Glocks are pretty good from what I've heard, better than older versions. TM magazines are the best you can get as they're the most reliable, so I would definitely recommend them. I doubt they'll be getting them back in at £33 though, considering WE's long mags are £40. On the other hand somebody was selling a WE Glock extended magazine for £25 IIRC, although it could be Dumbass and he's now selling that along with the pistol itself. I might be getting a WE Glock 17 or 18 myself but need to wait for my GCSE results until I can get some money and I'm looking for jobs tommorow so fingers crossed there are some.
  6. I recently ordered a couple of these from AirsoftPeak. At 80% off in the daily sale, this was -needless to say- a brilliant deal. I bought one in black and another in OD. Altogether, the full price came to £8.35! It's probably worth mentioning that if I remember correctly, I ordered these on the 5th June and they arrived the 12th, which is excellent from Hong Kong. Pros Modeled on the C8 Storm pistol grip, it features deep grooves on the backstrap and a diamond texture on the sides. Here are some comparison photographs between the two, both made by G&P. A nice feature is the textured lever of the locking system. It too has a raised, diamond style surface on the end, which makes it easier to use. Having heard good things about G&P externals, and considering the price these usually go for, I expected excellent quality. I'm not disappointed either. Out of the package I noticed they have a nice weight to them. The quick-detach mechanism itself feels very sturdy and secure. At first, the latch which holds the trapdoor can be hard to access. However, it is not something I will be opening often anyway. The strength of the design, as well as the reassuring sound of the hatch clicking into place, encourages me that this will not break simply after minimal use. Tested on my Umarex (S&T) G36C, it fit absolutely solid on the Picatinny rail. I experienced literally no wobble and, just as I thought, no play between the components of the grip itself either. Disadvantages The only complaint I have, is that the grip is slightly too small for my large size hands. Therefore it is not as comfortable as it could be for me. Of course, if you have smaller hands, then this shouldn't even be a problem at all. The price is also a downside to this product. You may have worked it out when I mentioned the price was reduced by 80%. Previously, AirsoftPeak sold this at $34 USD, which is roughly £20. In the United Kingdom, it is available from Land Warrior Airsoft for £25. Fortunately, I have found you can buy it for $24.64 shipped (or just under £15) from eHobby Asia Final Thoughts and Conclusion As the name suggests, the storage compartment could be used to hold batteries, although I would recommend against this due to the inevitable rattling. I would much rather store them in a utility pouch or admin panel. Alternatively, a small cleaning cloth or soft, similarly sized object would be suitable for storing inside. If you're in the market for an superb quality foregrip attachment, I would look no further than this. However, I would also enthusiastically suggest one of the more inexpensive grips from G&P such as the QD Raider or Stubby Raider, both ~ £10 shipped from eHobby Asia. The latter is £15.50 from Fire Support. Thanks for reading the review, any constructive criticism is welcomed and if you would like to see something else about the grip included in this review don't hesitate to ask.
  7. Sorry I didn't reply, it seems I don't get notifications of comments on threads. I know it's been ages but I thought I should reply anyway. I'm not actually into milsim, I guess I'm just a bit of 'gear whore' Well I like that it should last you ages, and I remember someone on here said 'Buy cheap buy twice' I think it is a rule that applies pretty well to both gear and guns in airsoft. I don't think I would ever go out and spend, say £300 on some genuine Crye Precision stuff, for example, but I would pay the extra for a good brand like WAS rather than get something like Condor or Mil-Tec.
  8. End of GCSEs f*ck yeah!

  9. G&P QD Grips arrived already! I'll be doing a written review when I get time.
  10. A boonie would no doubt be easier to find and obviously less expensive than a helmet. As for camo I'd imagine Tiger Stripe's your best bet. You wouldn't have to be too specific since as said above, they switched kit around and stuff.
  11. TaiwanGun isn't actually in Asia, it's Polish. So you won't be charged VAT or import tax AFAIK. I would have them put your UKARA number on the box though! If you want you could contact them and ask them to do it before you order but you can also write it in the business line of your address so it should be on the package already.
  12. Link isn't working? I've searched on PAS but can't see them. Might order a pair myself.
  13. The KWA ERG M4A1 that is supposed to be coming out (non-MAGPUL version) has it been scrapped / delayed? Also I know you could change the RIS now but would you have to keep the crane stock? IDK if anybody knows anything about it - thanks

      Agh knew it :(

Well I think I will definitely be looking into getting one when they are released - or the ERG AKs! :0

  14. Agree with UTJ and Monty. A 7.4V LiPo would be a good option as opposed to a NiMh battery. But if I were to choose between an 8.4 and 9.6V NiMh I would say the 9.6. It's an 11.1 LiPo you would have to worry about doing damage to your gun. You would require a MOSFET and upgraded gears / motor.
  15. Create more power...? What's it shooting at now? I really don't think the FPS of a pistol needs upgrading anyway.
  16. I'm going to cut my mesh half face mask before my next skirmish in about a month so I can wear it with my goggles. I know I saw a video of a guy who was doing it for his son, but I have no idea what it is called / what to search for so I could find it again.
  17. What would be the point of holding it any other way?
  18. I don't think there are any "extended mags" for airsoft sniper rifles. I only know of one (can't remember the brand) for the VSR which holds 55 rounds as opposed to the 30 round standard capacity. Never heard of any for an L96. Magazines are cheap enough but you shouldn't need a lot of ammo as a sniper anyway, unless the games at your local site are really long.
  19. I'm going to be getting a WE Gen 4 Glock 17, but TM and KWA are the said to be the best.
  20. I would agree, either Flyye or Warrior Assault Systems. http://uktactical.com/c-54-warrior-assault-systems.aspx
  21. New Homefront game announced! Homefront: Revolution IIRC

Not gonna lie, but my hopes of a good game are not very high after the abomination that was the first game...

    2 tone

I don't think accessories would really matter, as long as the gun itself is two-tone. Like Yuriski said, there's no reason for the police or anyone to be scrutinizing it anyway as long as you aren't displaying it in public and stuff like that.
  23. Where can I get a £6 rubber knife? Was looking at Cold Steel ones for a tenner but considering the use you get out of the them I'd rather just get a clone / knock off one. If it was me I would have taken the hit, but I suppose it's fair enough if he didn't have a secondary.
